  • Geniet van SML vanuit ons prachtige, authentieke blokhut met 3 slaapkamers en 3 badkamers. Deze hut is vakkundig vervaardigd, gebouwd in de jaren 1980 met vintage stammen rond 1825. Hoewel het structurele materiaal bijna 200 jaar oud is, heeft het alle moderne gemakken binnen, waaronder nieuwe centrale verwarming en airconditioning, prachtige houten vloeren en massief houten deuren. We hebben een HD-tv met Blu-ray / dvd-speler en veel films, evenals boeken, veel games en een goed gevulde keuken. Neem je zwemkleding en veel zonnebrandolie mee en profiteer van het enorme dok op twee niveaus. Bind uw boot of jetski vast aan het dok - of maak goed gebruik van de eigenaars 3 kajaks, waterfietsen en drijvend speelgoed. Vissen, mais-hole spelen (boards meegeleverd), of ontspannen en een boek lezen op het dok of op het grote achterdek bij het huis. Grill als een baas? We hebben dekking. Zin in een wandeling? - ga naar SML State Park, op slechts 11 km met de auto. Gelegen in een rustige baai op slechts een paar honderd meter van het hoofdkanaal (in de buurt van R27), hier vindt u uw R&R, met een gerust hart wetende dat u nog steeds in de buurt bent van alle gemakken die u nodig hebt - Met de auto: eten Lion ligt op 6,5 km afstand en de Hales Ford Bridge op 11 km. 40 minuten naar het Liberty University-stadion en 1 uur en 20 minuten naar Lane Stadium in Blacksburg! Het wordt gewoon niet beter dan Cabin Life on the Lake!

    De buurt HOA heeft een boot lancering gelegen op ongeveer 1 mijl van het huis. Hadden we al gezegd dat er twee wijngaarden binnen 3 mijl zijn (Hickory Hill Winery en Ramulose Ridge Winery)?

    Een noemenswaardige excursie op slechts 44 mijl van de hut, ongeveer 45 minuten rijden, is McAfee Knob (op de top van de Catawba-berg), een van de leukste en meest schilderachtige dagwandelingen op de Appalachian Trail - een echte aanrader!

    Tijdens het hoogseizoen is de schoonmaakkosten inclusief de linnenservice. Breng uw eigen strandlakens mee voor het dok en de boot. Neem contact op met eigenaar om schoonmaakkosten buiten het seizoen en tarieven voor één nacht te bespreken. Neem contact op met eigenaar om bezettingslimieten te bespreken.

Lake Vacay

Our family of 6 enjoyed our week at the cabin on the lake. The cabin is charming and met all of our expectations. We especially enjoyed the 2 level dock/boathouse in the quiet cove and the easy access to the main lake.

Serene, quiet and relaxing

The property was everything and more. The view from the deck to the water below was peaceful and serene. Kayaks and a paddle boat were at our disposal for some fun water activities. The house was comfortable and inviting with its log cabin feel. We had a great time!

Cabin and Lake Life!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Listing description is accurate, but the experience was even better than we could’ve imagined. Great location @SML with grocery only 10 minute trip and easy boating to everything the lake has to offer. Swimming off the dock is fantastic, and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat around the quiet cove. Grilling out on the deck and S’mores at the fire pit, hiking at the state park, and relaxing in the cozy, well-appointed cabin - love the rustic feel with all the modern amenities…we’ll be back!

Pros Location, amenities, response time of owners, we really had a blast and had everything we needed Cons Have to make your own bed( this is sml normal though, apparently) loud raccoons on house/roof at night, broken tv speakers.

Labor Day Getaway

Nice trip! The cabin was comfortable and cute. Plenty of room for us all. The walk to the lake was fairly short and the wide steps help a lot when you have bad knees! The dock was lovely with the refrigerator, chairs and a swing. We enjoyed being able to bring our pet! The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools, pots, pans and we didn't want for a thing! Thank you to our host for being communicative and informative -

Awesome property and location!

