Too expensive despite nice garden
This was by far the most expensive hotel we visited and by far not worth its money. Garden is nice, but hotel is in need of serious update and personell in sync with pricepoint.

prima vakantie
toen we aankwamen werden we welkom geheten en onze koffers naar ons appartement gebracht. we zagen toen dat het er prachtig uit zag. de kamer is ruim en gedateerd en is wat aan de muffe kant, maar we komen voor eiland en niet het appartement. qua lokatie zit je goed als je een huur auto heb.rustige lokatie en overal in de buurt. eten op park is goed te doen! qua hygiëne is alles super schoon en elke dag schoon gemaakt in appartement. wij hebben enorm genoten op deze lokatie

Uitstekend verblijf en centraal gelegen.
Bij aankomst op Madeira, Huurauto opgehaald en naar Hotel gereden,ligt ongeveer 10 minuten rijden van vliegveld,. Werden bij aankomst goed ontvangen en naar onze Studio gebracht. ruime en nette kamer. zeer mooi opgezet geheel gelegen in botanische tuin en ruim opgezet, Ontbijt en eten zeer uitgebreid. Hotel is gelegen in het dorpje Cancio, met 2 goede restaurants indien niet willen eten in hotel, prijzen eten goed tot goedkoop. Hoofdstad Funchal op ongeveer 10 minuten rijden van hotel, goede bus en hotel vervoer. Voor indien geen Huurauto, vanuit Hotel elke dag diverse excursie mogelijkheden over gehele eiland mogelijk. Hebben genoten van ons verblijf.

Een geweldige ervaring.
Mooie studio, van alle gemakken voorzien. Keukentje met inrichting, goede bank, luie stoelen voor buiten en ook nog een tafel met stoelen op aan te eten. Prima TV, zelfs ontvangst NL/B tv zender. Ruime badkamer. Groot zwembad, met SPA voor de liefhebbers, diverse bars waar op rekening besteld kan worden. Uitstekend restaurant, a la carte, Thais of buffet. Ook nog apart visrestaurant (geen oordeel, wel mooi gelegen). Bakker om de hoek, super op loopafstand. De appartementen zijn zeer fraai gecombineerd met een schitterende botanische tuin en diverse terrassen on te zitten. Vaak ook uitzicht op zee.

good choice
If you are looking for a comfortable hotel on a nice location.... choose this hotel. There is really nothing 'bad' to mention: all staff members are VERY kind and helpful, rooms are very clean, gardens are beautifull, quality of food in the restaurants is good (and reasonably priced. We spend a week here and the hotel was the perfect base for touring the island with enough parking places available. A supermarket is at 100 mtrs distance. Airport is only 15 min by car. If we go back to Madeira we would definately choose this hotel again.

All good, brilliant place and hotel with great food, and facilities. But we needed access to a firstr aid box one evening and not a single one could be found across the entire hotel. I ended up getting what I needed for an open bar in the town. This needs to be fixed.

Parfait!
Excellent séjour à la Quinta Splendida, qui a largement dépassé nos attentes. Personnel très agréable et toujours prêt à assister. Les jardins très beaux. Les chambres grandes et confortables. Cet hôtel est un vrai havre de paix.

Zunächst bekamen wir ein Zimmer mit Blick auf die Rückseite des Restaurants, das uns enttäuschte - nachts war es zudem in der Umgebung außerhalb sehr laut. Die Bitte um ein Zimmer mit Gartenblick wurde dann freundlich aufgenommen, und wir erhielten ein sehr schönes Zimmer von der äußerst zuvorkommenden schwarzhaarigen Dame an der Rezeption. Alles sehr angenehm, freundlich und sauber mit einer faszinierenden Außenanlage. Auch das Frühstück läßt keine Wünsche offen. Einzig der niedrige Wasserdruck und das stellenweise maximal lauwarme Duschwasser in unserem Zimmer ist ein Kritikpunkt.

We loved our stay here. We didn’t like the first room that they provided us. As it was just few steps away from the pool and you could smell the chlorine while inside and it wasn’t the quiet area obviously! And very exposed. Anyway, we contacted the reception and they kindly changed our room. We didn’t have the best view but better than the 1st one. The rooms don’t have ACs, we asked for a fan which was better than nothing. The room had a nice compact kitchen including fridge, cooking hob and kettle. The bathroom is good. Beds are comfortable but I forgot to ask beforehand for double bed instead of 2 single beds. The staff are very nice, kind and professional. Indoor swimming pool didn’t have a good air ventilation. It would’ve been better to have a nice fresh air down there. Outdoor Swimming pool is a bit small comparing to the size of the complex and the number of guests. Breakfast was good and fresh. Very nice cakes and different types of cheese. The coffee wasn’t good though. The area is absolutely gorgeous. We loved walking around checking the plants and trees and seeing all the butterflies, lizards and bees with the see view. It’s easy to take bus and go to Funchal city centre. However I think if you want to see more of the island in north, you need to hire car. Taxis and Bolt works good there. Bolt is cheeper though. We chose October for our trip as we thought it would be a bit cooler but was hot. We definitely recommend this place.

