Our stay was wonderful. We had a great trip down the river. Water is crystal clear and a little cold. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Host are great. Our daughter enjoyed playing with their small children. Highly recommend for families.

Property has potential but disappointed with our stay
This property has a lot of potential , but the listing was inaccurate unfortunately. It said the property had a pool and we were counting on a pool as part of our travel plans. It was extremely hot outside and the river was not flowing. We understood the water would be low but to find a stagnant pool of water that was unswimmable was very disappointing. In addition, there was no working TV in the space. We ended up leaving the property for the majority of our stay, which was not our plan since it is far from town. I informed the property owners of our complaints and they offered 15% off our next stay, but I'm not feeling positively about that response. It has been a month and the listing has not been updated to remove the pool. For this reason, I felt I needed to write a review so someone else wouldn't be set up for disappointment. I'm sure this is a lovely place when there is a flowing river, but I wouldn't trust the accuracy of the listing information. In addition, the fold out couch is not a suitable second bed and the doors were not lockable. We didn't feel any threat of theft or anything, but as two women staying alone, we would've liked to lock our door at night.

The cottage was adorable and had everything you needed and more to rest, relax, and reminisce. The owners were very friendly and ensured we had a nice stay. Check-in and check-out was simple. I would highly recommend this VRBO!!

Great cabin on the river
Used kayaks and had the river to ourselves. Very quiet. Be sure you are comfortable with the ladder. We were but it’s not for everyone. Plenty of outdoor space. River is beautiful.

Perfect spot to unwind!
My son & I needed a weekend getaway for his 11th birthday. We wanted to enjoy fresh air, nature, fishing and napping! The best bed I’ve slept in is up in the loft. Crack the windows for the cool night air…almost tasted sweet. This cottage was everything we needed in a space and was comfortable with our budget. PS the owners are very kind and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for nicer folks to be next to. ☺️

This was a good experience for me and my husband and my grandson was greeted by the owner who is very polite and nice we was really impressed Cottage was clean smelled good look good we did not want to leave 2 days was a long enough the owners set up the wood fire brung us out of boat that was very fun we've never done that before we fished very quiet and I'm pretty sure we will be back I highly recommend this particular Cottage location it's way worth your money very affordable I would like to thank the owners for the wonderful experience that allowed us we couldn't ask for any better place

Comfortable and friendly
Nice property with a peaceful view. My wife and I spent the weekend at this cabin with our best friends (couple), just to get away for a weekend. The four of us found the cabin absolutely adorable. We walked up and down the river to enjoy the nature and beautiful weather. The location provided a fire circle area and grill for us to cook our meals. We took a quick trip to the Magnolia Silos and did a little shopping and eating. The owners were to quick to respond to our needs and frieny notifications. We're hoping to come back when the river is higher to experience the kayaking some day in the future. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

We were looking to relax, and this was the place. We enjoyed the boat that was there for us to use for fishing.The river is within walking distance to the cottage. The owner was great, answering any questions we had.We would recommend this property to anyone looking to unwind, but you are close enough to enjoy the Waco experience. Will recommend to friends.

We enjoyed our time in the peace and quiet. had a nice time using the canoe to see the little river behind the property. Spent hours reading in the quiet stillness watching the river. We used the fire pit and had long conversations about life and family. Overall we had a great time.

It was a wonderful little stay away from home! The cottage was so beautiful and the owners were very helpful and accommodating! The kids had a great time kayaking and playing. Charming little cottage.
Girls weekend in Waco. This was the perfect place to stay and relax close enough to town. The setting is absolutely beautiful along the banks of the river. The cottage was so charming and welcoming. Perfect weekend, riverfront oasis!
My cousin and I booked a weekend away from Austin and we had the best time at the Lazy River Cottage. The cottage itself is of HGTV tiny house dreams, but the gem is having easy access to the river, where we kayaked, explored and just took in the quiet serenity every morning. Kris and Marilee were incredibly sweet and helpful, and even provided restaurant recommendations in nearby McGregor and Waco that did not disappoint. They also have several kayaks and paddle boards on property that they allowed us to use. Overall this was an easy and delightful experience, as we’d highly recommend to couples, girls weekends or solo getaways!

