Zeer rustige charmante molen op 15 km van Tours - Paradisiac!

15 km van Tours, Villandry of Azay le Rideau, in het hart van de Loire-vallei, en gelegen in een idyllische omgeving in het midden van de rivier de Indre en de zandbanken, in een beschermde en betoverende omgeving, de moulin des Fleuriaux verwelkomt u voor een echt exotisch verblijf. Onlangs gerenoveerd, biedt het u ruimte, charme, comfort en extreme rust. Laat u verleiden ...
Op het terrein kunt u vissen, kanoën, vogels kijken en vooral ijsvogels, een drankje drinken op het zonnige terras, spelen op de zandbanken rond de molen, lopen naar gemeentelijk tennis, minigolf of in het restaurant bij de ingang van de stad Monts. Kinderen kunnen zich vermaken in de aangrenzende beekjes of vlotten en hutten bouwen op de omliggende eilandjes.

Vanwege de onbeveiligde omgeving raden we gezinnen met kinderen jonger dan 5 jaar en / of die niet kunnen zwemmen sterk aan.

Maximaal 5 minuten met de auto: minigolf, tennis, het watercomplex van Monts "SPADIUM", 2 supermarkten waarvan 1 open zondagochtend, bar-tabac, restaurants, pizzeria's, bakkerijen ...

Mooie gerenoveerde oude watermolen op landgoed midden in de natuur

Wij hebben eind juli een week doorgebracht in deze prachtige oude watermolen. Deze is in 2016 (zeer smaakvol) gerenoveerd en van alle gemakken voorzien. Met drie slaapkamers en 5 bedden is het nog behoorlijk ruim. De keuken en eettafel zijn beneden, op de eerste verdieping een slaapkamer, badkamer, toilet en de woonkamer en op zolder nog twee slaapkamers en een tweede badkamer (met inloopdouche). Enige minpunt was de internetsnelheid (er is WiFi, maar daar is alles mee gezegd), er valt niets te downloaden met 1mb/seconde. Wij hebben onze databundel maar gebruikt (alleen bereik buiten op het terras). De molen ligt op een landgoed (Breuil) en ligt midden in de natuur. Bij de molen hoor een eigen strandje, dat vast zit aan twee beboste 'eilandjes'. Daar zagen we een aantal bever burchten (ook twee keer bevers gezien) en aan het einde van de dag komen er reeën water drinken een stukje verderop langs de rivier. De rivier de Indre loopt links en rechts langs de molen (met bijbehorend geluid, het oude rad zit ook nog aan de zijkant van de molen), ziet er prachtig uit. Omdat het waterpeil niet hoog is, kun je prima pootje baden. Ook is er een kano bij het huis, waarmee je in de buurt kunt varen. Binnen is het huis behoorlijk compleet .(keuken, vaatwasser, wasmachine). Houd er wel rekening mee dat je alleen biologische/eco producten mag gebruiken, omdat het water wordt geloosd in de rivier. Gelukkig waren die ruim voorhanden in het huisje zelf en heeft de Super U in Monts een behoorlijk assortiment van dit soort producten. Voor de molen ligt een lekker terras met voldoende tuinmeubilair. Na een ochtend weg (er is genoeg te doen en te bezoeken in de buurt: kastelen, steden, grotten, wijnproeven, de Cointreau fabriek in Angers) is het heerlijk vertoeven op het terras onder de parasol. Bij het huis staat ook een BBQ die je kunt gebruiken. Wij hebben deze week erg genoten van dit mooie plekje. Absoluut een aanrader!

perfect getaway

We stayed in the mill beginning of May 2018 - what a wonderful pittoresque place it is. Ignoring Anne's warning that the place is not best suited for little kids (our youngest was 2, great exercise to keep an eye on him!), we had a week to remember, with lots of fun around the house, enjoying the sun and kayaking, and of course also the beautiful surroundings. Thanks also Anne for your responsiveness when we experienced a slight leakage. Definitely a place to go back to for us.

Dépaysement total et cadre sublime, il fait très bon vivre au moulin. Vivre entouré d'eau, en pleine nature, avec comme voisins les occupants du moulin en face (cachés par des claustras donc très discrets) et la faune locale : hérons, aigrettes, canards, carpes, martin pêcheur, ragondin, un vrai régal pour l'esprit. Heureusement la météo nous a permis de vivre à l'extérieur, seul un jour de pluie nous a enfermé, nous avons pu profiter du cadre avec des amis et de la famille résidant pas loin. Les points négatifs, car on ne peut être parfait : - l'intérieur qui mériterait un rafraichissement- la barque inutilisable car manque les supports de rames- le prix que nous trouvons cher pour les prestations fourniesLes points positifs :- le cadre- le calme et le vis à vis- le charme d'un moulin bien rénové - la région à visiter bien surBref, nous avons passé une semaine idyllique et nous recommandons cette adresse et nous remercions les propriétaires et employée pour leur amabilité.

The setting is absolutely stunning. We had great weather and access to the river was terrific. Such a relaxing place. Lots of wildlife around including European beavers. An incredible range of things to do in the surrounding area and for the British a relatively easy drive down from the channel ports.

