We arrived for a 2 week stay and when checking in that night smelled and found visible mold in 2 bathroom showers and likely signs of it in other areas. The smell didn't go away when ventilated and my wife started to have an allergic reaction to it. There were also issues with bugs, a ripped chair and table, stains on carpet and couches, and more. The mold was a health issue so we contacted Vrbo support immediately to document the issues and get help. Both us and they tried to contact the host who didn't respond until the next morning. Vrbo support advised us not to finish check in or stay there at all so we didn't. After the brief initial response the first morning, host then didn't respond to us or Vrbo support again for about 10 days as we asked for a refund while patching together other places to stay at the last minute. He eventually responded and said twice in messages he would give us a refund (of some amount at least), but then refused, through Vrbo support instead of contacting us, to refund anything for the stay.
