Overall we had a decent stay but encountered some problems. Our primary complaint is that the dock provided is very short compared to surrounding docks and is in shallow water, so we could not even get our boat over to the dock without it getting stuck in the sand. This made it so we could not dock our boat for the weekend which was very inconvenient and misleading based on the description of the dock provided by the host. Neighbors saw us struggling and were very rude to us, and also mentioned that this is not the first time this issue has come up with Copper Lodge guests in the past, yet it is still not disclosed in the listing. This was quite frustrating and would have been good to know before booking this property. Another complaint was the ceiling height in the loft. We knew it would be low, but it is lower than how it looks in the pictures so we only went up there to sleep because we couldn't walk without hitting our heads. Lastly, we appreciated the complementary firewood but it was wet upon arrival and we therefore could not start a fire. It'd be nice if it was covered in some way. Other than those things, the property was good - temperature was fine, blackstone was nice, dishes were provided, beds were comfortable, we enjoyed the games (cornhole, apples to apples, etc). If docking the boat is not important to you, then this property would still be a good option.

The open space worked well for our family. The kitchen & bathroom right next to the bathroom made it very difficult for sleeping when others are still up. Especially for a little one. The picture of the lake is way off or a different location. The water by the dock is all weeds and not a nice Sandy beach as shown in the pictures. The pictures also don’t show the shed in the middle of a neighborhood.

Copper Coup Stay
We liked the property, it was a wonderful yard and plenty of room to stretch out, kids loved having the TV for late night watching. We were sad that we could not swim at the little beach and had to drive to beaches. Loved the Blackstone Grill and used it everyday, it was great to have to cook corn on the cob and the pasta dish we made one night. The kitchen needs more counter space and I would recommend a cart for the microwave and pizza oven if possible, also some larger bowls and a strainer would have been nice.

Family get a way
We had a great time - wish the weather was warmer to have been able to enjoy beautiful Lake Miltona more but overall a great week for all of us. Property and yard were big enough to accommodate our needs. Host was very quick to respond with all questions.

Amazing experience!!
We had such a wonderful stay at Copper Lodge! Very spacious and plenty of beds for our whole family. The lake is only a short walk away, the bean bag boards were an awesome amenity to have, we even played it indoors when it was raining. The host had extremely quick response time when I had questions, and very friendly. I feel as though Copper Lodge was very well stocked with basic things you would need while you're there. Our experience was just great overall and we would love to stay there again!

Our stay was great. VRBO app and online was down so we were unable to communicate with owner. Through some Google searching we located the place as we could not get the address without VRBO app and website working. This had nothing to do with place/owner though just a hiccup with VRBO. Used the Blackstone griddle for most meals. Went to many lakes and caught fish. Neighbors that we chatted were very welcoming. Super neat place to stay. There were two things that the owner was going to address right away but they did not interfere with our stay at all and didn’t affect me wanting to return. Great for our dog and she LOVED the lake Brought our boat and used the dock but didn’t have luck on Miltona. Many smaller lakes within a 15 mile radius that we did have luck on. It was also windy while we were there and the smaller lakes offered better wind protection than Miltona. Would definitely go back with the kids next time.

Easter Weekend Get-a-way

Bachelorette Party
We had a great stay at Copper Lodge! The space at the lodge was perfect for hosting many girls during the day and had plenty of sleeping space for those that wanted to stay. The lodge provided extra tables and chairs that worked perfect for food set up. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire and loved how the lodge was close to carlos creek and leef valley! perfect place for a girls weekend!

Great place for a fishing team
Six bass club fishermen stayed for a week for the state tournament at Le Homme Dieu. This was a perfect place for our group of guys and not far from the lake we were fishing. Lots of room and good parking for three boats. Will definitely stay again here next time!

Girls weekend
The rental property was ok, however we couldn't sleep in the loft, the ceiling was was way to low!! Also window coverings would have great!! The garage light came on in the middle of the night, which was disturbing, due to the fact the we had to sleep in the main part.bedroom placement didn't work for us. Overall, we did have a good time!!

Family Vacation
We rented Copper Lodge for a week so our families could get together for a vacation. It was a really, really enjoyable stay! The shouse was very clean upon arrival, and stocked up with everything we needed. Throughout our stay, Derek was very friendly by checking in to see if we needed anything, if we were having fun, and gave us some great recommendations. The washer and dryer was a big plus and the black stone was amazing! (Pizza made on a black stone is really really good) My 5 year old LOVED the Sandy Beach. We went almost everyday we were there. My brothers dog also loved swimming in Lake Miltona! We had awesome bonfires, and the string of lights around the trees were a great touch to set the mood. If you’re looking for a fun filled, yet quiet stay with your family, then I’d definitely recommend Copper Lodge to you. Thanks again, Derek!

