Huisje op goede locatie
Prachtig uitzicht. Op goede loopafstand van centrum mits goed ter been. Erg steil allemaal. Keuken inventaris is miniem en spinnenwebben in de keukenkastjes. Verder goed te doen.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this group to any other owner. In 5 years of activity, I have an average of 9.5 on another online platform. Besides never having responded to my hospitality, they lie and try, in their comment, to destroy a serious business. Be careful.

Touch the earth - on a Quinta in the heart of Funchal
House well designed, built, maintained, and equipped - very pleasant atmosphere. Electric heater in each room, needed only occasionally in late January. Long south-facing balcony with nice view down to the ocean. Washing machine, cleverly positioned clothesline on balcony, and drying rack easily took care of laundry for 5 adults. On-property parking spot directly in front of house. Bordered by charming ornamental plants and bushes, some flowering, and some, like the laurels, with interesting foliage. Yard directly east of the house is a raised grassy lounging area. Great view and, at the far side, a really fine outdoor kitchen - traditional Portuguese brick BBQ (charcoal or wood) flanked by sink with running water and counters for food prep, plus lights and electrical outlet. To the south is a banana grove, to the north a mixed fruit / veggie garden, all still on this property. Bananas not yet ripe, but we enjoyed some collards and a tasty papaya. This property is on the Quinta da Boa Vista. Also on this quinta - friendly neighbour with big veggie garden and small herd of goats, the Quinta da Boa Vista orchid farm, and other properties. It's only a few steps to a great padaria, a small but well-stocked grocery, and stops for Horarios de Funchal #32 bus to downtown. Adelino and family were very hospitable and easy to contact. All 5 adults in our group had a wonderful time here. It was a privilege to experience Funchal and Madeira from the perspective of this

Spotless, spacious and special
We loved our two weeks in Adelino and family’s villa. . It’s just 10 minutes walk to the centre of town. The walk back is a challenge but no problem at all and you could get the 32 bus all the way to the neighbouring bakery for less than €2. It’s maintained superbly .

Schöner Urlaub
Schönes Objekt, entspricht den Fotos im Internet. Sauber und alles vorhanden, was benötigt wurde. Es ist nicht nur eine Wohnung sondern man hat das ganze Haus für sich. Die Gastgeberfamilie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Würde gerne wiederkommen. Einziger Nachteil ist die steile Straße zum Haus, aber das gehört zu Madeira.

Ferienwohnung Funchal
Das Ferienhaus ist wie auf den Bildern dargestellt. Leider spricht der Vermieter nur Portugisisch, so dass keine Verständigung möglich war . Ein wenig störend sind die abgestellten alten Autos auf dem schönen Grundstück.

Sehr schönes Haus, tolle Lage, sehr freundliche Vermieter
Wir - vier Erwachsene - waren vom 19.01.19 bis zum 02.02.19 in diesem Haus. Der Transfer vom und zum Flughafen verlief super. Das Haus hat eine supertolle Lage, am Berg liegend mit Ausblick aufs Meer und Hafen. Umgeben von einer kleinen Bananenplantage. Im Freien befindet sich eine "Liegewiese" mit Sitzmobiliar sowie einem sehr gut funktionierenden Grill. Hier konnten wir die schönen Abende genießen. Im Haus befinden sich drei Schlafzimmer - zwei Doppel und ein Einzelbett. Es sind zwei getrennte komplette ausgestattete Badezimmer (mit einer Waschmaschine für Wäsche) vorhanden. Die Küchenbereich ist mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet, im Wohnbereich ist ein Fernsehgerät mit deutschen Sendern sowie WILAN vorhanden. Der Vermieter, Herr Adelino Catanho ließ es sich nicht nehmen trotz Erkältung uns einzuweisen, sowohl im Haus als auch in der Umgebung - Bäcker, kleiner Einkaufsladen in unmittelbarer Nähe-. Dieses geschah in einwandfreier englischer Sprache - auch wurde eine geschichtliche Erklärung über das Haus und Vorfahren gegeben !! Auch hatte Herr Catanho schon Wünsche erfüllt, die wir ihm zuvor mitgeteilt hatten - Wasser bereitstellen zum Trinken -. Alle Fragen konnten von ihm zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit beantwortet werden. Er bot an, dass er für jede Fragen zur Verfügung steht. Die Lage, die kleine Bananenplantage, die blühenden Blumen luden einfach ein, sich zu erholen. Im Haus waren genügend Handtücher,Decken etc. vorhanden. Nach einer Woche wurde die Bettwäsche gewechselt. Da es zu dieser Jahreszeit manchmal etwas "frisch" war - ca. 12 Grad, hatte Herr Cantanho zwei Heizkörper ins Haus gestellt, war vollkommen ausreichte. Vom Haus aus, war in Funchal alles sehr gur fußläufig zu erreichen - Funchal ist eine Stadt im Berg gebaut, die teilweise steile Anstiege hat. Man konnte vom Haus aus die ein- und ausfahrenden großen Passagierschiffe sowie die schönen Sonnenuntergänge beobachten. Direkt neben dem Haus befindet sich ein kleiner origineller Orchideenpark, o man bei einer ebenfalls Superaussicht Kaffee trinken kann. Diese Haus kann nur mit bestem Gewissen empfohlen werden. Auf diesem Wege möchten wir uns nochmals bei unserem lieben Vermieter, Herrn Adelino Catanho, recht herzlich für die Gastfreundschaft bedanken. Zu erwähnen sei noch, dass er schon im Vorfeld der Reise uns Tipps und Informationen über Funchal und Madeira gegeben hat !! Es war einfach tolllll !!

Beautiful place, excellent service!
The apartment has the perfect location, about ten minutes walk to the centre. Extra blankets, pillows, towels, and a fully equipped kitchen. The water boiler suddenly stopped working. I sent a mail, and ten/fifteen minutes later (!), we had a new one. That is what I call excellent service! We highly recommend this place😊

Wonderful accomodation
We had a great time in Funchal - and a great accomodation. Lots of space, everything we needed. The Villa Catanho in Quinta da Boa Vista is perfectly situated and offers a wonderful view to the Atlantic Ocean from the windows and the terrace. The house is surrounded by banana trees, wine and figs, there´s lots of space for the children to play in the green area and for the adults to sit outside and enjoy their stay. A bus stop is near the Quinta (so there´s no need for a car), or you just walk about 15 minutes downhill and reach the city centre of Funchal. Last, but not least: Our hosts, the Catanho family, are very kind and friendly people! Mr. Catanho drove us from the airport to the house, showing us the first interesting sights of Funchal on the way back (for example the Shopping Centre - we could do the first shopping of things we needed for our stay, while he was waiting for us - and the Swimming/Bathing Complex that´s near Quinta da Boa Vista - we went there very often). Our hosts even provided us with delicious fresh grapes, figs and bananas from their own ground - gourgeous and so tasty! Thank you for everything, dear Mr. Catanho, we are looking forward to spending another fantastic time at yours in Funchal in the near future!
