Lodge la Source is a modern south-facing detached chalet built in 2011, on land belonging to the owner's family.

In the quiet village of Montisbrond, just 4km from the busy market town of Thônes, it is about 16km from the La Clusaz pistes, so a car is essential (but it is just off the main road, which is always cleared of snow in winter). Built as a family home, it is a great place for young children, with a large garden, part of which is flat and a mezzanine area which could be used as a children's play room.

This 5 star chalet has fabulous views, looking out onto tree-covered mountains, an old farm, La Tournette and up the valley towards Manigod.

In 2018 the owner upgraded his already fantastic property with a fabulous indoor pool extension with a gym (elliptical bike, exercise bike, treadmill, aquabikes), home cinema and rooftop terrace.

The chalet sleeps 12 people in 6 bedrooms, there's a bathroom on each of the three floors (one features a hydrotherapy bath) and separate toilets.

The open plan living area is contemporary in style, with a large corner sofa and a woodburning stove and flat screen television. Prepare a meal in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy it together around the dining table, which can be extended to accommodate everyone.

On a warm evening, the wide terrace is the perfect place to eat out of doors, in peaceful lush surroundings. Or if you prefer the whole chalet, inside and out, is wired for sound, which is controlled from a central computer, and with no neighbours to disturb, it's a great excuse for a party!

ABOUT THE AREA ...

Lodge La Source is just outside the market town of Thônes and a 10-minute drive to Manigod/Croix Fry, a less crowded access point to the Aravis ski area with its 220km of snow-sure pistes to suit all abilities.

Although a bit of a drive from the pistes, roads are cleared regularly, so that in fact access can be quicker from here than from properties in villages closer to the pistes, with more challenging private driveways.

The resorts of Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz are also easily accessible. There’s a great choice of cross-country ski, snow-shoe and walking trails. For the ultimate in winter fun, try dog-sledding, paragliding on skis, horse-drawn sleigh rides or ski joering - skiing while being towed by a horse!

Non-skiers are not forgotten in winter, with the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice skating rinks and cinemas, and sophisticated shopping in nearby Annecy and Geneva.
