Prachtige plek om te ontspannen
We verbleven hier voor 4 nachten. Het is in het midden van het regenwoud zodat u in slaap met de geluiden van de dieren 's nachts vallen. We hadden een diner en ontbijt hier die geweldig waren. Nigel is een geweldige kok en supervriendelijk! Zorg ervoor dat smaak een ander rum elke avond. Nigel maakt ze zelf. Als je geluk hebt krijgt u begroet in de ochtend door Sally, Happy of Scotty 3 honden. De kamers zijn heel mooi. Neem een duik in de rivier tegenover de lodge. Gelieve uw reisgegevens door dat een auto is een must als je rond te geraken. We hadden een geweldige tijd. Iedereen die er werkt zorgde goed voor ons! Wij zijn zeer dankbaar dat ze daar verbleven.

Beautiful location in the middle of the rainforest. To wake every morning to the sounds of the rainforest was divine…. The hammock got very well used! The property is close to Douglas Charles airport, which is great, but it is extremely isolated if you don’t have your own car. It wasn’t easy to persuade tours to pick up here as most operated from Roseau on the other side of the island. The staff are extremely hard working and very kind The only problem with my stay is that I requested pick up from the airport when I arrived in Dominica. I supplied all my details by email and this was confirmed. Unfortunately it didn’t happen though, which is very disconcerting when landing in a country very different to your own when it is dark. I had to resort to using a local taxi, which to say was terrifying is probably an understatement! Think curvy mountain roads at speed and overtaking on blind bends. Driver laughed at me when I asked him to slow down Unfortunately this did not create a good first impression, but it was more than made up for by the rest of my stay which was exceptional! Particular love to the 2 Hibiscus dogs who are gorgeous! A small kettle in each room would be appreciated. As the property is so isolated it isn’t a case of walking somewhere to get a hot drink once breakfast is over. Also, either leaving some cool water out during the day for guests to top up water bottles or providing bottled water would be a good touch- not easy to obtain water with no car.

This place is genuinely a quaint rustic piece of paradise. The grounds are beautifully preserved by a delightful force of experts…. Special shout out to Auggie…. The meals are lovingly and expertly prepared by Sunshine, Rita, Nigel and Omahry….. and companionship is granted by Ginger and Spice…. It felt like home

What a hidden gem. Welcoming staff, lovely rooms, excellent food, & close to the river for a dip (they offer tubing trips too). Fairly close to the airport so easy to get a ride if you don't rent a car.

What a funky quaint place to stay. It was very rustic but comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Food was good and enjoyed meeting the other people staying there. There are six bungalows and set breakfast and dinner times. You eat what they have cooked for the meal. We liked it. They do accommodate for special food needs. We stayed there one night before we went to the airport. Very reasonable.

It's rustic and reasonably priced. However it iwas very difficult to get in touch with the property as I planned my stay. Additionally, I feel as if the owner is maladapted to dealing with minority races. She was extremely unhelpful when we asked for an international wall socket attatchment. She flat out said they have nothing like that here and can't help. We were in the wash room returning a wash basin as I had hand washed delicate clothing the night before at my cottage after returning very laye from a hike. The next morning in the process of returing the wash tools she came down to the wash room to tell us we ought not to be there and disappointing. The staff on the orher hand was amazing, friendly and helpful.

Comfortable and relaxing. Rooms are very clean despite the natural setting being immersed in garden and surrounded by jungle. Food and drinks at the on site restaurant were excellent. Offers tours including river tubing directly from the hotel which was a lot of fun and suitable for young kids. If you have a car it is less than 15 minutes to several tourist sites, adjacent towns, and airport. Great staff and a really positive vibe. My family and i really enjoyed our stay.

If you like the idea of being in a hot tree house without TV - this is for you. The place was clean and the cook made yummy food for lunch! They are easy going here and will help if you ask them for it.

About the Nature Bungalow, we think you must have booked the wrong room, we have no TV in those rooms and it is informed, to be natural, wood is a good material. We do have upgraded rooms with TV and Ac and other amnities for your comfort.

What a great relaxing stay at Hibiscus Inn!! The staff was wonderful, the food delicious and the setting was just what I wanted - quiet and private! I would rent a car next time since getting around the island is limited but I walked to the ocean, had waterfall and whale watching tours booked through the hotel's Eco-tours company, or tubed the river across the street every day!! Lots to do!! Thank you Hibiscus - Nora, Nigel, Omari, Rita and Karen!

Good value and nice play to stay.
A great place to stay. We just had a single night there before flying out of Dominica, but it was perfect. Nigel was very helpful and his dog Spice was gorgeous! We had a relaxing couple of beers and then some good food before an early night (as it was an early flight to Barbados).

toute petite chambre, avec 1 vieux ventilateur bruyant, dans un bungalow dans le jardin. On m’a fait payer ma chambre alors que Hotels.com m’a déjà fait payer. Attention,Tout est à la tête du client pour les suppléments( repas, boissons, services). La wi-fi fonctionne très mal. Inutile de penser à l’utiliser en continu ! L’hôtel est en bord de route, on entend les voitures passer...

