I made a reservation and paid a week in advance for 2 nights. When I arrived at 8:30 pm to check in after work, I was told they could not accommodate me because they were under construction, and that Expedia had been contacted and I should get with them for a refund. It’s crazy neither the Comfort Inn, or Expedia especially, couldn’t take two minutes to give me a courtesy call and let me know I should find something else. But, I expect nothing less these days. Both of them are a joke. Now, I’m getting the runaround from Expedia about getting a refund. I’ve used them off and on now for the past 7 years, and they’ve gone from okay, to terrible. 5 years ago, I would have been able to speak with a real person on the phone in a matter of minutes, and my issue would be resolved by the end of the call. Those days are over. Plus, their rewards program is garbage. You can literally use ANY other travel site, and the rewards are going to be better, and rates probably cheaper. I’ve already spoken with a few of my coworkers and we’ve decided to take our business elsewhere. And we know a lot of others who use Expedia that will jump ship as well, just as as soon as they hear about this. As far as Comfort Inn and Expedia go, they are garbage. Like 0.18% out of 100%
