Location is everything!!

Family get together
Cabin was beautiful, the decor was unique and fitting for the cabin and location. The view was amazing as well as the sunset. The cabin had everything we needed was the best stocked rental we’ve stayed at. Only negative was the furniture wasn’t very comfortable. Would book again and recommend to others.

Great weekend trip!
We loved staying at the cabin! Our only wish was that we could stay longer. We were in town for a wedding and loved staying here. It was clean, had all of the "extras" that we needed (towels, kitchen things, etc.) and had beautiful views. There was even a walking nature trail that was beautiful on a fall morning. Thanks for having us!

Enjoy the views and room layout.
Jill’s home has a great view and we saw some beautiful sunsets. It was laid out very well for our needs. Could use some TLC - grill, bathroom lights and fireplace didn’t work, Nature trail needed updated signage, etc. enjoyed our stay very much.

The Golden Dunes cabin has remedied any issues which are mentioned in the review by handyman/ property manager Travis who is extremely responsive and skilled. When I, as owner, do not know an issue, such as the fireplace not working, it would be better to call Travis, his number is available to all guests, and he will take care of it. The fireplace is gas with a remote control. Sometimes guests use the wrong control and therefore it doesn't work. The same happens with the remotes for the TVs. The grill works but if the propane tank runs out, please let Travis or myself, the owner know so that it can be replaced. A second tank (spare) is located inside the cabin and can be utilized immediately. I value hearing reviews, for if something can be remedied, it will be done ASAP. A new dishwasher was just installed in August as the last one had been misused. This one is MUCH easier. A new deck has been installed this summer as well with resilient surface and I hope it can be enjoyed for many years to come.

The home was beautiful! Also pretty well stocked. The property itself is different from what is pictured. Trees in front getting tall and starting to obstruct the view. Landscaping not like pictured. Getting very weedy and scrubby. Fire pit area not as nice as shown. Great location close to all we wanted to visit.

Would stay here again!!!
Location was great. Property and house were charming. I did not realize the master in the loft had no wall/door, but that wasn’t a problem for us. We loved the sunset views and could see people riding on the dunes with binoculars! I would recommend this property to any family looking to stay near silver lake for a vacation. It was wonderful being able to bring our dog too.

This is a really beautiful home given much love and care. we especially liked the natural look to the construction and peaceful and quiet location. The area has something to offer for everyone. For us, we enjoyed the hiking on the property and visiting the Little Sable Lighthouse along with the pristine beach of Lake Michigan.

We loved our stay! As sisters, we were tasked with cleaning out an old family farm in Hart. Your cabin was the relaxing and refreshing point in our days. Everything we needed was available. The space was perfect for the family members that stayed and comfortable for extended family to stop by for dinners, sunsets, and fires. Thank you for sharing your very special home!

We had a great time staying at the cabin! Everything you might need is there. Very close location to the dunes but enough seclusion for a nice relaxing evening! Owners directions were great. Google maps does not get you to the driveway. Would definitely stay again!

Private Hidden Gem
A beautiful log home in the woods, very private and quiet. So peaceful to sit on the deck. You can see the dunes and the lake in the distance. We had a great vacation staying at this home. Well supplied, but we could have used some Kleenex tissue or the like. The mattresses were very comfortable. The great room tv was a little difficult as the internet was unreliable, but we did not go there to watch tv. Overall, would highly recommend this home.

Relaxing cabin in the woods
Had a wonderful time at this beautiful property! Gorgeous views from the deck, clearly marked nature trails through the woods, and well stocked with cookware to make family meals! The property is secluded and private while still conveniently located near the silver lake dunes and Lake Michigan. Kids appreciated the wifi during the one rainy day we had. This place is perfect for family getaways!

I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and another couple. The cabin is beautiful, spacious, and clean. It has everything we need for cooking and relaxing over a long weekend. Plenty of other necessities like internet, bath towels, soap, blankets. There is a deck outside where we can see the sand dune and Lake Michigan from far away. There is also a large wooded area surrounding the cabin with a nature trail. Jill the property owner is easy to communicate with.

House was beautiful, there was a few light bulbs out on the first day, smoke detector in basement was chirping and Propane tank was empty. Luckily the handy man stopped by and corrected everything. The coffee maker is supper slow and the slider doors could use some some help as they are hard to open and close.

