Firstly, the staff were very kind and attentive at this establishment and the feedback is in no way shape or form a reflection of them. Cleaners were fantastic, reception staff were friendly and the breakfasts were delicious.
Secondly, the location of this building is in a great area and super easy to get to different touristic locations around the city.
If you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable stay, maybe this won’t be the plac for you.
Whilst the decor and the building itself is beautiful, you can hear absolutely everything including conversations from other peoples rooms room (door opening and footsteps too), the spa (which is open quite late) and depending on the side of your room, the breakfast room. Certain windows within the room don’t have any windows just wooden panels, so you can literally hear everything (including a couple of late night arguments on other rooms we were privy to). Pack earbuds, because you’re going to need them.
The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, unlike anything we’ve ever stayed on before. The staff managed to put some extra ‘layers’ ontop of our mattress, but it didn’t do much. By end of our stay, one of us has an extremely sore back (re-triggered pre existing slipped disk issues) and the lack of sleep across the 5 nights we were there left us both feeling exhausted by the end of the trip.
If you don’t mind noise, not overtly seeking relaxation and also only staying for a couple of nights, this place is fine.