We had a wonderful stay in this uniquely beautiful property. As other reviewers have said, lovely though the pictures are, they can't do full justice to how stunning the property is - it has to be experienced. The house itself is very stylish, and well equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We loved waking up in the morning and opening the windows to the sound of the rushing river. The grounds are something else - so tranquil and calming, close to Nature and its sights and sounds. We loved the beach with its natural shade, we loved paddling and swimming in the water, and we had a couple of kayak trips in each direction, marvelling at the beauty and the peace. The local area is very nice, we enjoyed eating out in Monts and in the next village, Artannes. Tours is also well worth a visit. Communication with host Anne and housekeeper Emilie was excellent; we knew we were in good hands. Overall, we thoroughly recommend this property and can't wait to visit again!

Best in Loire Valley

Every time we come to the Loire Valley we stay here. It is even better than in the description. The owner provides everything you could possibly need. This visit was the first time we used the fireplace and it was divine in the evenings. The owner provides everything you need for the perfect fire. Emilie took excellent care of us during our stay with swift communication and a sparkling clean 3-story mill home for our stay. Looking forward to our next stay!

Idylle pur

Wir haben zwei perfekte Wochen an der Loire verbracht. Monts liegt ideal für Touren zu den schönsten Schlössern von Angers bis in den Radius von Blois. Abends bei schönem Wetter haben wir die idyllische Lage des Hauses auf der Terrasse sehr genossen. Für Kulturreisende und Naturliebhaber sehr zu empfehlen.

Lovely, authentic mill in the perfect location for exploring the Loire Valley.

On arrival at Moulin des Fleuriaux we were delighted with the beauty of its setting. Once inside we found everything we needed, it is well equipped and we very much enjoyed returning there after days visiting Chateaux and places of interest nearby. The weather was mixed during our 10 day stay but we were able to enjoy the outside space on fine evenings and sit around the splendid wood burner inside when it was chilly. Communication with the owner was excellent before and during our stay. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Sewage from the property discharges directly to the River Indre

This is a lovely characterful property in an idyllic and tranquil setting. Overall the property is very well appointed. However, we were concerned and upset to observe that the raw sewage from the property discharged directly to the River Indre. Pollution of rivers is a global environmental problem, and it was disappointing to see this apparent disregard for the environment. It was also concerning that guests are not informed about this issue in the guidance notes for the property. We abandoned any thoughts of swimming once we became aware.

A piece of heaven

This is our second stay at the Mill. We keep coming back to Monts just to stay here. Our little ones (4 and 6) love playing in the creek and under the willows, letting their imagination run wild. My husband and in-laws took out the kayaks. There are life vests of all sizes, even for the littles. My husband, kids, and I slept on the top floor. My inlaws (in their 70s) stayed on the second floor. Everyone was able to navigate the stairs easily. There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen and we were able to eat in each night, including grilling three nights. There is a grocery store in town and a Carrfour a short drive away. There is also a great bakery. The famous Chateaux are within easy driving distance. We really love this place as an escape from the busy world and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the French countryside.

Lovely house in a wonderful location. Lots of grounds and use of the river was great fun. Rooms comfortable and had everything we need. The age of the property showed in the plumbing (eg when flushing toilet, water came out of the kitchen plug hole) Communication from host received information for check-in in good time (instructions were really clear) and was prompt to respond to queries. Would have been nice to have had a check that we had arrived / got in / everything fine. Overall, really recommend

Amazing water mill

What an absolutely amazing property, even better than the photos you are literally in the middle of the river. My family really enjoyed using the kayak, fishing rods and sitting by the water. The house is perfectly decorated and furnished. Only 2 small improvements that would be great, more pillows and fans for the top floor bedrooms as they got very hot.

An absolutely delightful setting, in the River Indre (literally). With sunny weather, the deck is a great place to sit and relax. A wealth of first rate chateaux within easy reach, plus the Montlouis and Vouvray appelations (try Chidaine at Montlouis). With kind weather, this is an ideal gite, very highly recommended.

Despite some mixed weather, we had a lovely week by the river. Lots of wildlife, even caught a glimpse of a red squirrel. The house is well equipped, with a cosy log burner for chilly evenings. Lots to see within an easy drive. There are plenty of guidebooks and maps available in the property for use of guests. This was our second visit and it is perfect for a relaxing stay.

Un petit paradis sur l'eau

Nous avons passés un fantastique séjour dans ce si mignon "petit" moulin, l'environnement est absolument merveilleux, nous avons encore plein d'étoiles dans les yeux ! Cela restera un merveilleux souvenir pour notre fille. Un vrai petit paradis naturel pour nous (en plus des nombreux oiseaux d'eau, il y a même un petit écureuil qui est venu nous faire un petit coucou sur la terrasse). Chants des oiseaux, écoulement de l'eau, calme absolu, literie très confortable, nous avons tous dormi comme des loirs. Bien équipé, propre, chambres et salles de bain très cosy, nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la chaleur de la cheminée et le mécanisme du moulin au rez de chaussée. Un beau travail de restauration. Rien à reprocher pour nous. Interactions très sympathiques avec Mme Grosbois, aucun problème. C'est avec le cœur lourd que nous avons dû quitter notre petit paradis, nous y repasserons un nouveau séjour avec grand plaisir !
