Precioso y único
Es un lugar estupendo, disfrutamos de un viaje a Roma en una suite bellísima en pleno corazón de Madrid, en Opera. Maravilloso, para repetir y recomendar, personal muy amable, atento y servicial.

Se quedaron con el dinero y no estaba abierto
No había nadie en el hotel cuando llegue. Nadie atendió el teléfono antes de llegar. Cobraron la habitación y tuve que buscar otro hotel

Estimado Luis, Ahora es que estoy viendo su comentario. Debido a su reservación muy tardía a la 23h26 la misma noche no estamos esperándolo y aunque había alguien en el hostal a esta hora no estaba pendiente del timbre y no lo ha oído. Nosotros tratamos a nuestros clientes con el mejor servicio que se pueda y lamentamos el caso y le hemos ofrecido un cambio de fecha. Como le he explicado nosotros tenemos que cobrar la estadía porque hay una comisión que pagar a las paginas que promocionan nuestro establecimiento. Como usted puede ver los otros comentarios en expedia, booking siempre tenemos un 10 como este incidente no ha sido completamente nuestra culpa le invito a por favor borrarlo de esta pagina que nos vas a afectar mucho y no refleja la realidad de nuestro hostal y todos los esfuerzos y buenos tratos a nuestra clientela. Everything’s perfect
Location was perfect for visiting most places, right across the street is the metro station, tons of places to grab food, staff are courteous and helpful, room is clean and comfortable.

There is not sign for the hotel, it took us 2 hours to find it after we got help from another hotel. The only thing is a buzzer label on a wall 3 by 2 cm. The place is loaded with old antique objects and although the place is renovated, the smell is compelling.

Excelente ubicación, a 50 m del subte y a pocas cuadras de la Plaza Mayor. La habitación muy confortable. Y muy interesante la decoración de los cuartos. En la esquina tiene un café muy bueno para desayunar o comer algún plato. Enfrente del teatro. Qué más se puede pedir?

Lovely stay away
Me and my friend where in madrid over the weekend. She was set on hostel but having never stayed in a hostel myself we settled on the comfort of a hotel and this place was extremely fairly priced while still being close to everyrhing. It was very quirky. The room we stayed in for the room with the bathroom and shower in the cloest space itw as odd but honestly still lovely. The air con was great, the bed was nice and hard with was perfect. The staff where so freiendly and nice they had the room ready early, didnt push us to rush out and let us leave our bags there after check out. Its really not as hard to find as people make it out to be its literally right at the opera metro stop. The cleaners where so attentive and the bedding and towels where changed daily. Honestly couldnt reccommend it enough.

Mat och Vin i Madrid
Hotellet är inrymt i ett lägenhetshus vilket gör det svårt att hitta. På kvällen är det tre portar att komma igenom med nycklar och koder innan man kommit in på hotellet. Det är mycket lyhört och knarrigt. I övrigt är hotellet som ett museum. Personalen har svårt för engelska vilket försvårar kommunikationen.

Feeling at home right next to the Royal Palace
Amazing little hotel, inside a classic Spanish home of the 19th century. Welcoming staff from Reception to Cleaning personnel. Restaurants around are very high quality and all is reasonably priced. A large table, sufficient chairs to hold a small meeting, kettle and coffee available.

Good price but i was disappointed when how you can hear what's happening in the room next to you. I woke up to an after party happening in the room next to me at 8 am and it feels like im sleeping between them.

Séjour à Madrid
L'hotel est très bien situé ,à deux pas du métro ( mais on a tout fait à pied). La chambre est très spacieuse , dans un appartement magnifique . L'accueil est très chaleureux et sympathique. Tout cela a contribué pour que l'on passe un super séjour à Madrid. Je recommande vivement cet hotel

Stylish and interesting.
A very interesting hotel with a lot of space, just 2 minutes walk from King's Palace and 10 meters far from Theatre Real Opera. Rooms are full of old things and antiques, also some furniture is from "those times", which gives the atmosphere of aristocrats. Nice decor, several places to communicate - sit & eat, sofas, separate bedroom, multiple wardrobes with kitchen equipment. Very good experience.

Great 1 night stay - so much character- recommend
Tricky to find. Is the big green (residential) door next to the cafe restaurant. A warm welcome and lots of local advice offered. A fantastic room with so much character. Couldn’t get WiFi working and shower was mostly cold. We only stayed one night so not too much of an issue. Highly recommended for a short stay if want somewhere full of character. Clean and friendly. Some parts of the day there are no staff around.

Good location it is an old building. There is no fire escape. It is not in great condition. Room was quaint and good bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Not a 24 hour receptionist, feels more like an apartment, without cooking facilities.

If you expect an international standard hotel you will be disappointed. Although this accommodation is quirky and has some charm it lacks the amenities of a “hotel”. There is no signage so it’s very difficult to find and many of the fittings are in need of replacement. Our room had no toilet door, there are no room numbers, many floor rugs are loose fitting and a trip hazard. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The location is good but there is some noise from the square .

Found it, its a strange hotel - the host couldnt speak english but was charming. Gave us a room that had a bathroom in a cupboard - we didnt like it - so they changed it to a rather lovely room with Pillars. It was different.

You wanna experience this in Madrid!
If you want to get a real deep experience in Spainish culture, this is one of the things you should do - stay in Escala Opera. We stayed for 2 nights, and really appreciated the gorgeous deco full of historical taste, just as the images show. It was a bit difficult to find it at the beginning because it is one story of a 200 something years old building with the large green main gate shut sometimes. But the staff were very friendly. Location was perfect, the Opera metro station is just at the doorstep. Room was spacious and comfortable. The shower facility could use some upgrade, which is the only room for improvement. Definitely an experience!

Ambience felt like being “home” not at a hotel.
Excellent staff and very helpful and accommodating. Although in the center of Madrid across from Opera, it was a very quiet room. Spacious and elegant.
