We checked in while the property manager was still at the property, replacing smoke detectors and batteries. This is lucky, because the lock code hadn't yet been applied to allow us to get inside. The main room doesn't match anything about the picture on the listing other than the basic shape of the room. I suspect that AI was used to produce a more appealing image for the listing. The house was eighty four to eighty nine degrees when we arrived because the AC wasn't working, and we were told that it would be sorted out very soon. We suffered through an eighty four-plus degree house in ninety degree weather for 8 hours, waiting for someone who never arrived to repair the AC, then tried and largely failed to sleep through the night, still with the house at eighty nine degrees. Multiple attempts at contacting both the owner and the property manager went unanswered. We spent the next day continuing to press the owner for updates on when the AC would be fixed. It regularly took him 3 hours to reply, and when he did reply, he was intensely unhelpful, repeatedly offering the same "we're hoping it will be fixed some time today." We returned to the property at 8 PM that evening and it was still eighty nine degrees. I requested a full refund from VRBO, who took wonderful care in resolving the situation, as well as offering compensation for my group to find lodging for the rest of our trip. However, prior to that fix, everything about this stay was horrible.
