Let op: de woning heeft een natuurlijke watervoorziening van een bron, er is een stap naar het overdekte gedeelte en een omheinde beek op het terrein .. Deze aantrekkelijke vrijstaande schuur ligt op een landweg op het terrein van het huis van de eigenaren en is liefdevol verbouwd met behoud van veel originele kenmerken en balken. Het Old Byre biedt een prachtig uitzicht over het omliggende platteland en prachtige wandelingen vanaf de deur, met tal van lokale wandelpaden. Het is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor het bezoeken van alle bezienswaardigheden die het Peak District te bieden heeft, waaronder Chatsworth House, Alton Towers (op slechts 10 minuten afstand), Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, Cheddleton Steam Railway, Rudyard Lake en Meerbook Reservoir om er maar een paar te noemen. Winkel 2½ mijl en pub 1 mijl.

    De woning is toegankelijk via 6 stenen trappen naar de ingang en een stap in de tuin. De eerste brandstof voor houtkachel is inbegrepen, rust ter plaatse beschikbaar. Er is een omheinde beek op het terrein. Er is een privé watervoorziening van deze accommodatie. Maximaal twee honden.

Beautiful house with stunning view

Everything we needed for a short break in the Peak District. Beautiful property, with stunning views and everything that we needed for our family break. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, nice and cosy lounge with wood burner, very friendly hosts. Great location for walking and climbing.

Had a lovely week at The Old Byre.

Had a lovely week at The Old Byre. The location, high in the Peak District offers wonderful views. We had snow whilst there which only enhanced the spectacular scenery. The wood burner made our evenings in nice and cosy. Helen and Kev were welcoming hosts with Kev coming to remove snow to give us an easier exit from the driveway. Would definitely return the this cottage.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Very pet friendly with a large field to walk the dog every day which is a big plus for exercising your dog in a safe place. This cottage is cosy, so well thought out in terms of functionality, and has everything anyone can possibly need. It's location is stunning, and access to walking trails and interesting places to visit close by. The owners are delightful and helpful, very unobtrusive but available should one need anything. We fount the cottage to be well equipped and spotlessly clean which was a welcome touch in these pandemic times. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is at the top of a hill with very nice views and perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset. Great place to stay and definitely recommended! This cottage is fine if the weather is fine.

This cottage is fine if the weather is fine. Unfortunately the weather was awful raining almost very day, with cool temperatures. Nothing the owners could do about that but it meant the magnificent view from the cottage was obscured more often than not by low cloud.
