Country Inn While searching for the perfect property to bring our project to life—creating a country inn and a reception hall—we found La Bernacherie. It’s a place I’ve heard about since I was a child from my father, who would share memories of his childhood there with his parents and siblings. My grandparents were sharecroppers on this farm, which at the time belonged to the owners of the Château de la Touche, located a short distance away. My father was born there with his twin brother in the “olive” room and spent his entire youth there. This large building had been abandoned for several years, and nature had reclaimed it. We’re incredibly proud that it’s returning to the family; it’s a family project in which everyone has pitched in according to their skills and abilities. The renovation takes a lot of time and effort, but what a joy it is to bring this house back to life.
