Don't lose your money there
The girl who received us was very friendly and she gave us the room very fast, however, the man who cares the hostel during evenings is very rude and he was beating the doors all the time and when the phone rang he screamed and cursed very angry. (Yes, you can hear everything from your room). One day they forgot to give us towels and the man was annoyed because we asked for towels, other day they didn't put tissue paper in the toilet and again, the man was annoyed because I went to his room to ask for toilet paper. The toilet was clean and room as well, but when you go for vacation somewhere, the least you can expect is to be treated with cordiality which was not the case.

Basic hostel in centrum Madrid
In een smal achterafstraatje in het centrum van Madrid vind je dit hostel. Het hostel bevindt zich in een appartementen complex. In totaal kent dit hostel zo'n 5 kamers. We werden ontvangen door de vrouw en de heer des huizes die uitsluitend Spaans spraken. Ouderwets met handen en voeten praten. Onze kamer was klein 1,80 x 4,00 met een, zoals je kunt raden, klein tweepersoons bed. Vanuit een smal raam hadden we uitzicht op een blinde muur. De kamer was schoon en de kleine badkamer met douche voldoende. Wel was het pand erg gehorig. Eten, drinken, ontbijten kun je niet in dit hostel. Wanneer je niet teveel eisen stelt aan je kamer en voornamelijk buiten de deur in de stad verblijft dan is dit een goedkope overnachtingsmogelijkheid.

Posizione ottima, l'alloggio è situato in pieno centro, a due passi da Gran Via, in una zona molto tranquilla e vicino ai principali servizi. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo avuto dei problemi con il check-in ma il personale si è dimostrato molto attento e gentile e ci ha seguito in tutti i passaggi. Unica pecca della camera sono le pareti, così sottili che si sente qualsiasi rumore provenire dalle stanze accanto....

A pesar de que no había recepción, el personal fue muy atento cuando lo necesité. Si es cierto que esto debería anunciarse más claramente en la descripción, pues no todo el mundo se siente cómodo haciendo un proceso de check in online. En el baño, había algunos aspectos que mejorar: no había mampara en la ducha y había un fuerte olor a cañerías. También eché en falta unos colgadores para las toallas.

No limpiaron el cuarto en ningún momento. La cama está instalada en un frame que no está fijo. Al baño le faltaba el cristal justo de el lado de la ducha y se salía todo el agua. No había explicación de cómo funcionaban los equipos, si te daba calor o frío. En mi país no se necesita calefacción por lo que es nuevo para nosotros. No tienen servicio de guardar las maletas antes o después del check in o check out. Nos tocó para la calle y en la noche hasta casi las 5:00 am, había tanto ruido que casi no se podía dormir. Lo mejor del lugar es ka localización.

El check in hay que hacerlo online y es un poco más tedioso que cuando te atiende una persona. No había pomo en la puerta aunque las instrucciones indicaban que sí, tuve que llamar a atención al cliente para que me indicaran cómo entrar.

El aire acondicionado de dos habitaciones en las que estuve no estaban en condiciones de tener a una inquilina dentro. La primer Habitacion tenía el aire acondicionado con aire caliente y la segunda habitación a la que me cambiaron por el mismo tema tenía el aire acondicionado apagado. Pase mucho calor.

La entrada al alojamiento es infernal. Y no sólo dicho por mi acompañante y yo, otro huésped también intentaba entrar y le sucedieron los mismos problemas para acceder a su habitación que a nosotros. En definitiva, creo que deberían apostar más por el factor humano, dando una bienvenida mucho más acogedora y dejar a un lado las tecnologías que cierto es son muy útiles, no sustituyen en este caso lo que podría haber sido una bienvenida mucho más grata.

Yo lo cogí por la ubicación, está al lado de la Gran Vía, el baño e todo nuevo, es amplio, la limpieza bien. Si quieres algo céntrico y que sólo vallas a dormir perfecto, lo que me parece más imcomo que la recepción sea toda por teléfono.

We like their location for: Convenient, cleanliness and safe because it is next to city policy station. But the room is small like a bird cage, only 1 pillow for 2 people, and warning for the first time foreigners (non-Spanish speaking) in Madrid like us: You should be prepared to deal with non-English people :(. It took us 2 hrs for looking, waiting and dealing with the building and meet the registration guy. They post a phone number on the door and ask you to do online check in but my phone could not contact them and and internet network is slow like s.ht. Do not book this property if you visit Madrid on the 1st time and have no Spanish speaking experiences.

