This spacious, newly-built chalet for 10 on the edge of Les Gets is a real show-stopper! With wonderful bedroom suites, a sauna, hot tub, a games room, cinema room and plenty of room to spread out, it has all the ingredients for a perfect mountain holiday in the Portes du Soleil.

Set in a small hamlet less than 1km from the pistes and the village, this beautifully-designed chalet is just 50m from the bus stop, so you can park your car up in the garage and forget about it, if you wish. There are great views over the village to the mountains and pistes beyond - why not enjoy them from the hot tub on the balcony?

Les Gets has a good choice of restaurants, shops and bars, as well as a packed itinerary of entertainment in summer and winter.

You'll enter Chalet Behansa on the ground floor - leave your skiing or walking equipment in the kit room, which has a ski rack and boot warmer. There's plenty of hanging space too, before you get to the stunning living room, where you can relax on the cosy sofas and watch a film in front of the fire or head straight out on to the balcony and enjoy the wonderful views from the hot tub.

Tthe well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal, and there's plenty of room to sit down together at the dining table. In the summer, you might prefer to eat on the balcony - there's another dining table here and a barbecue area.

There's a spacious bedroom suite on this floor - a large double bed looks out on to the terrace and hot tub, and behind that, the large dressing area leads through to the stylish shower room.

There's another wonderful bedroom on the mezzanine floor - this twin bedroom has sloping ceilings and a separate bathroom and is ideal for children. There's also a games room, which overlooks the main living area. It's a great space for younger guests seeking a bit of independence.

The remaining three bedrooms, on the lower ground floor, all have access to the terrace and the garden beyond. The main bedroom has a dressing room with en suite shower room, and there are two more double/twin bedrooms which share a bathroom. There's a utility room with a washer and dryer on this floor, as well as a sauna and a cinema room with a sofa and bean bags.

Chalet Behansa has been beautifully decorated, with a colour palette of greys, blues and earthy colours that reflect the surrounding scenery. Whether you visit in summer or winter, it's a wonderful setting for your mountain holiday.

With the ski bus almost on your doorstep, and the village and pistes just 1km away from Chalet Behansa, you can forget about driving for the whole of your holiday!

Les Gets and the neighbouring resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz are in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, which has 12 resorts spanning the French/Swiss border. In fact, you can ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.

If you're not a skier, there's plenty going on in Les Gets, and the nearby resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema shows films in English.

The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.

As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!

For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avorias or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll and a picnic, or perhaps a bit of kayaking.

Les Gets and Morzine have earned Famille Plus status for their excellent childcare and entertainment, so this area is a great choice for young families.

There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz.

Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. If all this sounds like hard work, you could always just relax in the hot tub at Chalet Behansa ...

Please note that Chalet Behansa received a 5* classification for 8 guests but the property can welcome up to 10 guests. The chalet is walking distance from the village centre (650m) but please note that the walk back up to the chalet is steep.
