It makes me so happy to hear how much your dogs enjoyed the large yard and that you all had such a great stay! As for the low lying limbs, I had a trimming service come out to cut them back. Unfortunately, they were not able to reach that far out over the water. As mentioned in your welcome packet, the best area for fishing is far better from the floating deck than the yard with low hanging limbs. Again, My sincerest apologies about the one “hiccup” with entering the community. However, now that the new Security Deputies will have become more familiar with the routine of Taylor Lake property owners as well as renters coming and going, hopefully, that one hiccup will definitely be a thing of the past. I’d just like to add that I am especially thankful for the added professional security those Sheriff’s Deputies are providing around the clock at Taylor Lake. The happiness and satisfaction of my renters is always of utmost importance and of highest priority to me. Roberta, as expressed to you on the website, over the phone, as well as in texts, I remain very sorry that any of this unfortunate situation occurred. To be fair here, you are also fully aware that your review is full of untruths. In order to defend my reputation as a business owner and Premier Host, I am posting the very lengthy truth as to what actually transpired between us as well as Vrbo: Right out of the box to your comment about my “not compensating you”: In your lengthy review, you conveniently failed to mention my generosity in having REFUNDED your Security Deposit. You had assured me that when you stayed, you had used nothing and had left the property even cleaner than it was on arrival. First, the property was very clean on your arrival. However, it was left anything but clean on your departure. With all that transpired during communications with you, and the extreme lack thereof, plus the condition in which you left my property, I had every right to keep your Security Deposit. I showed you extreme kindness, trusting you at your word and I refunded your Security Deposit IN FULL only to find, once again, you were not good for your word. Now, to address your other statements: 1. No, I did not “compensate” you by refunding you rental payment, Roberta, because it was your decision not to stay. 2. My Refund Policy is crystal clear. 3. You were being provided with far over and above what your rental price actually covered as every renter is. 4. Considerable time, miles and effort had gone into preparing all requirements for your stay. 5. You had a reservation on my calendar for the better part of 3 months. How can you expect a Host to lose money for dates that have been tied up on their calendar that long, simply because you got angry and wanted to take it out on them for your technical difficulties or lack of technical expertise, failure to check all details that are very clearly expressed and displayed on the website, and an untrained dog. 6. I was never rude, condescending nor defensive toward you, even though you were VERY rude and yelling over me every time I attempted to provide answers to your questions. 7. I was very apologetic to you. I felt horrible for you because you had obviously experienced some sort of technical difficulties and had not been able to access the information that had been sent to you in a very timely manner as is done with each and every renter. 8. As anyone can see, the 30+ professional photos on my website show EVERY area of the yard, from all sides of the property. 9. The website also states, very clearly, that the lake front and canal side are not fenced. 10. As far as your comment about it being unsafe for pets and kids, unless the parent is acting extremely irresponsibly while they are in their care, there would be no danger to them. Children and pets of renters are the sole responsibility of the renter. 11. Besides Vrbo and I providing all detailed information, very timely, we both also made repeated attempts to get a response FROM you. 12. You booked the property in February, 2024. Vrbo tried repeatedly to obtain final payment from you right up until the date just prior to your scheduled arrival on April 22. 13. The website shows confirmation that the check-in details and additional information I sent, as well as the requests Vrbo sent, were ALL delivered to you, very timely. 14. Even though Vrbo had not received payment in full for the rental AS LATE AS APRIL 20, as an act of good faith, I went ahead and sent the detailed check-in information which included gate code, current door access code, etc. For obvious security reasons, that type of detailed, very sensitive information is never sent to a renter until Vrbo confirms receipt of payment in full. However, to ensure you had everything you needed, I took a risk. 15. I had called you repeatedly and left messages. There was never a response. 16. I texted you. 17. There was absolutely no reason you would not have had the gate code with you upon arrival unless you experienced some technical difficulty on equipment or your failed to print it out or copy it to your phone. 18. You angrily told me you had called me six (6) times. 19. My new iPhone 15 confirmed you called me only two (2) times. Both times were on the date of your arrival. 20. I furnish pet lead lines you could have put your dog on that would have solved any potential problems with your pet. During all your shouting at me, I was never allowed to convey that fact. 21. In addition to the above, you have accused me of false advertising, and, now you are also falsely accusing me of child and pet endangerment. Neither of which is one bit true. I do wish you well, Roberta.

