A fully renovated 19th-century farmhouse. Located in Montefiore dell’Aso, a medieval village just 10 minutes from the sea and 40 minutes from the Mountain Community and the main tourist centers. Casa del Gelso is located very close to the town and other homes, yet it is completely independent and situated in a quiet area, far from noise and traffic. As a result, it offers undeniable advantages, such as proximity to both local amenities (supermarkets, pharmacies, bars, etc.) as well as to country trails for long mountain bike rides, making a car absolutely unnecessary. You can use the car only to go to the beach (a 10-minute drive). The house is surrounded by greenery and tranquility, in a splendid panoramic location with breathtaking views of the entire valley and the sea. At a single glance, you can admire the Sibillini Mountains, the Gran Sasso Massif, and the blue sea. Ideal for relaxing walks, hikes, and runs in the open air. Just a few minutes from the nearest golf course.
Montefiore dell’Aso
A typical medieval-style village in the Marche hinterland, the historic center of Montefiore is well-preserved today: significant sections of the city walls remain, complete with gates and six towers dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. A visit offers tourists pleasant views and valuable insights into the town’s historical and artistic past. From the Belvedere De Carolis, a picturesque panoramic terrace, you pass through the Aspromonte Gate to enter the historic center and reach the heart of the town, dominated by the Collegiate Church of Santa Lucia. Continuing our stroll through the town center, a stop at the San Francesco Museum Complex
is a must. The new museum itinerary winds through the convent’s rooms, housing the Carlo Crivelli Hall, the Giancarlo Basili Scenographic Documentation Center, the Adolfo de Carolis Museum, the Museum of Rural Life, and the Domenico Cantatore Collection. The museum complex also hosts associations and other cultural activities, such as the town choir in the hall called “La Musica a Montefiore dell’Aso,” the school of painting and engraving in the “Laboratory of Arts and Crafts,” and artistic crafts in the “Bottega delle Arti.” The “Premio Pino Mori” Contemporary Art Collection is also housed in several rooms within the museum complex. It features all the first-place winners of the painting competition launched in 1995 and dedicated to the artist born in Campofilone in 1920 and who died in Montegiorgio in 1994. Finally, worth mentioning is the Church of San Filippo Neri, located just outside the town center: built on the site of a small church from 1573 known as Santa Maria del Monte, it was renovated at the end of the 17th century by the Congregation of the Filippini, who dedicated it to their founder. Once the historical and artistic tour is complete, we invite visitors to head to the lush and well-equipped G. De Vecchis Park, where they can enjoy a relaxing break surrounded by greenery while breathing in the pure, fresh air of our hills.
