typisch engels hotel
bij ons zou je dit eerder een pension noemen. schone kamers , vriendelijke receptionist, het ontbijt is matig maar voor 6 pond kan je ook niet te veel verwachten

Friendly place with helpful staff
Run by helpful, friendly people. Building is old but attractive --as long as you don't mind some tight doors and worn furniture. Bus stops in front of hotel. 20 min. to Liverpool centre and to Liverpool airport. Hotel has bar and pool table --but no circus at night. Working Wifi. Enjoyed our stay.

aanrader voor verblijf in liverpool
Wij hadden 2 kamers geboekt in het Mountford Hotel en hebben er erg van genoten. De kamers waren super, erg schoon en de bedden sliepen prima. Personeel was erg aardig en behulpzaam. De locatie is ook erg prettig, net buiten het centrum, maar met een bushalte voor de deur waar elk kwartier een bus vertrek naar het centrum.

Price was a bargain. Good size room / bathroom . Third time booking. Breakfast service and menu has significantly deteriorated. Breakfast organised in two groups , for our second 8.30am serving it was a presentation of seemed cheapest and poor quality cold meat products , cheese and hard boiled eggs. There was cereals and sliced bread to toast and one limp croissant. We went out for breakfast.

The hotel receptionist was extremely helpful, she was super efficient too. Our superior room needed a few touches to improve the comfort, the shower controls on the bath taps, directly under the shower head, meant you got cold/wet water when they were turned on. A shelf in the bathroom would have been useful too. The room was at the front of the hotel and road noise was clearly audible. The room was chilly but ok when we turned on the radiator.

Very limited parking,. you have to drive up a very narrow lane only to find about 5 parking spaces. They do state on the website that on street parking is available if car park is full but there was absolutely no available parking on the street either. This is a relatively new hotel but the room allocated was very basic and an odd shape, the bed was hard and lumpy and the hallway light was on all night which shone through the bedroom room making it extremely difficult to fall asleep in which wouldn't have mattered anyway as we were kept awake by all the guests laughing and talking as they passed our room. Make sure you don't get allocated Room 1. We tried to have a shower at 8am but there was no water running through the hot taps and when I went to reception to enquire I was met with a blank stare , a shrug of the shoulders and told they couldn't do anything about it, no apology, no coming to the room to try and see what the problem was. Shocking customer service . I was told to come back at 9am as the manager didn't start until then. We had to leave at 8.45 for an appointment . I would have at least expected the manager to contact us once they arrived at the hotel but I fear the complaint was not passed on. Awful experience and will never return or recommend.

There were a lot of stairs even though there was a lift. The room was basic. Nom hairdryer in room ,but we could have got one from the reception. Very icy outside and driveway hadn’t been treated so my husband ,who walks with a stick ,was very nervous. warm welcome when we arrived.

Execelente estadia
Ótimo hotel, voltaria sem sombra de dúvidas! Roupa de cama branca, nova e limpa. O café da manhã poderia ser um pouco mais caprichado e com toalhas nas mesas, que são de granito escuro, mas embora simples é de qualidade tudo o que serviu. O menor do hotel é a localização fantástica!!! Tem o tô de ônibus bem na frente do hotel onde se pode ir para a cidade toda com facilidade. O hotel também fica perto da Penny Lane e da strawberry Street, as ruas onde ficam as casas dos Beatles e ainda do ladinho do Sefton Park, lugar lindíssimo para caminhar e chegar até a Lark Lane, rua onde tem vários restaurantes.

Disliked that there was no subtle lighting for evening eg bedside lamps, only main bright room lighting. Also pillows were very flat and only 1 per person with no spares. Bathroom was modern and very clean. Lovely staff .

Quick stop in Liverpool
Service was brilliant at check in, room was good and very clean although I doubt beds are king size. Parking was a bonus. Breakfast was basic but a snack to put us on. Very near Larks Lane, walking distance with lots of lovely bars and restaurants.

They take a £50 deposit that takes 30 days to return to your account. For me that says a lot. Especially when the towel holder, shelf above the sink and the blind, all came off the wall during the very short period that we stayed there. The hotel agreed that it had nothing to do with us - but one should not have to go finding staff and explaining oneself to those staff for fear of being charged £50 for something that is not your fault. Other than that, the continental breakfast was not great, and the hotel looks very tired and run down.

Very clean and comfortable. Staff were great although the receptionist had to double up as bar staff and housemaid at times which meant waiting a bit longer. Definitely would stay again. Buses into Liverpool straight outside the hotel door. Recommended stsy.

Good but…
Comfortable room. Good welcome and happy to re-allocate to one better suited to our needs. But don’t expect your bed to be made each day- they expect you to do it. Breakfast is a cold “continental “ but limited quality. And you are expected to clear your own table. Yet the breakfast staff we met were helpful and friendly. Bar wine price was good.

Well i was absolutely freezing in the hotel and the room ( not impressed) i did ask fir a heater n he said there all gone but he could offer me a quilt. I had a shower and the water trickled out of the showe head and it was luck warm Then the next day no hot water came out of the taps on the sink to have a wash. We didnt sleep very well as it was windy outside and the window kept banging. Over hall not very impressed. But the hotel its self was gorgeous

Poor service and terrible experience
The hotel listed free parking. The carpark was small and full so we had to park on the roadside. The room did not have air conditioning and the window did not open. There was no fridge. It was probably the hottest night of the year. The bed was awful and we asked a number of times for an extra pillow. None came. On arrival we were stung by an additional £50 deposit. Breakfast was poor and a notice explained that the breakfast was lacking some items due to ‘unavailability’. All in all , a terrible experience.
