Very spacious but filthy room. It looked like it had a recent remodel, but it need some good scrubbing. Gum under the table, my baby's knees were pitch-black within minutes after crawling on the carpet, mildew in the bathroom. It is a pity, there is very much potential. Breakfast is good, location is about 20 minutes away from either the zoo or downtown.

I waited for close to an hour before someone showed up at the front desk to help me, noone answered the phone number listed to call. There were people using drugs in the hallways and everything was under construction. Our room was a mess and looked like blood stains on the floor. Didn’t feel safe so my kids and I left. We did get a refund. None of this was related how the property was when doing the booking online.

I love the ease of the check in process and the staff are very friendly. My stay has been great while waiting on the remodeling of my home. I would definitely recommend this location.

The room was not ready when we arrive at 5:00. No one freshen the room. Ran out of towels. Had to buy towels. Rude front desk. Lots of reconstruction on hotel drilling every morning. One inch dust on ceiling fan dirty dishes in dishwasher water standing in tub. Trash behind nightstand. Lightbulbs out . Phones were not working in rooms. Terrible experience. I am reporting to fire depart and better business bureau. The manager does not care.

The property had plenty of space in the rooms. However, the property was under major renovation, so I checked out early to occupy another property down the street. The air conditioner wasn't working properly as well so was a bit uncomfortable.

I was very disappointment with my stay at Poplar Inn and Suites. The property is very unattractive from inside and out. Television are serviced by Roku firesticks; There were bugs in my room and could not get towels when requested. I recommend this location should not be available for reservations until property is completed with it's remodeling.

We were checked into a room which had not been cleaned, a full trash can with a discarded meal and drink cup on the table. We cleaned the kitchen area ourselves. The two TVs buffered our entire 5 day stay, so there was no tv watching. There was no air, we had to get fans from the front office. There were two wash towels in the bathroom that had been used, noticeably so. Because of the limited hotels, convention going on, we stayed. I would never recommend this hotel, nor would the other three couples with us. Totally disappointed!

Property being converted to condos. lots of construction debris. hotel rooms have been neglected for awhile. Also, they charge a "deposit" up front, which was actually charged to my cc for no reason.

Good Experience
Overall wonderful stay. They are flipping the hotel to long term rentals so there is construction and remodeling. The location is 17 miles from Beale street. Located 17 miles from Beale street.

I love the easy check in/out process. The cost is pretty reasonable and the staff seemed very welcoming. I hate that there is no security gate around the property and no security cameras on outside of the building. Overall it actually is a very accommodating place to stay at a great rate.

The overall experience was okay. The biggest drawback is the construction taking place to renovate the property. There is debris and construction material all over the place. If you plan to sleep-in during the week, it may be hard with the construction noise. However, the room itself was clean and comfortable for the price. There are some issues, hence the renovation, but I didn't experience anything terribly unpleasant. The front desk crew is sporadic, but when you find them, they are helpful. There isn't any breakfast or laundry that I could find, but the kitchenette was a welcomed amenity. While the property isn't anything to marvel over, the surrounding area has lots to offer. So, if you find yourself compelled to try Poplar out, I think you get what you pay for.
