Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf. In april was vooral het overdekte zwembad lekker, omdat het buitenbad nog ijskoud was. Het ontbijt was niet heel uitgebreid, maar de standaard dingen waren aanwezig voor ons was dit prima. Verder vernoemen ze dat ze een gym hebben maar dit zijn maar een paar apparaten, dus mocht je echt willen sporten kan dit hier niet. De bedden zijn wel aan de harde kant, maar slapen prima. Verder is het wel 20 minuten lopen naar de binnenstad, dit was gewoon goed te doen en je zou ook met de bus of auto kunnen. Het personeel was niet heel vriendelijk, dit merkten wij echter over heel het eiland ook bij restaurants dus ik denk dat dit niet per se aan het hotel zelf ligt.

Goede kamers en zeer vriendelijk personeel
We verbleven 9 nachten in Enotel Quinta do Sol en dat is ons uitstekend bevallen. Het personeel is vriendelijk en altijd bereid om te helpen. Het hotel is schoon en netjes onderhouden en de faciliteiten: zwembad, ontbijt, sauna en fitness zijn perfect. Zeker een aanrader! Voor mensen die echter minder goed te been zijn kan de wandeling naar het centrum misschien te lang zijn. Dit weerhoud ons er echter niet van dit hotel bij iedereen aan te bevelen.

Straatlawaai als je aan de westkant logeert. Oordopjes zijn gewenst.

Prima verblijf gehad. Ontbijt was prima, als actieve veertigers waren we aan de jonge kant vergeleken met de rest van de hotelgasten. Voor ons geen probleem. Altijd kiezen voor zeezicht anders kijk je op een bouwterrein. De kruizing voor de deur was wel druk

Fijn hotel met goede service
Het hotel ligt op een goede locatie ten opzichte van het centrum. Wij boekten een kamer met uitzicht op zee en daar kregen we ook nog uitzicht op de bergen bij. Prachtig! De kamer was schoon en werd goed schoongehouden. Het ontbijtbuffet was uitgebreid en goed. Het weer was zo goed dat we nog op de terrasstoelen hebben kunnen liggen. De service vanuit de bar was uitstekend. Het was erg prettig dat we op de dag voor ons vertrek via de receptie konden inchecken voor de terugreis. Tenslotte was de gratis parkeerplaats in de garage heel fijn.

Prima dagelijkse uitvalsbasis voor Madeira vakantie
Mooi hotel op een prima locatie (op loopafstand van zowel het oude centrum evenals hotelgebied waar de meeste restaurants gesitueerd zijn). Hotel bevat ook een zwembad en een jacuzzi die beiden inbegrepen in de prijs zijn. Aangesloten is ook een fitnessruimte en SPA waar wel apart voor betaald moet worden. Tegenwoordig ook niet onbelangrijk, WIFI is gratis en op de meeste plekken met goed bereik. We hadden een kamer met prachtig uitzicht op de Atlantische Oceaan. Aan deze kant van het hotel is er wel iets meer lawaai van langsrijdend verkeer, maar dat went na de eerste avond plus naarmate het later word op de dag neemt het verkeer (en het lawaai dus ook) af. Elke avond werd er wel iets georganiseerd in de lounge/bar van het hotel zoals bijvoorbeeld karaoke, volksdans of pianomuziek. Je verveelt je niet wanneer je in het hotel bevindt. Er was zelfs een pooltafel aanwezig. Hotelpersoneel is zeer vriendelijk (net als de inwoners van Madeira) en behulpzaam bij het regelen van eventuele excursies naar andere gebieden van het eiland. Als je gebruik wilt maken van het OV zijn er vlakbij het hotel genoeg haltes te vinden. De Aerobus (van en naar het vliegveld) stopt ook bij deze haltes, was erg handig. Ik zou dit hotel zeker aanraden en mochten wij zelf nog eens teruggaan naar Madeira dit hotel waarschijnlijk nogmaals boeken.

