I stayed in the penthouse apartment on the top (5th) floor. A nicely done 2-bed apartment, clean, modern with good views of the surrounding.
But the whole experience of booking, check-in, and minor things with the stay left a disappointing feel in me, sadly.
The full check-in detail is not available to you on the hotels.com webpage when booking. Some of it comes soon after in a separate mail. Its, cumbersome, long, and confusing to say the least. There is no onsite reception, so one would expect the self-checking to be made as easy as possible. It’s not. The lady on the phone line is not reachable easily. And tells things to do that are not mentioned in the mail. Very confusing. Especially to someone new to the city. To add to this, she needs to be more polite. The final check-in codes are sent right at the last moment when you reach the property. Strange. If you have no access to phone, emails there, you are stuck.
The apartment is on the 5th floor, but the lift was out of service. I had to walk all the way up with luggage. I spoke about this to the person on the phone; his response was ‘well, we didn’t advertise the lift!!’ Can you believe it?!!
There were other issues like a very complicated, if ever functional, hot water control in the bath, a roller blind on the large bedroom window that could not be rolled up, no information on-site on things like switching on / controlling room temperature, etc.
I will avoid this place next time. Didn’t get what I had paid for.
