The apartment and location is very nice, close to the beach as well as restaurants and stores. The apartment itself was clean with clean sheets and towels.
The landlord is nice until you point out that something is wrong.
The first night the air heater didn’t work because the batteries in the remote had gone bad (very much oxidation). I asked for new batteries the next day and the landlord replied that everything had worked just fine two weeks earlier.
Despite our agreement that he would change the batteries that evening he didn’t show up or call. After a second rather unpleasant phone call with him, he agreed to change them the following day.
When he arrived, I notified him that the hot water had run out only a few minutes in to the shower. His response was “When you leave this place there will be five or six different faults..”
The next day a “specialist” raised the temperature on the boiler. This made it possible for one person to take a normal shower but if you wanted to do the dishes or have two persons take a shower (not long, not very hot and even with three/four hours apart) the hot water still ran out.
The kitchen fan doesn’t work but since the fire-alarm isn’t working either (no battery) this not a big deal. You can still open both the balcony and front door to get rid off the cooking odours..
I didn’t wash anything in the washing machine but the hatch wouldn’t close and as soon as you pressed ON it started filling up with water despite the unclosed hatch.
(The things mentioned above have been brought to the landlord’s attention and may have been corrected since we left.)
