Prive, moderne hut gelegen op 4 hectare majestueuze Blue Ridge berghelling binnen een opvallende afstand van vele lokale bezienswaardigheden, zoals Mabry Mill, Chateau Morrisette, Rock Castle Gorge, Buffalo Mtn, Meadows of Dan, Primland en meer. Een ruime open plattegrond creëert een intieme sfeer voor koken, dineren, lezen, bordspellen of loungen. Alle moderne apparatuur, waaronder airconditioning, vaatwasser, magnetron, elektrische kookplaat, broodrooster, wasmachine en droger, satelliet-radio, flatscreen-tv met lange afstand HD-antenne, dvd / blu-ray-speler, surround sound en plintverwarming. Een rondom gelegen terras met bebost uitzicht op de bergen biedt buiten zitplaatsen en eetgelegenheid met tafel, stoelen en houtskoolgrill. Er zijn twee slaapkamers en een loft met 2 kingsize bedden en 1 queensize bed. 1 complete badkamer met douche en een grote badkuip met klauwpoten. Cabin is gunstig gelegen 1 mijl van Blue Ridge Parkway op mijl marker 174 en ligt op slechts 4 mijl van Chateau Morissette en op slechts 10 minuten rijden naar Meadows of Dan (voor het dichtstbijzijnde gas en supermarkt) en slechts 20 minuten naar de stad Floyd.

Love this place

We have stayed here twice. Like it so much we have already rented it for next year. It has always been clean. The beds are comfortable. The host is great. It's stocked with necessities you might firget ti pack. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place!

This is an older well lived in cottage surrounded by mountain vegetation. It was very welcoming and fully stocked. It has an eclectic vibe. Very convenient access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you're Ritz Carlton this is not the property for you. I'm a Birkenstocks kind of girl, so worked out great for me!

Mold allergies be ware.

I loved the home so much we had decided to stay here again. This time upon arrival the home reeked of mold so bad we had to open all windows and doors with fans to try to clear the smell. It was late when we arrived and I didn’t have any cell service to contact the owner. Upon going into the bathroom the shower Matt was dirty and stained. I picked it up and there was dirt and hair underneath. A Used bar of soap to use.The next day I contacted the owner via Vrbo and got no response. I called the telephone number and reached him. He said there was nothing he could do. I would have to clean it myself but assured me all of the cleaning supplies were there. Because of the mold my allergies were awful so we stayed gone long as possible. I went to go clean the shower. There were no gloves, no sponges or cleaning rags. The only thing available was the wash cloths. We scrapped that idea and all took turns taking a bird bath in the kitchen sink. The rest of the house was clean except the kitchen wash cloth left to use was dirty. Unfortunately, as lovely as this cabin was with a mold allergy I could never stay here again. We had the windows open and fans on the entire time and the mold could still be smelled when entering the home.

A quiet little getaway!

John is an excellent host. Communication A+! The home had everything we needed. The king bed downstairs is extremely comfortable! Perfect for visiting that section of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Floyd, VA!

Relaxing Stay

We truly enjoyed our week away in this cabin. Our family of five had plenty of room to rest, relax and hang out. At night we used the large dining room table to play dominoes and card games. The house had everything we needed. Our only wish was an updated bathroom but it won’t stop us from renting here again. Thanks for a fantastic week!

Great place! Quiet mountain getaway.

This is a great place to spend some time in the wilderness. The property would be worth 5 stars if it wasn't for a few shortcomings: * Bathroom definitely needs to be improved. The bathtub is not usable. The shower is rather uncomfortable. On the positive side, there was plenty of hot water, more than enough for our party of 5. * Trash collection is non-existent in the area, and finding a container in the are is very difficult. This needs to be addressed by the owner. * Dishwasher, fireplace and wood-burning stove were not operational. We understand that the fireplace and stove were not listed as features in the property description on VRBO, but they were in the photos, so we had certain expectations of the place which were left unmet. Location of washer and drier is a bit odd (in one of the bedrooms), but we guess that was the only possibility. They functioned flawlessly though, just are a bit noisy if you want to do do a load in the evening. Other than that, the property is in a fantastic place, easily accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway; secluded and very quiet. There are stores and other facilities in the nearby village. Internet was slow (DSL line) but very reliable - it stayed ON all the time. It was enough even for ZOOM video calls! Owner was very responsive. We would gladly stay again at the property if we have another chance. We highly recommend it to other VRBO users.

Nice place

nice cabin. Good neighborhood. Nice view. Bathroom/ shower would benefit from update. Less than 5 minutes from blue ridge Parkway, this was our half way spot. Excellent hiking nearby, check out rock castle gorge, near the rocky knob area. We went to blind pig/ lush lounge in Floyd. Very cool!! Otherwise, be aware. Most restaurants are not open during the week. If we're ever in the meadows of Dan area again, I would stay here again. Thanks!

Extremely below expectations!!! Worst rental we have ever had on the Blueridge Parkway, in 10 years of traveling and staying along the Parkway. Outside was over grown and neglected. Inside outdated, stinking, dusty and cobwebs, delapidated and very dark. Advertised with king bed...mattress looked like a U, sagging terribly in the middle, DID NOT SLEEP IN IT! Also had a washer/dryer crammed in bedroom next to the very badly sagging king mattress bed. Bathroom was terrible!!! No AC, except one window unit in dining room, covered in cobwebs and spiders, WHICH WE DID NOT USE EITHER! This place should either have a match thrown in it and burn it down, OR take a bulldozer to it!! I cannot believe someone would rent it to travelers on the Blueridge. I wouldn't put a dog in it.

Not what we had expected

We encountered a number of problems. First we really should have had a four wheel drive vehicle to get into the cabin and turning around was very difficult. Second the king size bed was so broken down in the middle it made it impossible for 2 people. Third the shower was really bad. the water was just a very small stream with most of the water just going out of the faucet and down the drain. Nothing we could do would change it. Another thing that I feel was strange was they had a lot of food left in the fridge. This has really turned us against using VBRO again.

Great little cabin with well stocked kitchen! Very secluded. Pretty good cell service. The only downside was that the beds were not comfortable at all! Otherwise a good stay!