My family loved everything about this cabin. The cabin is very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need and the hosts have provided many extras including a well stocked kitchen, a hammock, corn hole boards, games, kayaks and paddle boat. The dock is a great addition that we were able to tie our boat to during our stay. The location on the lake is close to the main part of the lake but away from the busy boat traffic. The property is very wooded but has excellent path lighting to the dock and looks beautiful in the evening. The hosts where wonderful to work with and provided excellent communication throughout the entire renting process. We had the best time at SML and hope to return next summer to this same wonderful place!

Wonderful Cabin Stay

Truly an amazing getaway! Incredible stay in an authentic log cabin. The owners were fantastic to work with and very prompt on getting back to us with answers to our questions. The property is kept immaculate and is surrounded by trees that provide an incredible canopy of shade to help keep the cabin cool in the summer. An amazing double decker (docker?) with a neat bar area that allowed us to keep our drinks cold in the provided mini fridge. It also allowed us to store our life vests during our stay. We enjoyed the firepit during the evenings and made smores - which were a hit with our 2 grandsons. :) We loved having access to the paddle boat and 3 kayaks. And our 3 year old Golden Retriever loved the lake, as well. We couldn't keep her out of the water! :) The only thing that would have made the stay better was to have a boat so we could enjoy the entire lake. Next time, for sure!

This log cabin is legit

The workmanship of the cabin is very nice. It was built in the 1980s with reclaimed logs that are well over 100 years old. Really cool, but also very comfortable. The AC worked great. Appliances (dishwasher and oven) were maybe from the 1980s, but amazingly, they worked very well. There were good, sharp knives. The grill was decent and there was extra propane. There was adequate dishes, glasses, pots/pans, and silverware. We used the big iron skillet every day. The listing is slightly confusing/off. The BR listed with 2 queens has only one bed. There was a mattress in one of the closets, so we used that. The den listed with sleep sofa is the main family room. Beds were comfortable. No TVs in the bedrooms, but we actually brought one with a FireTV. The internet is good, with close to 100mbps down. The 3rd bathroom is in the basement with a separate entry. Not ideal, but it is convenient to the dock. There is also laundry in the basement which we put to good use. There are a lot of supplies in the dock shed, including kayaks, paddles, life jackets, floaties, and a small fridge. There is also a full size fridge in the basement that we used for drinks. We had an issue with dock repairs occurring during our stay. The owner did communicate with us to make sure it was ok. The company doing the repairs was very flaky, but the owner did everything he could to get them to finish. Some funds were refunded make up for the trouble and ownership was very apologetic. Overall, this is a nice place, in a very nice cove, with good ownership. I would recommend.

This was our first visit to SML. The house and property were just as advertised. We had a very relaxing week. The house had everything we needed for our stay, and the grocery store and restaurants were very easy to get to.

The Lane Cabin

The cabin is very comfortable and has a lot of charm. The location on the lake is excellent, the quiet cove is great sitting and swimming. By car it is easy (for the lake area) to get to the grocery and other stores.

Peace and Quiet

We had a wonderful stay at the lake cabin. We found the kitchen to be well appointed and the beds comfortable. We rented a boat and were able to enjoy cruises and fishing on the lake. We also hiked in SML State Park, played cornhole and visited the wineries. Our kids even did the "Polar Plunge" in the 52F lake water. Something for everyone. I am happy to say, I am the undisputed cribbage champion of the the vacation!

Perfect!

We booked this as a last minute option to celebrate NYE/New Year. What a wonderful property. Clean, well laid out, all amenities as described. We enjoyed everything - especially the views from the 2nd floor dock. Campfire each night, hike each morning (at the nearby State Park) and lots of relaxing in between. Highly recommend!!

This is a beautiful home in a great location. Super clean and everything was in excellent working condition. Very nicely furnished. Kitchen well stocked. Owners were very nice to work with; very friendly, responsive and accommodation. Overall - outstanding!

Relax by the lake!

Perfect house for our family vacation (two adults & three kids). The house is in a great location, very quiet and comfortable. Lots to do outdoors, we boated, fished, kayak'd and hiked. Easy check in / check out and good communication from owners. If you are visiting SML, this is a great place to stay!! Thank you!!
