Il Tosco is a quiet, clean and charming place to stay while traveling in Tuscany. The common rooms are cozy and the elegant breakfasts are the best we encountered in Italy. This is a wonderful place to stay with a local quality. Well worth the higher cost.

The only thing better than the property was the attentive team. An excellent stay, and I would highly recommend the property. The room was spacious, clean, and modern and the overall property offered great services - a kitchen, homemade pastries / coffee around the clock, and a great location to boot. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Magical place to call home in Montepulciano
Amazing place, cannot imagine a better, more magical stay for our group of 5 adults, renting out the whole house. Elena was amazing, gave us great advice for local attractions and helped us by booking dinner reservations and a wine cellar tour. Angelina was also fantastic with our morning breakfasts and other logistics of our stay. Rooms were fantastic, common rooms beautifully designed and spacious, a great blend of historical charm and modern amenities. The breakfast was simply outstanding, felt like royalty with the spread and the uniquely prepared items each of the 3 mornings we were there.

This place is a gem! The great reviews steered me to this booking and they were correct! The owner bakes lovely cakes and has them on offer all day through your stay. This gives a lovely feeling of welcome. Very much reminded me of my Italian relatives and I felt wonderful in our stay there. Room was comfortable, shower and bedding very good. Breakfast amazing, sit down service, at a shared table. Parking is down the hill at a lot with reserved spots. Dinner is in town and we were advised to get reservations but didn't do so; the advice was correct and most places were fully booked. We ultimately found a great one, called The Romantic, overlooking the valley behind the main plaza in the upper town. It had the best breeze, the best food, and the most engaging staff! We returned the next day. Montepulciano is a wonderful town, and this is a wonderful place to stay, and I would highly recommend and would gladly return! Our favorite of our entire visit to Tuscany.

This grand residence will leave you speechless. Give it at least a few nights, stay here as base to discover the region. Every early morning and evening when tourists are not present you will love the walks and bars.... This host is exceptional. So generous and hospitable they leave something nice to eat in every corner 24/7. From range of fruits, sweets daily pastry to a wine collection and liquors. Their included breakfast by itself is worth €50 with silver cutlery etc. Will definitely come back. Regards

Wow. Stunning hotel. Extremely well thought out with amenities and design, very comfortable. Beautiful common areas. And really, the best breakfast we had in our entire 3 week stay in Italy. Homemade pastries, fresh fruits, meats and cheeses. Cakes and pastries available 24/7 in common kitchen. All included. Wonderful advice for trip planning specific to your interests. What a wonderful stay, wish we could have stayed longer.

Can I rate it more than a 10? LOVED this place! So tastefully decorated. Breakfast made by host’s Italian parents - sooo good! And coming back after a day out - complimentary serve yourself bar and open kitchen with homemade desserts. This place was homey, super clean, and the view from our windows were like something out of a movie set in Tuscany. Also host drew us directions to best places to visit -from Cortona to throughout the Val d’ Orcia region. Truly fabulous.

I don’t do reviews, ever. But….. Genuinely one of the best places I’ve ever stayed.( and I have stayed in some amazing places around the world) Nothing was a problem, super friendly, beautiful home cooked food on display with instructions of “if it’s there, eat it”. ( as I did coming in late at night😬) Warm, luxurious, historical, super charming and super clean. Genuinely blown away. Thank you!

Excellent hotel in every way, Elena, was the perfect host so helpful and welcoming. The rooms are traditional Tuscan with all the modern conveniences. All the food was freshly cooked by Elena’s mother and was delicious. The breakfast was never ending so beautifully prepared. This hotel is “a must stay “ in my opinion

I only wish I could rate them with a 20. This was the most amazing stay we have ever experienced. The hotel itself is a small apartment adjoining an incredible living room where they would serve us breakfast each morning. This is a wonderful family that runs the establishment and made us feel very much at home

This is our second visit to IL Tosco and I look forward to our next visit and the one after that and the one .......... The accommodations the food the staff ( all family members) are the best. Beautiful decorations a mix of antiques and modern comfort items. Worth a visit anytime of the year.

Outstanding stay in Montepulciano
This is a wonderful boutique hotel experience. Il Tosco is a small group of rooms on a floor if an old palazzo right in the heart of Montepulciano and with an outstanding view of the countryside. The owner, Elena, was accommodating in every way and was a great host. Her Mom was busy in the kitchen creating the most elegant pastries and quiches for breakfast. They have restored the place very lovingly, adding in every modern covvenience while keeping all the old world charm. Fantastic all around.

A most beautiful stay - in every possible way!
We can't say enough about this beautiful hotel - Home, really! Elena and her mother have created the most welcoming and comfortable spot within an old and elegant building., The expansive and delicious breakfast was a wonderful start to each morning. I would go back in a heartbeat, and would encourage anyone else to indulge yourselves - you'll go home with very happy memories!

Montepulciano
While travelling through the Tuscany region we decided to visit Montepulciano and stayed one night at Il Tosco. My only regret is that we did not stay longer. The family owned boutique hotel was absolutely wonderful and Elena, one of the owners who manages the property, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The hotel is an entire floor of an old Palazzo which they very tastefully renovated to blend the original decor with modern amenities. The complimentary breakfast was served in a grand formal dining room with many options available to choose from along with a multitude of baked items Elena's artisan mother had prepared. The room was extremely comfortable and elegant. I highly recommend if you are travelling through the area to spend a few nights here you will not be disappointed. Montepulciano is a beautiful comune with many sights, restaurants, wine tastings and local artisan shops. My next trip to Italy I plan on staying several nights at Il Tosco.
