'We arrived early and left our luggage to explore Reykjavik, which was no problem at all. Upon check-in, we got a room in the basement, under the bar and lobby area, which got me worried about potential noise problems. 'Very nice rooms and comfortable beds. The lighting system is ridiculous. Any lighting that requires a tutorial upon arrival, however brief, is probably too complicated. It was a “clever” system that was just too clever. Different mood settings for different times of day. How about on/off and maybe a dimmer? A small thing but annoying enough that we all complained about it.'

'Hotel is very good, very well maintained, nice rooms. Two downsides: You have to use the elevator, there are no stairs, except dor emergencies. At night it is very loud from outside with partying people. If you sleep with open windows, you have a challenge to fall asleep. '

'Loved the location, the building was very clean inside and out. Lacking basic room amenities. No TV, radio, or anything anywhere in the building. Power outlets in weird locations. Wasn’t pleased that we couldn’t even enter the building until check in time, that definitely needs to be looked at for future customers with luggage. '

'The staff at this hotel is WORLD CLASS. The food at Tides is sensational, the rooms are wonderful (comfortable beds, fantastic showers) and the amenities are top tier. I will be looking to stay at any Marriott Edition hotel I can from this point forward. I give this hotel 10 stars.'