Kennis making met Madeira
Eerste keer naar Madeira is zeer goed gevallen. Prima hotel met goede faciliteiten (fitness, binnen- en buitenzwembad), zeer uitgebreid ontbijt met voor ieder wat wils. Vriendelijk personeel en ook zeer behulpzaam. Vanuit het hotel al een zeer mooi uitzicht en ca 20 minuten stappen naar het centrum van Funchal en met de auto ook zeer makkelijk buiten de stad te geraken.

Hotel was very nice. We had a great corner room with large opening windows so felt as though we were outside. Had view of mountains and of the ocean. It was also very large by any standard. It is not ocean front, but that is not so important as there is no beach in Funchal and our room had an ocean view. Only slightly negative observation was lack of things one usually sees in hotels e.g. no water bottles, no lotion..But that slight defect was overwhelmed by the quality of the room.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Only faults were the beds were hard (got a topper fitted) and the dining room is very congested at times. Overall a great stay at lovely hotel.

Skulle inte säga att det är ett 4-⭐️ hotell, mer som ett 3-⭐️, väldigt hårda sängar. Frukosten var ganska bra! Men bra läge, några minuters promenad till citykärnan och Lido åt andra hållet. Smidigt att direkt komma ut på motorvägen om man hyr bil. Dock väldigt mycket oväsen från vägen utanför så svårt att sova om man har öppet fönster

Everything about this hotel screamed comfort, a very enjoyable stay which was great value.the indoor pool was a particular highlight, along with the sauna. Breakfast buffet was vast.

Wonderful Funchal base for exploring
The hotel had a delightful breakfast, room, pool, spa, location. We were able to walk into town along a single flat road, There is also free parking directly outside the hotel. Slightly hard bed, but this can be forgiven.

Enotel Magnolia in Funchal does it right!
Great hotel with very friendly staff. I made request ahead of time and they were able to accommodate me. Thanks. Also I got early check in as the room was ready. Beautiful grounds with outdoor pool large patio and big heated pool/hot tub. Top floor terrace with 360 views of the surrounding area. Really one does not want to leave. One issue is the noise from the street level especially if there is a loud motorcycle passing. Overall minor issue. I would also appreciate maybe coffee tea making machine in the lobby as there is no kettle in the room. I like to drink hot water and going to the bar each time is not convenient. The room has a safe mini fridge that actually works and personalized message on tv upon your arrival. I thought it was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend that hotel. Also worth mentioning the airport bus stop is just on the other side of the street. 5 euros per person will take you to the airport. Easy and convenient. Bus stop #12 of the aeroport transport line.

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was lavish. Location was very good, you could easily walk to center. We had a lovely week at beautiful Madeira.

Great location for the city yet out of it enough that is was slightly more chilled. Waking up to the sun rise over the sea every morning was lovely. Staff were all incredibly polite and helpful.

Trevlig och effektiv incheckning även mitt i natten (hade förvarnat om sen ankomst). Mitt superiorrum var trevligt och rymligt med gott om förvaringsutrymme (”öppen” garderob, d v s utan dörrar) och ledig golvyta. Hade fungerat väl att dela med väninna p g a separata sängar (intill varandra) och ordentligt privat badrum. Mycket hård säng, vilket passar mig så jag vet inte om det hade funnits bäddmadrass att tillgå. Värdeskåp med plats för laptop. Kylskåp (tom minibar) och vattenkittel och kaffekoppar (men inte kaffe eller te). Trevliga allmänna utrymmen och utmärkt såväl frukost- som middagsbuffé förutom att såväl frukostkaffet som –juicen var precis så hemsk(t) som någon tidigare gäst anmärkt. Rent överallt och rummet städades varje dag som rutin. Hotellet ligger på promenadavstånd till såväl centrala Funchal (backar) som Lido-området (lägre backar) och nära allmänna kommunikationer men även om man åker buss är det en liten backe uppför sista biten (och därmed nerför när man är på väg från hotellet). Billigt att åka taxi från centrala Funchal. ”Step-free access” inom hotellet.

I had a room with a view and the view was incredible! Solo travelling and felt safe while there. Bed was super firm and I found it uncomfortable (only downside).
