  • Mountain Joy Cottage # 3, Owl Lodge, is een 5 slaapkamers, 4. 5 badkamer (2 met jacuzzi) lodge die 15 kan slapen.

    Oorspronkelijk was het de thuisbasis van Maggie Setzer, voor wie Maggie Valley werd genoemd, het land waar Mountain Joy zit, is een speciale plaats. U zult betoverd raken door zijn bergcharme, familiale sfeer en karakter. Wij bieden alle moderne gemakken die u zou verwachten met het hele jaar door toegang en afscheiding die zeer weinig kunnen bieden.

    Geniet van de rustige landelijke omgeving van onze huisjes. We hebben cottages met één, twee en vier slaapkamers, allemaal uitgerust met open haarden, kabel-tv, internet en keukens die klaar staan om een zelfgemaakte maaltijd te bereiden. Buiten hebben de veranda's schommelstoelen, zodat u kunt genieten van uw koffie in de ochtend of 's avonds kunt genieten van de zonsondergang op de bergen. Ons glazen omheind buitenzwembad (seizoensgebonden) biedt een heerlijke plek om te ontspannen.

    Mountain Joy Cottages zijn centraal gelegen in het hart van Maggie Valley, op slechts een straat verwijderd van Setzer Cove Road, met gemakkelijke toegang tot alle bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving. We zijn slechts enkele minuten verwijderd van de Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway en het Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Het gebied is vol met ambachtelijke, antieke en souvenirwinkels. In de vrije natuur kunt u paardrijden, golfen op bergcursussen in de omgeving, vissen op forel in beekjes, wildwaterraften en mooie tochten maken. Sneeuw skiën en slangen is beschikbaar voor het hele gezin in het skigebied Cataloochee. Het nachtleven omvat alles van Jazz tot Bluegrass, verstopping of entertainment voor het diner. Onze huisjes zijn slechts een korte rit naar de Great Smoky Mountain Railway, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Cherokee Indian Reservation en Harrah's Casino en het historische centrum van Waynesville.

    Ongeacht het seizoen hebben Mountain Joy Cottages en Great Smokies iets heel speciaals te bieden. Van de wildflowers van de lente, naar de gloed van kleuren in de herfst of de rust van de winter, kom bezoek en maak blijvende herinneringen bij Mountain Joy Cottages.

House is great for large group. There was 10 of us. It is an older cabin, but was very clean. It was perfect for our group & plenty of parking for our vehicles. Area was quiet. Close to everything we needed to be close to. No crazy roads - easy access

This is our 3rd stay at Mtn. Joy Owl cabin. The large size works great for our family. The little ones enjoy the fishing. The elk never disappoint. The pool is nice, and cold (just like a mountain stream). Even though the cabin could use a little extra love, the size fits our needs and we know what to expect at this point.

It was just off the main road in Maggie Valley, making it so easy to get to anything on your plans. Sitting on the porch relaxing was awesome. Watch lots of butterflies around the butterfly bushes was great. Even had Elk show up and put on a show in our front yard. Yes we would rent this place again.

Great place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maggie Valley. The property is great and was plenty spacious for our large family that includes several children. We got to see elk and ducks right in the front yard several times each day! The cabin was well stocked and for the most part clean. The dishwasher did not work, one tv was broken and another was missing a remote that we later found under a bed. But all in all it was totally worth it and we are already planning our trip for next year :)

Grands enjoyed the pool and basketball court. I loved the feel that it was secluded area with easy access, but yet right near the main area of town. My only negative was missing a pitcher (which we bought a plastic from DG and left)and no baking sheets. We did our cooking at home mostly so enjoyed the stocked kitchen. Especially looked forward to our daily elk visits. We identified at least 6 different ones. Loved watching them. Yes, I would rent again and recommend. This would be awesome for something like a family reunion where each could rent their own cottage yet have all of the outside common space, fire pit, pool, playground, basketball court.

The only complaint I had was that 3 of the 5 bathrooms had no toilet paper when we arrived. We had to go buy it, which for the price charged I feel the owner should supply toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. The space was great and the large kitchen table was great for games. The room layout was perfect for the family. Would rent again.

The family enjoys the pool, watching elk meander through at times, dropping a line in the pond, taking walks, or sitting in the porch watching a little game of badminton in the front yard. We grill and cook meals but also enjoy local restaurants like Joey’s and Butts on the Creek. We also enjoy the local festivals in Maggie Valley or Waynesville

Disappointed

The property is a nice property, but with no one showing it any love. I rented this cabin for my sister’s 70th birthday with 4 couples, all over 60. It was extremely dusty and dirty. So dusty, that I started sneezing as soon as I stepped in the door and my throat got scratchy to the point I took an allergy tablet. Spider webs in corners with spiders attached. Ants in the kitchen. I’m glad my husband and I got there early to decorate. We had to literally clean and dust before decorating . We had no choice out of town family was due there in a couple of hours and I didn’t want to be embarrassed by renting it and I couldn’t get a refund. I didn’t want to ruin my sisters birthday weekend. We definitely left it better than when we got there. My brother even had to fix a couple of items. We have pics. All and all I’m just glad my sister had a great time!

Great first time cabin experience.

It was a nice, roomy home with everything a family needed for that home away from home experience with a whole lot more to offer. Grandkids are ready to go back now

Owl Lodge great for multiple families. Needs thorough cleaning.

If you can get past an occasional stink bug and dust bunnies, Owl lodge is a great location for multiple families. The pond was great for kids fishing and the basketball hoop and open central area were perfect for our 4-11 year olds. A total of 13 in our group of all ages fit comfortably. Impressive kitchen equipment selection available. Clean linens and lots of towels, but needed all floors cleaned in and around furniture. Although many lights did not function and fans were all covered in layers of dust, we would stay again!
