The area is nice as well, Capital Park is beautiful. The only thing we did not like was the mattress, it was not very firm and my husband moves around a lot in his sleep so I didn’t sleep very well. 'This property exceeded all of my expectations except for one. The good the staff was excellent they were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. 'I could have lived with the room's prison style window, the frayed carpeting, the ZERO bathroom counter space, and the passed out junkies across the street in the park. I could've lived with the comical "gym" that is literally the size of a walk-in closet big enough to hold a grand total of two treadmills and a few weights. 'Goed betaalbaar motel net buiten midtown. Wel een eindje lopen naar downtown en historic district. Gratis parkeren en gratis ontbijt. Kamers roken helaas naar rook, ook al is er een niet roken beleid. Niet superschoon. Wel een geel fijne douche. Vlakbij snelweg, dus veel geluiden van verkeer en getoeter. Neem oordopjes mee. 'This was a first stay at this Fairfield in about five years. It remains a pretty good low-cost place to stay for a night or two. The breakfast isn't quite as good as we remembered it, and the $10 per day they now charge for parking was off putting. 'I come to Sacramento quite a bit for work and while there are plenty of hotels in the depths of downtown and along the Sacramento waterfront there are not a whole lot of options near the Capital and other state agency building. The Sterling is AWESOME for an affordable boutique stay in a very walkable and lovely part of town where accommodations are limited. I plan on making this my regular spot to stay when I'm in Sacramento.'

'This hotel lives up to the Marriott name. The staff has very helpful and kind. I enjoyed having a kitchenette in my room so I could cook my own food. I took one star off for cleanliness because I found a hair in the shower that wasn’t mind. Otherwise, everything seems to be very cleaned and well maintained.'

'I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel room was unacceptable. We ended not staying the night and checked in somewhere else at our own expense. The experience started poorly when the man at the front desk was rude and dismissive. Unfortunately, things only got worse when I got to the room. The room was visibly dirty and in a state of disrepair. The furniture was heavily damaged, with chipped and broken laminate exposing the particleboard underneath. The carpet had multiple stains....
