'Clearly a recent building or very well renovated given the paint smell when entering the room (wich was noticeable but gone very quickly when turning on the airconditioning). Very light and modern setting with friendly and helpful staff. Not directly to the beach so you’re located at a more quiet place. Yet the beach is less then a 5 minute walk where there’s a plethora of dining options to choose from along the coastline. Divided with cute little beach shops in between. Would stay again and...

'This time we stayed in the Cottage. It was a separate unit behind the main house. Easy to enter using the code I was emailed. The cottage was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a claw foot tub and a wraparound shower curtain. The room A/C was excellent. It was very comfortable all day and night. The ceiling fan was whisper quiet. The cottage included a kitchen area with a half-size refrigerator/freezer, counter top, cabinets, tableware, microwave, and a table....

'Wat een hartelijk welkom van Michael en zijn vrouw. Tot in de puntjes verzorgde kamer, heel netjes en schoon. Een prachtig huis om in te verblijven! Wij zaten in het bijgebouw en onze vrienden in het grote huis. Zo sfeervol! De enige tip die we hebben als verbeterpunt is de waterdruk voor douche en wasbak. Voor de rest is alles voortreffelijk. Genoten van het ontbijt, er wordt alles vers voor je bereid. Dikke aanrader!'

'Our family was taking a cruise out of Galveston and this property is literally two blocks away from the cruise terminal so it was great to spend the previous night in old town Galveston very nice and then the next morning we just walked to our terminal for the cruise line, everyone was very helpful. Very nice. The rooms were great. The breakfast was incredible. Highly recommend recommended.'

'My husband and I loved our stay at the Carr Mansion! This historical home was charming, clean, and comfortable. Joellyn was a fabulous host; she served delicious breakfast and offered several tips/ recommendations for activities around the island. The location of the home is near to several other historical landmarks/ museums, the Strand, and the Seawall. 'For the cost per day of the hotel room did not meet our expectations. Rooms are out dated and have not changed since the 1st time we booked them 15 years ago. We are a Landrys club member.'

'Friendly staff, in my stay for a week no making the bed or clean sheets, i had to ask for new towels. Only 4 chairs at the pool and every day i had to ask to open the pool. The hotel is a bit noisy but i felt save and welcome due to the staff.'

'Everything was great'

'The room was nasty. They take a deposit and specify “to make sure no animals, etc” I walk into a pee spot on the floor. Literally. I call Down to the RUDE woman at the front who tells me “it is a spilled drink from years ago they cannot get up”. It is definitely pee, I have pictures. Bathroom and balcony are disgusting, room stunk and fridge didn’t work. All vending machines were broken, 2nd shift person was SO RUDE AND UNHELPFUL IT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE.'

'Een standaard kamer; niet zo groot en zeker de badkamer is klein en onhandig. Er ligt een matrasbeschermer op bed waardoor je erg gaat broeien. Wij hadden een kamer met zeezicht, maar je kijkt voornamelijk op het dak van het hotel. Niet de moeite waard. Ik vond het niet het fijnste hotel, en in de buurt is er weinig te doen. Wat wel fijn was is het zwembad; gezellig en fijn om er te relaxen.'

'The home was nice. Just a short walk to the pier, the trollies and the beach. Not much of a need to drive many places. We loved that part. It is very close to some bars. We had a bunch of kids and was concerned about that but no one bothered us and it wasn't noisy. The neighbors were friendly who lived around there. Very minor complaints and they were just inconveniences.'
