We had such a wonderful stay at this cottage! It is comfortable and has everything we needed to relax and enjoy our family time together. The property & area is quiet and a nice place to unwind. Convenient short drive to Mars Hill university. We felt right at home and would definitely love to come back again!

We were very graciousy welcomed by our hosts who also were kind enough to provde us with some goodies as well. This was our second stay at this charming cottage. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and only wished we could have sat on the covered porch while we were there. Would highly recommend and hope to return again soon.

This property was beautiful and charming. We had everything we needed for a great stay. We were in a quiet area, just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Plenty of things to do within driving distance. Just 30 minutes away from the Biltmore, and zipplining was 20 minutes away at Navitat. Property is well maintained and communication was excellent. The property managers went above and beyond.

Very clean, great firepit and they even provided firewood which was unexpected. Host had accidentally given access to our booking to guests staying at their other property, but refunded 10% due to our delay in being able to unpack and get settled. Very apologetic and quickly remedied the problem.

We had a very peaceful 4 day stay, quiet. The cottage is old but has been updated and is very comfortable, it has everything you need. It has settled so the floors are somewhat uneven so we were unable to close the bathroom door completely. The mini split ac kept the place very comfortable. Really enjoyed our coffee on the porch in the morning listening to the birds and seeing a few deer.

Awesome Country Getaway

My husband and I spend a lot of time traveling by motorcycle and have stayed in 50 vacation rentals. This is exactly the kind of place we look for when booking our trips; quiet, clean and comfortable. The house is nicely decorated with everything that we needed to relax at the end of the day. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to the birds and watching the fireflies. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Mars Hill.

Perfect little Mountain Cottage, Pack Tick Repellant

This place was so cozy and perfect!! Absolutely everything you need, clean, quiet, super easy to get to, just exactly what we were looking for. 10/10 on the house. The owner was super communicative and so nice! I feel they would have been very accomodating to anything we made a serious demand about. They even gave us a lovely little handwritten welcome note and goodie basket!! A word of warning about the grounds though: we walked up to the firepit area you can see in some of the listing photos ONCE for about 5 minutes and we were finding ticks crawling all over us for the rest of the evening (thankfully none latched, but we definitely found at least 5 across the two of us). The grass was all mowed down so I guess we just didnt think we needed to spray up just to walk 20feet there and back. The listing states that you are free to explore the grounds, but I would definitely not do that unless youre thoroughly protected against ticks.Other than that (which genuinely was such a small part, probably common knowledge to most people, and out of the owner's control) this place is perfect for a tucked away little home base for your travels!
