My recent week-long stay at Cuadra 134 was needlessly uncomfortable for things I thought were a given at a 4.5 star hotel, so I wish someone would have let me know before booking or even flagged it while I was checking in.
They charged me out of my deposit because of some makeup on a towel! I've stayed in tons of hotels, some worse than this and I've never had this happen.
What made it even worse was how they handled towels in general. When they first flagged the makeup (without mention of a charge), I asked for two dark towels so we wouldn't have this problem again, since all we had were white ones (except for one tiny dark hand towel which hadn't been changed in 3 days). After receiving them, housekeeping took the dark ones away the next day and didn't replace them.
It was impossible to avoid getting makeup on the white towels as there was no alternative other than paper towel. I've had better service in a hostel. Plus, even trying to get extra towels from the front desk was like pulling teeth, even though we're two women with long hair.
On top of the towel drama, the room wasn't even properly cleaned, the bathroom counter wasn't wiped down until we asked, among other things. And trying to sleep? Forget about it. The street noise was super loud because the windows weren't soundproofed at all. Honestly, between the ridiculous towel charge, the cleaning issues, and the noise, it was a pretty frustrating experience all around and could have been avoided.
