Deze aantrekkelijke vrijstaande schuur ligt op een landweg op het terrein van het huis van de eigenaren en is liefdevol verbouwd met behoud van veel originele kenmerken en balken. Het Old Byre biedt een prachtig uitzicht over het omliggende platteland en prachtige wandelingen vanaf de deur, met tal van lokale wandelpaden. Het is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor het bezoeken van alle bezienswaardigheden die het Peak District te bieden heeft, waaronder Chatsworth House, Alton Towers (op slechts 10 minuten afstand), Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, Cheddleton Steam Railway, Rudyard Lake en Meerbook Reservoir om er maar een paar te noemen. Winkel 2½ mijl en pub 1 mijl.

Everything we needed for a short break in the Peak District. Beautiful property, with stunning views and everything that we needed for our family break. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, nice and cosy lounge with wood burner, very friendly hosts. Great location for walking and climbing.

This cottage is fine if the weather is fine. Unfortunately the weather was awful raining almost very day, with cool temperatures. Nothing the owners could do about that but it meant the magnificent view from the cottage was obscured more often than not by low cloud.

Cosy and convenient

We stayed here for a week during May. 2 adults and 2 children with a dog. The cottage was clean and welcoming on our arrival, complete with a plate of shortbread! Just the right size for us and convenient for all the sights of the Peak District. Everything we needed was available and our hosts were lovely. Thank you!