Girls Weekend
The owners were very sweet and accommodating to any needs or concerns that we may have had, to which we did not have any. The cottage was perfect for myself, mother and sister! We enjoyed going for paddle the one afternoon it didn't rain and had a blast! Overall, we had a very relaxing weekend and even enjoyed meeting the owners little ones. We are all mothers so we didn't mind. Throughout our stay we did not hear any of the owners little ones. My sister and I each have four kiddos, so we had no idea how the owners pulled that one off. We have already talked about planning another trip!

We loved our stay here. It is a tiny cottage with plenty of room in the loft and living/kitchen quarters. We loved bbqing at night and my husband and daughter really enjoyed fishing. The ability to take a canoe ride was an added bonus. Very well kept and super friendly hosts.

What a wonderful place! The cabin was super cute; and right next door to the main house. The owners had two kids and a dog; and my kids had fun playing with them. They are super hosts! The river was great fun as well. The kids will have memories of making mountain pies by the river forever! What a great place to decompress and enjoy nothing but nature. Loved the hosts; loved the quiet peace; will definitely recommend and be back!

Could it have gotten any better?!? I think NOT!
I have to say, I never use the word "Darling" ever. This little tin roofed gem was just that! Darling. My little family 👪 had a great time, air conditioning, TV, wifi..we played cards at the table while grilling burgers for dinner. The lazy river out back was just perfect to paddle with my six year old and pretend we were in a jurassic adventure, stopping in the shallows to collect rocks, this is just what my family needed, a break away for 2 days, the hosts were very accommodating, we felt very safe and wanted for nothing. Kudos to whoever bought that amazing bed in the loft! I wished I could take it along with the plush white bedding linens home, just truly a little romantic stay, and at night with the lights on, we saw a family of salamanders peeping into the windows green with envy, just overall a really great stay, every picture posted is just the reality..Thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your little slice of heaven, we hope to visit again!

What a blessing.
We wanted to get away from city life to unplug and have some adventure. We were not disappointed. The hosts has such an amazing set up for guests. The guest house is awesome. It has the basic essentials. At night, the stars are amazing, me and my wife stayed out there and watched and took pictures and talked late into the night. The main attraction is the river, of course. Brought our chairs down there in the morning and drank some hot coffee while I caught a few fish. During this heat wave it was awesome to climb into a canoe and go paddling down the CLEAR river and fall in a few times lol. It's the perfect couples getaway! We will be back!

Another great time at the river!
I brought my husband this time, and he loved it just as much as I did. Having private river access along with everything you need to enjoy the river (kayak, paddleboard, etc) without having to pack it, makes this spot a dream vacation. We brought a float big enough for the two of us and anchored in the middle of the river for when we wanted to be lazy, and we didn't see another person all day. It was the relaxing getaway we both needed!

This cozy little cottage sits beside a picturesque lazy river, with kayaks available for guest use. The cottage itself is cozy with a very comfortable bed upstairs in the loft and an equally comfortable couch on the main floor. Snacks, coffees, and travel sized toiletries were a special touch for our short stay. Our hosts were accommodating and helpful. We would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage for comfortable getaway.

Great time with amazing views, and river access!
Marilee was helpful and super responsive from the start. The cabin is exactly as shown in the photos, but you cannot imagine how peaceful and wonderful of a spot it is until you arrive. The river is a very short walk from the cabin, and they have picnic tables & a hammock inviting you down to the amazing views. I would highly recommend this place as a respite from the chaos of life!

Wonderful little cottage
We had a very enjoyable stay at this cottage! Everything lived up to our expectations and Kris and Marilee were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The property is beautiful and is a great launching pad for anything you would like to do in the area. I recommend staying here if you're in the area!