It was really uncomfortable to stay in a hotel room without air conditioner. I wished I realized it when I booked the reservation. Tried to change to a different hotel but wasn’t allowed. And since I had paid for the room in advance I had no other option but to stay.

I love and would return to this hotel every time. The property is absolutely stunning, the pictures do not do justice. The staff at the reception and throughout the property extremely friendly. The only mishap I had was at the main restaurant during breakfast where one of the waitresses thought it would be ok to harass someone while eating to pay immediately. Otherwise it was spectacular.

Le parc de trois hectares , botanique est "splendide", et les petits bâtiments de l'hôtel se conjuguent avec la végétation. Un séjour de plusieurs jours permet de pleinement apprécier le charme . Les liaisons sont faciles par le bus ou si l'on dispose d'une voiture pour les excursions , outre celles quotidiennement proposées par l'hôtel.

Besonders gefallen hat uns die wunderbare Gartenanlage! Die Lage der Appartments ist recht gut, teilweise aber auch schattiger Außenplatz. Die Restaurantpreise sind im Vergleich zu hoch. Die Speisenauswahl könnte auch breiter sein. Die Einrichtung im Appartment ist ganz gut, nur die Küchenausstattung teilsweise sparsam (Geschirr fehlt teils). Alles sehr sauber, auch freundliches Personal (Reinigung und Rezeption). Zugang zur Nutzung einer Waschmaschine wird vermisst; der Reinigungsservice für Kleidung ist viel zu teuer.

One of our best stays ever. Canico the best place to stay and this place is the best place in Canico although the room we has was dated. An one the room stole a KitKat - strange but true. Ground and garden are truely extra-ordinary and amazing. Restaurants are amazing and th staff and mostly amazing.

Super Anlage. Sehr schöne Gartenanlage. Halbpension mit sehr guter Auswahl am Buffet. Freundliches und sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Taxistand direkt am Hotel - ebenso die Bushaltestelle. Das Taxi nach Funchal (Mercado) kostete 2022 etwas weniger als 18 Euro. Supermarkt keine 100m entfernt. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Tropical feel with nice people
The staff was super nice, the studio beautiful and useful, clean and nice. Supermarket and bakery next door, as well as some restaurants. The plants and flowers in the hotel are just amazing, like living in a botanical garden. Would definitely repeat if I come back to Madeira.

It was a shane that La Perla was not open. I think the Siddartha bar could serve light snacks in the evening as well as during the day. Otherwise our stst was a total delight from every point of view. Our grateful thanks to the splendid staff and of course the garden is a work of art!

Ett fantastisk plats för oss i Norden att resa till för att fylla på med energi under det för oss mörka vinterhalvåret. Vår familjs andra vistelse på detta hotell och vi njuter av den välskötta växtligheten och blomsterprakten utspridd på ett stort område att strosa i och av det fina poolområdet. Mycket fräscha lägenheter med mysfaktor och välutrustad köksdel med exempelvis ugn. Under senaste vistelsen fyllde en av familjemedlemmarna 50 år och det var något som framgick i en mailkonversation med hotellpersonal innan avresa. Det förvånade oss att man från hotellets sida , t ex genom en (enkel) gest vid ankomst till hotellrummet, inte uppmärksammade detta då ju en sådan gest är något som både en jubilar och anhöriga sätter värde på. Småstaden Canico har en trevlig atmosfär och där finns allt som man kan behöva införskaffa inom gångavstånd, även minst en restaurang med varierad meny.

Es gibt immer ein Grund über irgendwas zu meckern, weil man halt nicht zu Hause ist, und bestimmten Dingen anders sind. Aber in ganz und großen waren wir zufrieden mit allem, und daher kamen wir sehr entspannt und ausgeruht wieder zurück von den Aufenthalt trotz sehr viele Unternehmungen.

Vim para fotografar um casamento e desfrutar também de uns dias de descanso. O Hotel é simplesmente maravilhoso, calmo, verdejante, com uma excelente piscina e soberbo seja para descanso ou usufutro do clima e piscina.

Hotel calme avec un très beau parc avec des fleurs et des essences remarquables. Les services proposés par l’hôtel sont complets et un grand merci à Márcio Quintal (qui a une remarquable mémoire des noms de famille) et à son équipe pour leur accueil, leur disponibilité, leur écoute et leurs sourires. Cet hôtel nous avait été recommandé par notre famille qui y avait séjourné en décembre 2017 et à notre tour nous le recommanderons sans problème. De plus, la location de chambres ou de studios avec différentes formules de pension nous laisse une liberté totale que nous avons vivement apprécié.

Der botanische garten und die grösse des zimmers waren toll!schade muss man für einen cappucino und das hallenbad extra bezahlen.

Enastående trädgård/park
Ett mycket välskött hotell med en fantastiskt trädgård eller snarare park. Till det kan läggas en ett fint poolområde med fin utsikt mot havet.

It was a lovely room and we loved every minutes of our stay there. The only thing was that the toilet was a nuisance as we had to flush at least twice and rather uncomfortable to sit, and also the hair dryer was useless.
