KUNSTENAARS & HOEKEN INN

Veel parkeergelegenheid op straat voor al uw waterspeelgoed! 150 meter lang zandstrand met overhangende wilgen om de panvissen dicht te houden voor kustvissen. We zijn bezig met het bouwen van een zandbak voor wanneer het waterpeil hoog is en ons strand onder water staat, evenals een visreinigingsloods met schermen, licht en water, evenals een ruimte om je spullen 's nachts op te sluiten (neem je eigen hangslot mee) We hebben twee aanlegsteigers! De boothelling is een korte rit rond de baai naar het zuiden. Voor onze collega-kunstenaars hebben we een helder klaslokaal opgezet met uitzicht op Madison Lake. Het heeft 12 bureaus met schildersezels en penseelhouders, tekentafels en een grootse eikenhouten schildersezel, opbergkast, extra klapstoelen en krukken die allemaal uitkijken op het meer. Ideaal voor logeerpartijtjes of gewoon een avondje wijn- en kaasverffeestjes! Geweldig als extra optie voor meer slaapruimte bij het huren van onze Log Inn # HA9246925, twee percelen verderop, voor 24 personen en met veel extra sociale ruimtes! Scrapbookers welkom!

Large lakehouse with game room

Our extended family had a fun 5 night stay on Madison Lake. We had 6 adults and 4 kids. There is a large game room with a pool table, ping pong, fooseball, keyboard, and a variety of games and toys, and a 2nd fridge. The kitchen is large and well stocked with pots and pans and dishes galore, and a Kuerig coffee machine. They even provided some snacks, waters, and a couple bottles of wine! What a nice surprise! We enjoyed time by the lake having a fire in the fire pit and playing corn hole toss. We went kayaking few times - we were surprised to see 7 kayaks! One day we used 6 kayaks together. We swam off the dock - its pretty shallow and sandy bottom, some seaweed, but not bad. I had a good communication line with Dorothy and any questions or needs were responded to immediately. She stopped by the first day to introduce herself and make sure we had everything we needed. Jerry is super nice too. The kids loved having so much room to play inside. We spent quite a bit of time painting at the easels - such a great setup! I brought some watercolor paper and paints, and a couple of the kids spent hours each day painting. 2 BRs are upstairs - I got the room with a sun room overlooking the lake - it was so peaceful! There is a 2nd BR upstairs with a shared bath, 1 BR off the kitchen with ensuite bath, and an 'apartment' downstairs with 2 beds, a living area and full bath. The bedding was really nice, with soft brushed cotton sheets and soft fluffy blankets.Great spot, super hosts.

We had a wonderful family reunion here. The lake was amazing. Loved seeing the swans and geese swim. The house was comfortable with a well stocked kitchen! We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful and secluded. Lots of space for activities. The beds exceeded expectations, towels for showers were plentiful. Private parking lot accommodated our six vehicles without issue. The kitchen was fully furnished. We did not need the additional kitchen tools that we brought ourselves.

Of Mice and Men

House was basically as described. Definite musty smell as you enter. Property manager showed up unannounced to "just say hi" while we were out in front of the house so didn't hear the doorbell. This was followed by text messages (that we didn't see because phones were not in hand) asking permission for owner (who lives right next door) to come inside to check mouse traps that were set throughout the house (or just to make sure we left doors open as instructed by the notes that were attached to them ie-a "greenhouse" type of room that was likely source of mice and musty smell was to remain open at all times). Overall- stay was good- beds comfortable. Just felt a little too intrusive- definitely aware we were in someone else's home and not "alone" for the weekend.

Perfect for a family stay

We rented this property and the Log Inn for a family stay and had a wonderful time painting, enjoying the lake on a pontoon boat from a local rental place, and just taking in the beautiful lawn.

Great Family Time

Our family enjoyed our week at Artists & Anglers. There were eight of us with plenty of room for everyone. The game room was great for those times when everyone was inside and doing various activities. The kitchen had everything we needed. The hill to the lake was okay for our party, but for anyone who has mobility issues, it would be a challenge to go up and down, if you wanted to get to the lake. There was plenty to do!

Nice place near Mankato

Overall it was really good. They were impacted by all the flooding in their county so the dock was damaged and they lost some beach in front of the house, but they had another dock available on the other property next to us so no problem. There is also a swimming beach 5min down the road and that was really nice. Great game room for the kids and the artists easels allowed the kids to paint and have some fun that way too. The house is older, but is in good shape-they were receptive to suggestions we made to make it better, so that part was good. Recommend you consider this one!

Graduation

The good things—property was clean, a nice setting. Dorothy was very sweet and helpful and they left wine and snacks for us which was a really nice surprise! They also left water in every room and the decor was vintage and charming. They stocked it really well with paper towel, soap, etc. The not so good— bugs were bad-mosquitoes, flies and ants inside and out. I’m not sure but I think they were getting in from the greenhouse area that we were told to keep open (into the house). Disappointed in the lake as it wasn’t one I’d swim in—it was dirty (more like river water) but definitely a good fishing lake. Overall we had a good time!

Family Reunion gathering

We had a wonderful time in our short stay at Artists and Anglers - we all wished we had more time to really enjoy the lake, the amazing game room and all the other amenities! The house was lovely, clean and comfortable. And the hosts had the kitchen stocked with snacks and beverages - an unexpected and appreciated extra touch! The amenities were as listed and more, the fall colors were beautiful, the hosts were easy to communicate with and friendly — everything was 5 stars! Perfect Getaway for Teens and Parents

The house was perfect for our group of older kids and two adults. There are many fun things to do on the property and we took advantage of them all (game room, fishing, kayaks, relaxing, outdoor yard play, watching football, video games with our own system we brought). More than we expected

We had no idea that the property came with kayaks, a paddle boat, other boats, and life jackets. We also didn’t know that it would be stocked with toys. All of these extras made our stay wonderful. We wish we had been able to stay and enjoy the place, but we were joyfully busy because our son and daughter-in-law got married in Elysian at Ahavah Cottage and this property was less than five miles from the venue. It was perfect.

Great place with many fun activites!

We enjoyed our stay! A few family members drove up from out of state to honor our mother in a Celebration of Life. We were able to prepare a large meal in the fully equipped kitchen. It was a peaceful location to enjoy the view of the lake. We were able to utilize the kayaks a couple times. Fishing off the dock was amazing! So many fish!! The kids and adults enjoyed the gameroom. A few of us were even able to get a little watercolor painting in, during the tranquil early mornings. Only recommendation for everyone.. make sure you bring plenty of bug spray! Mosquitoes were out in full force! The owners were very attetive to any need as it arose. We will definitely stay here again for our next visit.