We had a great time at Cooper Lodge! The hosts were great and the process was simple, both in and out. We brought our bait and docked it at the private dock our whole stay. We surprised my husband for his 40th and his parents, siblings and their families all came with their kids. Everyone was talking about booking next year again and making it an annual thing!

Fireworks for the Fourth
Our Copper Lodge experience was everything that we had hoped it would be. The property is super clean and well accommodated for a true warm weather vacation at the lake. Speaking of the lake, Lake Miltona is a gem. Clear and clean, excellent fishing and recreation. Best if you have your own watercraft. Copper Lodge has a dock available that we could utilize as well. Cooking our meals was a new experience on the Blackstone, an experience that we enjoyed as well. The fire pit area with complimentary firewood was right in our wheelhouse as well. We utilized it almost every evening! The neighborhood is quiet, family friendly, and has a nice mix of demographics to help one and all feel welcome and safe. Thanks Derek, we will consider your property again soon!!!

Family getaway week-end.
Invited all the kids and grandkids for a week-end in lakes country. We really enjoyed our stay and the accommodations were well appointed. I especially enjoyed using the Blackstone griddle to whip up a big batch of bacon, eggs, and 'Grampa pancakes' for breakfast before heading out for a day on the lake. Would definately reccommend.

Great little getaway spot
Derek was a fantastic host. Check-in process and communication were all very smooth. The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed during our stay. We made use of the access to the blackstone grill for multiple meals! The location of the lodge has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are that it is close to a public access ramp for getting onto Lake Miltona. Also, it was only a short walk to the lakeshore access that the owner's have their dock at. Disadvantages were that it is not a super private spot unfortunately. Lots of close neighbors and traffic. I'd be hesitant to have a large group gathering that planned on being outside and noisy. We also got a few looks by passerby's, almost as if they had to check out who was staying at the neighborhood VRBO.. Nonetheless, the hosts and lodge were top notch. No complaints on those items whatsoever. Don't hesitate to book if you are looking for a spot in the Alexandria area!

My family of 4 and dog stayed on an October weekend. We had a great time. The place has everything you need! Grill, Blackstone skillet, games, firepit, linens ect ect..... Worked Out
We had a little family gettogether at this property and it worked out really well. The walk to the land with the dock is really short and easy to go back and forth. The campfire area is really cool and as an added bonus there is firewood provided.

First time in a Shouse Shome whatever you want to call it!
Great indoor space, luckily we did not need it the weather was great. It is a short walk to the lake lot, nice dock, but shallow water for quite a ways. Still worked great for our pontoon. BBQ and Griddle grill were great to have, plenty of space indoors and out for the whole family. Having firewood for us was a HUGE plus, the firepit area is perfect at night, but bring bug spray! As if you didn't already know! Thanks the the stay!

Awesome place to bring your family. Everything was exactly as described. Copper Lodge was a great way to unwind from life and I highly recommend staying here. Our family had a very nice time at Copper Lodge. Our host was very responsive! The lodge is done very nicely with plenty of space for guests to sleep. This was a unique property that meet our needs. Our only recommendation would be to air condition the large common space if possible as it got a bit warm. Thanks again Copper Lodge!

Perfect Girlfriend Getaway
Our group of 9 girlfriends spent the weekend at Copper Lodge--April 2021--and it was exactly what we were looking for. The open concept of the "shouse" was perfect for our group. We always felt close, without feeling divided by multiple rooms. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen area met all our needs. Very clean! It was awesome to open the large garage door to let the warmth and sunshine in. There's a super cute little fire pit area as well. We made hibachi on the Blackstone grill--what a great amenity! The location was also desirable -- pretty area to walk around, and the water in Lake Miltona looked crystal clear. Derek was wonderful--super easy to communicate with and offered local recommendations as well! If you're interested in Copper Lodge--definitely book it! 5 stars from our crew---we are already planning to come back next year!

Highly recommend!
This place was perfect for our family of 7. 4 kids stayed in the loft, the oldest got her own room, and my wife and I enjoyed the master bedroom. Derek was very responsive with our questions. We highly recommend this place!
