pictures don't show 3 sides of construction around. basically a cabin dropped into a war zone. no closets, no hot water in shower, construction scraps all over, paint cans on back patio, no hot water in shower. no reply from owner after 12 hours

While a tad dramatic, demonstrably false to say nothing of the invocation of "war zone". We did talk to the guests acknowledge, apologize and credit for the paint cans on the back patio and the temporary construction. Hoping he finds more suitable accommodation in the future.

Beautiful place to visit!
Medicine Park is an absolute GEM! I think everyone should visit this area at least once! My only suggestion for the property owner is some updated pictures for the cabin rental listing. I’ll admit, I looked at pictures thoroughly but only skimmed through the listings actual amenities. There isn’t a washer/dryer like shown in the pictures. The water pressure in the bathroom was less than thrilling and the beds are very flat/uncomfortable but we managed for our two night stay. Thanks for offering an affordable place close enough to enjoy the beautiful little town! We’d definitely stay again.

Great location!
We came down to see the Easter play and this place was in a great location! Just up the hill from Medicine Park and a quick drive to all of the surrounding points of interest. The place is simple and small, but full kitchen, comfortable beds and all the essentials (including a Kureg with coffee). I believe the living room couch may double as a futon; great for an extra small person to sleep, but does not make for the most comfortable couch. Easy, no fuss!

The mountain views were beautiful. We watched the New Years fireworks from the porch and loved the view looking down into Medicine Park. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals, including pans and utensils. The fridge was nice sized and there were plenty of coffee pods for the Keurig. The house could use a bit of updating. The bathroom was very small, but sufficient. The heating unit was located in the kitchen and was a bit noisy. Beds were comfy. We will be back again.

We enjoyed being up away from the main road through town. There were just some inconsistencies with what was advertised and what we ended up with. The biggest issue we had was the water in the shower - we found out that the hot and cold are switched.

Thank you for your stay. We would label the hot and cold so it’s clearer. As for the cryptic feedback, it would be helpful if you are specific so we can address. The cabin has been on this site for 7 years and we try to address any issues.

The cabin was not what we expected or even looked like the pictures on line. There was no hot water, had to take a cold shower. The tv's would not work, the beds were very uncomfortable. We actually left Saturday afternoon. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Great location
This was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 adult children. We arrived Sunday evening, walked around medicine park, and found a great place to eat. Our time at the red cabin was spent hanging out in the living room (not pictured). The next morning we enjoyed breakfast in the deck before heading out to hike at Wichita mountains. Great location and perfect for our needs!

Nice Stay
This property was great for our short stay. I think we spent most of our time on the patio and even enjoyed breakfast there to enjoy the scenery. The location worked really well for our trips to the wildlife refuge and then to downtown Medicine Park for meals.

Two overnights in Medicine Park
We booked for an annual event in Medicine Park. Property is exactly as pictured. Beds were clean and comfortable. We were slightly away from the two main streets so we probably slept better than most. Drive is gravel but no issues for two motorcycles. Keurig Coffee maker worked. Fridge was cold. No issues.

Property was hard to find. Kitchen was needing to be cleaned there was dust and cob webs in corners. They need to update the photos for the listing. Cause photos show a washer and dryer and there was none. There is a ring door bell so we felt like there was watching us..we say this cause we was sitting on porch talking about how they should have mowed the yard before we got there. The next afternoon domeone was out to mow the yard with us being there. Then we had some person knock on the door asking if she could look at the house cause she seen it on a for sale site. I would not bring 5 people to this property cause it is a small home..it was my neice sister and myself and we kept getting in each others way to get around. But the veiw around the property is great. Just dont look close to the property.

Overall, we had a great stay. Love the location. Enjoyed the fire pit. Had some trouble getting the TVs to work, but the owner messaged me quickly and we got it resolved. Some minor issues here and there but nothing that caused us to have major problems. It was crowded with 5 but we made it work. I felt that this cabin might have been a bit overpriced. Not sure if it was due to fees from VRBO or what, but not a complaint by any means. We enjoyed our time and had a wonderful time celebrating the New Year.

This property was very dirty! I don't think it was cleaned from the previous stay. There is little to no outside lighting, making it easy to trip on the steps. Also a few things were not in working condition. The pictures and directions are not accurate.