Private setting yet close to attractions
The Golden Dunes home was clean and welcoming when we arrived. The home is about 10-15 minutes away from the dunes and Lake Michigan by car. The setting of the home on 26 natural acres is picturesque. The marked nature trails on the property vary in walking difficulty. The owners put in a lot of effort making and marking the trails and adding the offbeat artwork. Our group had a lot of fun walking the trails and searching for the art objects. Our dogs really enjoyed their vacation in the woods. We were thankful we could bring them with us. The open loft master bedroom with large bathroom and dressing room is lovely with beautiful views of the dunes and lake, however, there is not much privacy from the rest of the house. It was fine for our group but might not work for everyone. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and evening; the views are gorgeous. There is no internet at the house and the cell phone service was spotty. We had three different cell phone providers among us and the signal was unstable for all of us. This could be an issue for some guests. The owner was very responsive to all of our inquiries. There is a maintenance person on call for any problems at the house. It was a great place to spend time together as a family.

Barbara's description was accurate and fine. As owner I would like to add one item regarding the privacy in the loft/master bedroom. There is an Indigenous suede curtain that can be closed around the queen bed so that there is more privacy. And the dressing room has a door that can be shut, although it is not usually an issue.

Cozy cabin near all the fun
We had such an amazing time staying here! The cabin is spacious and the property is beautiful. The deck is wonderful morning or evening and the nature trails are even better than I could have imagined. The home is very clean and has every accommodation. Within five minutes you are at the dunes, Silver Lake, or in town. We would absolutely stay here again — especially since we got to bring to our dogs along!

While this house checked all the VRBO criteria, I would like to note that some cleaning was missed. The upstairs bathroom glass shower had hand marks left on it. Eek. Something else that was an annoyance was that the fans in the storage didn’t work and the air is locked to stay at 70. The beautiful wall of windows let’s in quite a bit of heat so it was quite hot inside. The remainder of our stay was great. The house is beautiful. You can tell that it was owned by very intentional and thoughtful people and now as things are being replaced in the home they are replacing it with things that aren’t up-to-par with the rest of the house. Amazing stay. Would stay again.

I am happy that the stay was “amazing” but wonder why it was too warm since the guests noted that the A/C is set to cool to 70 degrees and is brand new this spring. There are solar “shades” that can be lowered on the large windows easily which also cuts down 75% of heat gain and they are transparent so do not interfere with the view. As for replacing things that are up to par with the rest of the house, I always upgrade. And also have added a couple of indigenous pieces that anyone will enjoy. The cleaning women note when something comes up missing, which is rare, and normally the guests realize they have something from the house and readily pay for its replacement. I’m exceedingly pleased with most guests’ care taken of the Golden Dunes cabin.

The home itself is very beautiful with a really wonderful view of the sunset over Lake Michigan. You're just a few minutes from all the fun of silver lake and the dunes, but with benefits of the quiet setting away from town. It's very spacious inside with a lot of toom for parking. We really enjoyed our stay! I would recommend this rental to others. Jill is a great host. Her communication is quick and clear. The house is well appointed with everything you need. The property is beautiful with the trees in full fall colors. The walking paths are a great way to start the day after coffee on the deck. Our dogs loved running off leash.....thank you for allowing them to join us! Great dune hiking at Silver Lake State Park too. Big Hart Brewing Company is worth a visit.

Beautiful property, great location!
We rented the property for a short stay prior to and after our daughter's wedding. The location was perfect for us and we liked that it was per friendly since the family members that normally assist with our dogs were in attendance at the wedding. We spent only a short period time in the home at the property, but it met our needs. There were a few broken items upon arrival such as a toilet seat and fireplace, but the owners had left a number for a caretaker and we called to let him know. The gentleman was fast to answer the call and stated he was aware of the fireplace and was simply awaiting the repair part and the toilet seat cover he was not aware of but stated he would be fixing that as well. For us, these were not big issues since we really were not spending much time in the home. The house itself was spacious and served all of the needs for our stay as we mostly needed the home to keep our dogs and give us a place to sleep. Would recommend for someone looking for a place to relax and enjoy hiking the property. Though we didn't have alot of time to spare to enjoy the property, it was beautiful and what little my husband walked in the early mornings he enjoyed greatly. Thank you for a beautiful home for our stay!