Dear Rick Clark, As you know, we have discussed, at length, your distaste and disappointment in my property. In light of your review, I feel it necessary to restate what actually transpired so that those reading can be well-informed as to what transpired. You expressed disappointment that my home utilizes window A/C units. Those units are clearly displayed in every picture on my website. Those units also keep the house very comfortably cool. You expressed a distaste over an “abandoned vehicle in the yard”. To clarify for others reading this: My 1999 Explorer Sport was parked on my private property, in my yard. It should not have hindered your stay, in any way. Again, Rick, you were advised prior to arrival that the vehicle would be there and that plans were being arranged for it to be picked up by a charity, because it was being donated. As I also told you, it has been a very long, frustrating process, involving a lot of research, plus many failed attempts that turned out to be scams. UPDATE: The vehicle was picked up last Friday by Canine Companions Charity/Adult Rides. The very kind gentleman who came to pick it up, started the engine and drove the Explorer onto the flatbed transport. For its age, the vehicle has very low mileage of 164,000 miles, was always very well-maintained by me, the sole owner, and, now, I am very thankful to report that someone else will be able to utilize the vehicle to better their lives. You expressed distaste over my antique Skeeter fishing boat sitting in the yard. As you know, you had been apprised of it’s status, as well, prior to your arrival. As explained to you prior to your arrival, the boat was, unfortunately, damaged and had to be removed from the lake. The boat holds great sentimental value to me, as it was my deceased husband’s boat. And, as with the vehicle, it is parked on my private property, not in anyone’s way. Plans have been in the works to paint it and turn it into a decorative flower garden. Many places on lakes and ocean shores have them and they are very charming and beautiful. I am personally very excited to see how my Skeeter turns out. You said my house was dirty and my furniture was old and dirty. In order to follow Covid-19 cleaning guidelines, I always reserve two days between rentals to drive from Houston and personally air the house out, deep clean, disinfect and prepare it for incoming renters. My renters open the door to a cool or warm (depending on season), spotlessly clean and orderly house. Renters have written reviews here attesting to how very well-maintained and clean my home is. My leather furniture is cleaned between renters with leather cleaner. I do, yes, have some antique furniture that is very, very old, but, it is also very clean. In the real world, not every place is for everyone, Rick. But, your reaction has come as quite a surprise, especially, since all furniture and other characteristics, as well as every aspect of my property is very clearly portrayed, exactly as it is in real life, in the professional photos on Vrbo. While you found it “big on promise, low on delivery”, through the years, many have loved and enjoyed the charm and relaxed coziness of my little chalet nestled on the quiet, peaceful cove of George Taylor Lake. Many have loved it so much that they come back every year. I welcome anyone reading this to come and experience the relaxed, peaceful atmosphere, and charm of my very accommodating, fun, clean, cozy little Chalet. Respectfully, Patricia

Donna, as you know, there was a loss reported to Vrbo upon inspection following your stay. $100 of your security deposit was deducted to cover that loss. The rest of your deposit was refunded to you. I am sorry you are angry about it, but, you know full well that you were not scammed. When things disappear from the property during a renter’s stay, the property owner has every right to deduct from a renter’s security deposit to cover that item. It would have been in my right to keep the entire deposit, however, I only kept a portion to cover replacement cost of the item. Kind regards, Patricia

Rebetha, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I appreciate your comments about the property being nice and clean. I do work very hard to ensure my renters are taken care of in every way possible. The lake level is low, as was mentioned in earlier communications with you prior to your arrival. Unfortunately, it is something I have no control over and am happy to know it is only temporary. So sorry about the low hanging branches making it hard for you to cast. Thankfully, there are other areas to cast where we were able to cut the branches so that they are not hanging so low. However, there was no room left for doubt that you or someone in your party was able to catch at least a fish or two, because they were, unfortunately, cleaned in the yard and scales, etc. were left there. My dogs truly enjoyed rolling in them. I did not enjoy it so much when having to bathe them to try and remove the smell, especially when under time constraint, needing to get the house ready for other incoming renters. Indeed, the airconditioners are louder than central A/C, but, thankfully, they sure do keep the house nice and cool during intense summer heat! Thank you for taking the time to write this review, Darci. So happy to hear that, overall, you enjoyed your stay and found my little place to be wonderful. The stove is old, however, it works very well and is very clean. The rental does not provide food, spices, coffee, etc. It would be good to note that the lake house is also my home away from home, and, though I do welcome my renters to use whatever is there, i.e., spices, coffee, etc., they are not at all considered a part of the rental. Many renters have been so grateful to be able to use my coffee and spices until they could get to the store and buy their own for their stay. As you know, Satellite TV is provided for the living/dining area. The TV upstairs is strictly there due to a wonderful renter who so graciously left a VHS player and videos for others to use. It was his Mother's and she was recently deceased. During his stay, he called and asked me if it would be okay if he left it. However, It is very hard to use one without a TV, so one was provided for that very purpose. Renters who have small children seem to love it because of the many children's videos available. As mentioned to you earlier, my handyman is working on designing an easier access for the floating deck. Sorry it was not in place for your stay and you found it difficult to get onto and off of the deck. It would be so wonderful if I had control over the level of the lake. Sadly, I do not. Still not sure why that happened since I had already added you to my cell phone directory specifically to prevent it from being blocked. However, it is just another good reason why I urge all renters to print the detailed instruction page that I provide on the website that includes gate code, wifi, password, etc. My handyman has been working on an easier access to the floating deck due to the fact that we do have low water level at certain times of the year.