Basic Training Graduation
We were in town for our daughter's Basic graduation from Ft. Sill. Reviews of the local hotels were sketchy and I saw on the support page someone mentioned Medicine Park. I immediately found this cute little treasure, and fell in love with the views and description of the place. There's no direct neighbors to worry about conflicts over parking, noise etc. It has the perfect panoramic views of mountains, the dam and over looks the unique little town of Medicine Park. The house is small but cozy, and we really only needed a place to sleep and shower, because we stayed busy with the adventures surrounding the place. The wildlife refuge is a MUST do! we explored every bit of it and possibly the best part of our weekend with the exception of seeing our girl graduate basic training. Medicine Park is also a Must see! The directions will make it sound like it's hard to find, but it's not. We came in at almost 1 am and went right to it. Follow the directions in the email and you will find it. The driveway could be marked a little better by the property owner for people like us coming in late from a long drive as it is so so so dark and it looked like we were turning into a hay field. So if you come to it and say This can't be it, keep pulling in, because it is it. We loved it and hope it's vacant the next time we need to stay.

Fort Sill army basics training graduation
The property was great. We where there to watch our oldest son graduate from basic training at Fort Sill. It was just about a 8.5 mile drive to the base. It was less than 1 mile from the little shops down in Medicine Park. The views of the mountains are beautiful at sunrise and sunset. The management team was very helpful. We needed extra towels cuz there was 4 of us I messaged them and with in maybe an hour if that they messaged me back and we had towels the very next morning cuz it was kinda late when we checked in. Overall if I ever needed to come back to the area I would stay either in this cabin or another one if their properties.

The location was close to town and not surrounded by others. The views were amazing from the front porch. The instructions getting to the house could be updated as the winery is no longer there. The driveway could use some work as it was a little washed out and the bottom of our car hit the gravel a few times. The house itself is very cute but could use some repairs to the floors, as you could feel sink spots. Overall it was a good stay.

Took my pregnant wife and two boys ages 1 & 3. We do not need a lot of space so it was perfect for us. The house is close to the downtown area which was nice, but it was still far enough away that we did not have to worry about anything waking up the kiddos.

The pictures listed are not quite accurate. The shower did not have hot water, but the bathroom sink had scalding hot water. We had to use pots to transfer water from the sink to the bathtub. The view was what made the trip worthwhile.

The cabin was very clean, it was very small. The picture showed a stackable washer/dryer that was not there. For us it was not comfortable due to beds being pushed right up next to wall and no side table or place to hang clothes. The tv in the room with blue curtains didn't work. And the cable was awful which you warned us about due to location. Overall it was what it was but too small for us. The boys had a great time and the view was spectacular. Enjoyed Medicine Park and all it had to offer, and the cabin was a place to rest.

Enjoyable stay overall
The overall stay was enjoyable. The directions from the website were inaccurate and outdated. We did receive an email with better directions the same day as our arrival as we were driving there. This was not found out until after we arrived. The map of the location also was misleading. Our daughter was in another cabin that looked like well within walking distance. It was not. The cabin was very clean and our stay was enjoyable after getting over the direction part.

The cutest cabin with BREATHTAKING views!
We had five people, three adults and two teenagers. The bedrooms were perfect, but the foldout couch wasn’t all that comfy so definitely bring an air mattress. Other than that, every other detail was PERFECT! Location: The view from the porch is incredible! Beautiful sunrises! If you follow the host directions you cannot get lost. It’s simple to find. Follow their directions and not GPS. We walked into town, and it’s a little over a mile. Cabin: Just so cute! Lots of nice details like a toilet bidet, fountain sink, adorable decor. Check in process: Simple! Host sent the code right on time, answered any questions prior to our stay. Very communicative. Thanks for the hospitality, we will definitely stay again soon!

The bed was wonderful, though rooms small. Kitchen and bath updated. There was no comfortable place to sit in living room, Couldn't connect TV and they must have used a dyslectic plumber because all the faucets were installed backwards. The directions to the property got us nowhere. There was no winery to turn at. After one hour of driving around, we finally found it by recognizing the building and found a way in. This may have colored our opinion of the place, but here it is.

This is a great location if you plan to spend your time at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge as we did. We loved the convenient location. The sunrise view was terrific. We would very much like to stay again. The following comments are personal preference and are only mentioned for convenience of others. We are big coffee drinkers as we like to take a thermos of coffee with us as we set out for the day. There is a nice Keurig individual cup maker available which we did not feel comfortable using for our needs. We found a nearby Dollar General to purchase a coffee maker. The Keurig must have replaced the regular coffee pot shown in the photos. The only other minor inconvenience was the lack of any place to hang clothes. The only closet was locked and there are no over the door hangers or hooks or pegs in the rooms. As there were only two of us, we managed fine. There are steep steps to reach the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit.

retracing my childhood steps
The wildlife refuge and the Lawton/Altus area are near and dear to my heart, as a child it was a place I BEGGED my parents and grandparents to take me to or take the "refuge" road to when we were going to Altus. Medicine Park was as beautiful as I remember, of course the waterslide is gone, but it was like reliving some of my most cherished childhood memories!! Your cabin was awesome, the view could not have been better!!!
