'Our amazing stay in the Ashley Mackenzie villa was magical! The view of the glacier lake, the mountains, and Mount Cook were spectacular. Kaye and Luke were gracious hosts and Anna was a dream to work with. The villa was first class and very well appointed. We lacked for nothing! The chef prepared 5 star dinners that were delicious and delivered every evening. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing and pampered stay.'

'Lovely small holiday home on the edge of town. Super quiet area. Perfect for a couple or small family. Huuuuge fenced grassy area, for the dog to run around in safety, looking northwards down onto the Fraser river with gorgeous autumn colours. Really good woodburner and all mod cons, Wifi excellent, comfy bed, with lots of blankets and duvets, powerful shower with endless hot water. Second stay here in 6 months and will be back- endless outdoor things to do in the Twizel area. '

'The Black Box was a perfect stopping point on our tour of the South Island. Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, it was a perfect two day stop for us to visit the Mount Cook glacier, enjoy the Twizel area, and just relax. The home was exactly as you see it online. Great place. '

'I have already recommended this place to family/friends. It was incredibly comfortable, the views were awe inspiring (fairly sure you can see Mt Cook on a clear day). It had all the supplies you need. And the hosts checked in and were very responsive. Just the best place to stay in the area! Some pots weren’t clean, but I think that happens when other guests do a quick wash and put the pots back in the cabinet. It didn’t takeaway from how lovely the place is.'