Read this one! It's a gem!!
After reading the dismal reviews I was a little apprehensive. I can assure you that this place is a great little place to stay. Good location, quiet, refurbed, clean. Only downsides I can think of are no curtain in room so no alarm clock for me...nature's alarm clock made sure I was up and at em at 7am ☀️☀️, the shower bracket was a bit dodgy but managed to get a workable angle to get clean. The cleaner was super friendly and the check in process( although unconventional) was relatively straightforward if you follow the rules. To stay in the centre of Madrid for 30euros a night? With a private bathroom? It's a no brainer! Thanks for a great stay

Perfect place to stay in madrid for a low budget
Despite all the bad reviews, has been one of the best low-cost experience i've ever done in an hotel. It's placed in a perfect position, the room was clean and well organized.

Nunca, en 20 años que vengo a Madrid, he recibido un servicio tan malo ! La puerta rota ! La recepción en línea pésima !!! Debes completar formularios, escanear documento de identidad y enviarlo !! Se tardan mucho y luego por WhatsApp te llaman para darte un código para las llaves !! Que no funcionaba. Quien atendió la llamada fue grosero insinuando que yo me equivocaba, para terminar enviando otro código !!! Un desastre. Por último, iba con una colega que necesitaba guardar maletas un par de horas antes de viajar, y no à quedarse en la habitación. No front desk, luggage storage, towels, toiletries
Contrary to the property description on hotels.com, there was no front desk or luggage storage. There were also no towels or toiletries provided, despite me chasing for them several times. The window blind was also not fixed so I could not open the window and had no fresh air or natural light during the stay. There was a lot of noise from refuse collection on the street outside, late at night and early in the morning. There was also noise from scaffolding construction work during the day. The lock was broken when I arrived and I had to wait two hours for it to be fixed. I asked for an email to send complaints to but got no reply.

The room was small but clean and near all of the major attractions. Customer service was terrible though and no one is physically present at the hostel. I wrote them about a month prior to my trip and again the week prior with some questions and never heard back. Most of the times that you call you won't get answered and the check in process was confusing and unprofessional. It was all done over the phone and the woman I spoke to was constantly bickering with someone else and ended up yelling at me for not doing something she hadn't even told me to do. They need you to send them a picture of your passport via whatsapp, which frankly felt a bit shady. If it hadn't been for the maintenance ladies who stepped out of their way to help me, I would have never checked in. Once inside, I realized the room's lock wasn't working and I tried to call their number but of course had no response. Several other guests during my stay had similar experiences. I stayed because it was already paid for but spent my entire stay praying I didn't have to talk to them again.

Problème dès l'arrivé à l'hôtel car il n'y a pas de réception, vous parlez à un téléphone, délai d'attente de 15 minutes! La chambre n'est jamais nettoyé ni même le linge changé... nous avons du demander un changement de serviette pourtant il est préciser "ménage quotidien". Aucune poubelle vidé durant la semaine. Sans parler de la chambre, vous ouvrez la fenêtre qui donne dans une cour intérieur ou vous sentez la cuisine toute la journée... vraiment séjour inconfortable et hôtel très très simple et peu agréable

Avoid!!! Only good thing is the location
Avoid this place at all costs, the only good thing about it is the location! We arrived at the hotel tired and wearisome after a 4 hour journey from Valencia and just wanted to get settled in. However, there was nobody at the property to welcome us and we had to phone the telephone number that was on the door to let the owner know we had arrived. After about 10 mins, the owner arrived with the keys and let us into our room but he spoke no english. Our first thoughts were that the room was very small for 2 people but that was just the beginning. After using the bathroom, we found that the toilet didnt flush properly and that the tv did not work and had 'no signal'. The room had a small balcony attached so we pulled up the shutter to get a better view and found that we couldnt get the shutter back down. We emailed the owner and asked if he could fix it but we got no reply after 4 days which meant we had no shutter/curtains to keep the sun from waking us up each morning. We hated being in this room so spent as much time sightseeing and being out and about as possible. The only good thing is the location - it is just a one minute walk from the gran via and callao metro station which was perfecf for us. However, next time we will definitely pay slightly extra for somewhere upmarket.
Shutter got stuck so we had no curtains to keep out the sun for 3 nights

I really can not review this place low enough. Firstly, they did not speak any English, as advertised in their posting, which makes check in extremely complicated-as you have to gain access through a main door of a building, but if they never answer, you will not get access. They advertise to call during certain times, but still no answer, or you get "no English", and they hang up. The area is off the beaten track, and a little sketchy, there are too many people hanging around the entrance watching you, and if you do get access to the building, there are twice as many in the building standing around. I did not get access to the room that I paid for, due to them answering and hanging up on me. All in all, it is not a safe location, clean location, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. Please, pay a little extra and try to stay in something safer.
