Voor de bootexcursie goede ligging, de netheid was minder, hadden op de dag van aankomst pas handdoeken om 8 u s avonds , waren er nochtans al de ganse dag, en pas na drie telefoontjes naar de receptie . Deze waren absoluut zeer onvriendelijk

Riviera Resort & Spa in Mellieha
Het hotel is gesitueerd op een rustig deel van het eiland (noorden) en geschikt voor zowel gezinnen als senioren. De kamers, het zwembad, de receptie, de lounge, etc. zien er prima verzorgd uit. De badkamers zijn schoon, maar wel wat gedateerd en deels aan een facelift toe. De medewerkers van het hotel zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De voertaal is Engels. Het hotel ligt langs de kust, maar heeft geen eigen strand, maar wel een eigen (schoon) zwembad. Het advies is om de kluis in de garderobekast in de kamer te huren en geen persoonlijke eigendommen op de hotelkamer achter te laten. Vanuit Mellieha zijn alle bezienswaardigheden (hoogtepunten) op het eiland in redelijk korte tijd te bereiken. Ingeval van gebruik van een huurauto, wordt aangeraden om goed naar de bewegwijzering te kijken. Deze zijn schaars en staan vaak pal op de afslag en worden in het algemeen (te) laat gezien. Het verkeer rijdt links. De Maltezers rijden in het algemeen stevig door, geven nauwelijks richting aan en toeteren bij het minste of geringste. Het is een belevenis om met de auto het eiland te verkennen. Het is zeker aan te bevelen om de eilanden Gozo & Comino te verkennen. Het openbaar vervoer (bussen) is in het algemeen goed geregeld.

Hotel vlak bij veer naar Gozo
Meteen bij binnenkomst was de teleurstelling dat onze kamer maar twee bedden had in plaats van de gereserveerde drie slaapplaatsen. Een derde kleiner bed is er bij gezet maar was toch minder comfortable voor onze zoon van 1.80m. Daarmee was de kamer vol en liet bijna geen bewegingsruimte meer over. De taat van onderhoud was zozo. De badkamerdeur ging vaak niet open en de douchekranen leken los in de muur te hangen. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het half pension bleek wel een goed idee i.v.m. weinig eetgelegenheden in de buurt, maar wel enigzins eentonig omdat er weinig variatie van dag tot dag was. In Malta is niets ver weg, maar in een te kleine auto links rijden op smalle slechte wegen tussen automobilisten die als bezetenen rijden is geen pretje. In dat opzicht is de locatie, ver buiten het naaste dorp niet ideaal.

Riviera resort & Spa
Toen we aankwamen op malta was het bloedheet. We zijn per taxi naar het hotel gegaan. Dit duurde best lang. We hebben een half uur in de taxi gezeten. Riviera resort & spa ligt erg afgelegen. Je kunt met de bus wel overal komen. Dit is een hele ervaring. Bij het hotel zit een (zout water) zwembad buiten en binnen. Het is een mooi, luxe hotel. 5 minuten met de bus vanaf het hotel zit je in het dorpje mellieha. Hier kun je eten halen en naar het strand. Hier is een zandstrand in tegenstelling tot het hotel, waar alleen een rotsstrand is. Vriendelijke mensen en personeel. We hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad maar hebben de drukkere omgeving en een zandstrand dichtbij wel gemist.

Ons verblijf was super. Het hotel was goed en vooral de bistro was geweldig! De prijzen zijn toegankelijk en de vriendelijkheid van de mensen aldaar is iets wat men niet vaak tegenkomt. Kortom een geweldige vakantie!

Prima hotel
Het Riviera Resort en Spa is een prima hotel met buitengewoon vriendelijk personeel. Een auto is erg handig, want het hotel ligt in het uiterste noorden van Malta. Kamer zeer schoon, goede douche, alleen het douchescherm zat nogal los (maar niet heel storend). Mooi zwembad in het midden van het complex. Het hotel is niet te groot, en heeft een eigen strandje met bar voor drankjes en goede lichte maaltijden.

Have to say, we liked our stay at Labranda Riviera Hotel & Spa The room was spacious & service was great. Location was good as well. We did hire a car so getting around was not a problem. Easy access to Gozo via ferry & acces to rest of malta. Breakfast & dinner offered everything you woyld of needed . The only issue we had ! House keeping... They knock once and even though we called to say we were in the room, they still entered !! Catching me & my wife in some awkward situations. Apart from very happy with Labranda Riviera Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel but the main road in was being dug up with diversions via a back road to the ferry causing major disruption. The restaurant was very noisy, especially at breakfast with poor table clearance after peolpe had left, making it difficult to find a table.

Hinta-laatu suhteeltaan loistava hotelli
Henkilökunta oli todella ystävällistä, kaikki siivoojista lähtien tervehti aina käytävillä. Aamupala oli runsas ja suhteellisen monipuolinen, myös allergeenit oli melko hyvin esillä. Kuntosali oli ok, riittävä perustreenaajalle. Osa laittteista aika vanhanaikaisia mutta löytyi käsipainoja useamma eri koossa, juoksumatto, crosstrainer ja monia muita laitteita. Ainoa miinus tulee huoneesta, taisi vain käydä huono tuuri lotossa, sillä huoneeni oli aivan suoraa lastauslaiturin yläpuolella eli ihan järkyttävä kolina ja mekkala aamusta myöhään iltaan saakka. Uskon, että muissa kerroksissa samaa ongelmaa ei ole.

Bel hôtel surtout les chambres. Le personnel est sympathique. La restauration sous forme de buffet et dans les standards des hôtels a touristes , correcte mais pas exceptionnelle. ça plaît à tout le monde et toute les nationalités mais c'est une cuisine sans véritable saveur. Pour l'emplacement si vous voulez faire de la plage une belle plage de sable a environ 3km par la route, a proximité des ferry pour Gozo. Par contre pour visiter La Valette , c'est pas idéal. Les lignes de bus sont à proximité mais il faut compter 1h20 pour La Valette ou Mdina. En bref si je devais revenir à Malte je ne reprendrai pas cet hôtel pour son emplacement totalement excentré

Both breakfast and dinner had a good selection of options and food was not over-salted as is often the case with hotel buffets. No drinks included at dinner but you do get free water. Pool was spacious and warm, sauna was always working and at a good temperature which is appreciated by this Finn ;) Rooms were quiet, travel bed for our 1-year-old was in good shape and wifi worked well.Corridors could use a bit of deep cleaning that's all.

The hotel was great, it is in a quiet area, no noisy clubs or revellers if you like the quiet. There are buses very close by going to all the tourist areas, cosing €2 cash or card for each journey although the ticket is valud for an hour once the journey has started, so can be used on another bus, or the journey back if you've just popped to the local supermarket. I love fresh fish so the fresh tuna steak and white fish every night was an added bonus. There was also chicken and lamb on occasion, usually one or the other. A wide variety of fresh veg, roast potatoes, mash, also pastas. Breakfast menu is plentiful, all ranges of cooked English style, fresh fruit and yoghurts. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of going to Malta for a stay.