This is absolutely the perfect place to stay in Dominica. First, the property is beautiful...in the jungle! Second, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful...seeet people! And thirdly, the dinners and drinks in the on site restaurant and bar are the very best I’ve had ever. Caribbean cuisine at its finest...and the best part? Very inexpensive! You’d pay three times the amount for that kind of quality in the US.

Traumhafte Unterkunft mitten in der Natur!
Einfach traumhaft!! Wer die Natur liebt, wird auch diese Unterkunft lieben. Schöne einfache Bungalows mitten im Grünen. Sehr gutes Frühstück, dass Karin und die anderen Mädchen jeden Früh mit viel Liebe zubereiten. Nigel zaubert jeden Abend ein sehr gutes Essen auf die Teller. Zu Weihnachten gab es zwei leckere Truthähne. Kai und Nora Ihr macht das toll und habt ein tolles Team. Alles Liebe und Gute von Ute&Karsten

What a gem!
I loved my stay at Hibiscus Valley Inn! It has everything I wanted in a vacation in Dominica: he setting, the wonderful meals, the tours that were offered. The staff is thoughtful and kind, and as many other reviewers have commented, Nigel is an incredible chef. I stayed in a cabin, which was basic as I expected but very comfortable. I usually like to travel independently and don't tend to book tours, but driving in Dominica is not for the faint of heart, and the guides we met were just wonderful. We did things I would have never done by myself, like a hike into the woods where we cooked lunch on an open fire by the river. Other highlights were Titou Gorge, Indian River, Kalinago Barana Aute and Emerald Pool. Hibiscus Valley Inn makes it very easy to explore the island, and at the same time has none of the 'corporate' feel that you get in resorts. It's a family-run business, using local guides and growing much of its own food right on site - it's one of those places that is so hard to come by, and I would warmly recommend it.

Very warm and welcomming staff. Treated us like a family. Easy and quick tour orginize for our short stay. Excillent dinner, Nigel is one of the best cheif you can ever imagen. Best food we had in Dominica. Excellent. Fun to interact with the other guests for dinner. Breakfast too all very delicious and nutrious. Its just worth lying in the hammock while watching the Hummingbirds and Lizards in the wounderful garden. The natural pool just amazing for a swim just before breakfast. Not luxurious but everything is comfortable and just right. Totaly new renovated bungalow room. Fresh, cozy and clean.

I loved the location! Each bungalow is surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The sound of the river in the distance was delightful while relaxing on the porch. Other than that, the place is poorly kept. It’s in high need of renovations and maintenance. Firstly the numbers on their website and Expedia’s site are wrong. We were finally able to arrange a pick up by the hotel but the driver was unrecognizable and drunk (We almost took another taxi). The room we paid for was not the one given to us. The room had cracks in every corner which let through all the insects in (we had spiders, crickets, walking sticks Wood beetles). It was not a pleasure to have these insects crawl on us at night. The bungalows should be completely sealed and treated. Our face basin was blocked so it was a disaster to use. They finally fixed it the day before we were leaving. The bed was as hard as wood! It was horrible as we would toss and turn throughout the night and wake up with sores. The staff was kind enough to put two small mattresses to ease the pain. Breakfast was very deceiving; 1 waffle machine for everyone so it took forever, Broken toaster, and only a very small portion of eggs, Cold coffee that we had to pump ourselves. Nothing else ! Dinner was very good. It’s set menu so we didn’t always eat there. No local drinks only water and alcohol. A real bummer for this type of hotel. Overall we enjoyed our excursions but not the hotel. Luckily the staff was kind to ease the disappointment.

We are doing some last bit of renovation after the Maria. This I must say is an accucation which is not thru. The driver was not DRUNK, and he had a sign. You had a dissagreement , about he didnt want to take you somewhere. This is an serious accusation. Yes a nature bungalow room Well all the insect you mention must have come from the open door and you had window net. It is treated and again you booked the wrong room for your comfort, the semidelux rooms do have all that what you needed and more too. Im sorry about the facebasin. Dominica dont have shopps not open on a sunday everything is not so quick in Dominica. You must have had a good sleep anyway. There will always be one in a 1000 who have problem with one or another thing. The beds are not old. Sorry but there was a good breakfast, you get a plate with eggs sallad and always a local dish, on the buffe table there were cereal , you was served fruit and local fresh juice, coffe and tea was at the table as well as the waffel maschine, unfourtunatly our doubble maschine stop to function and replaced .Yes the toaster was 2 of the 4 bread pices broken. If it was not enough one can always ask our nice staff for a bit more we have a standard serving. Oh yes we serve bread sometimes homemade bread, also homemade marmelade 2 different once and a cream herb seasoned cheese Yes we have a main dish every evening and if one dont eat it or whish for something ealse or allergic, vegetarian or vegan we cater for that too. Never been a problem. We have local drinks, dakiri , juice djungel juice, coke, sprite shandy, ginger ale, soda water. Yes the staff is nice and helpfull, Dominica suffering still after the hurrican in a lot of areas we still fighting to get back. You booked the wrong room type for your stay. NO Marijuana smoking sign will be made. Got complain from neighboring guests.

A wonderful time!
A wonderful place with great service and staff. We stsyed at a family bungalow. We ate all our meals at Hibiscus which was pure joy! Nigel made the most wonderful dinners! We did a lot of nice tours and our guide Reggie was great and adjusted the tours to suit our two kids! Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
