"Long Pond Cottage" op Mount Desert Island

Long Pond Cottage is gelegen aan de oever van Long Pond; een gletsjer gevormd meer. Het grootste meer op Mount Desert Island heeft kilometerslange kustlijn en wordt gevoed met zoet water. Een spectaculair uitzicht op het meer verwelkomt u in ons huisje. Privéstrand en Acadia National Park delen dit ongerepte meer. Wandelen, fietsen, kanoën, kajakken, vissen, zwemmen en watersporten zijn voor de deur. Het huisje is geschikt voor 6 personen met 3 slaapkamers, 2 badkamers, een complete keuken, BBQ op een dek aan de waterkant en een eigen aanlegsteiger zijn allemaal inbegrepen. Ons familiehuisje is volledig uitgerust voor het gemak van uw gezin, inclusief kabel-tv en WiFi. We verwelkomen schone, goed opgevoede honden die net zoveel van het kamp zullen houden als hun menselijke metgezellen. Onze keuken is voorzien van fornuis en kookplaat, magnetron, broodrooster, mixer, koffiezetapparaat en normaal keukengerei. Er is een complete badkamer met een bad / douche en een tweede badkamer met een douchecabine. Er is ook een wasmachine en droger. Kano- en kajakverhuur zijn beschikbaar op het meer. Onze eigen aanlegsteiger is geschikt voor allerlei waterscooters tot kleine vissersboten. De ingang (en) en toegang tot Acadia National Park liggen op een paar minuten rijden. Binnen het park wachten historische koetspaden, wandelpaden, paardrijden, fietsen en mijlen van de kustlijn van Maine op uw avonturen. Dicht bij Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor en Northeast Harbor zijn er veel restaurants die voor elk wat wils bieden. Onze familie favorieten zijn de verse kreeften, kreeft broodjes en alles bosbessen. In het seizoen zijn biologische producten op het hele eiland verkrijgbaar. Een schat van het eiland gelegen tussen Seal Harbor en Northeast Harbor is het wandel- en wandelgebied Little Long Pond dat door David Rockefeller wordt geschonken. Geniet elke dag van het spectaculaire uitzicht vanaf het dek of de steiger. Het maakt niet uit of u ervoor kiest om het eiland Mount Desert te bezoeken, te winkelen in de historische havensteden, deel te nemen aan oceaanactiviteiten, elke dag zult u terugkomen om families van duikers, eenden en Amerikaanse zeearenden te vinden die op u wachten. Neem de tijd voor uw kano- of kajaktocht naar Rum Island, bekijk de zonsondergangen en zonsopkomsten vanaf ons terras, bekijk de sterren 's nachts en neem uw middagzwemmen in het meer.

The cottage is not large but it was very well laid out so there was ample room for five adults and two dogs. It was in excellent shape, very clean and well stocked with household necessities. It’s location is stunning. We woke every morning to the beauty of Long Pond. We were close to Acadia hiking trails and only 20 min to Bar Harbor. Lori, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. We’ve visited Acadia/Bar Harbor three times and this house was by far our favorite. I would definitely return!

Long Pond Cottage is a literal piece of heaven. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The view of the lake is the best! On top of that you can watch the loons swim by, hear them calling up the lake, and easily put a kayak in from the dock the explore and relax. This was our second year staying at the cottage and we will definitely be back!

Amazing Sunrises

Amazing Sunrises on Long Pond whether on the deck or sitting beside the coffee bar. Clean cottage has everything you need for cooking, reading, relaxing or washing off the day from a long hike. Owner provided great information for first timers to Maine. Our week at Long Pond Cottage was perfect!

Wonderful stay on Long Pond

Long Pond Cottage is beautifully situated, with unobstructed views down the pond to Beech Mountain from the dining room, deck, and dock. The cottage was incredibly clean and well-stocked, and Lori was very quick to respond to questions I had before and during our stay. This is our third trip to Long Pond but our first stay at Lori's...and now we can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Wonderful location!

The cottage had gorgeous views and was the perfect size for our family. Mornings were spent fishing off the dock in the beautiful lake and enjoying some quiet time while having coffee. The cottage was spotless and Lori made sure we had everything we needed. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful lake cottage

We spent a week at this beautiful place. The view of the lake is amazing. Such a peaceful spot. The house was immaculately clean and well stocked. The owners were very helpful and considerate. The beds were comfortable. The house is in a good location to cover all of MDI/Acadia National Park. We were able to drive to all nearby activities and then come back to the house for a peaceful evening on the lake. We had 4 adults on our trip and did not feel crowded. Highly recommend.

The Perfect Lake House Getaway

We recently stayed at Long Pond Cottage for a mother daughter vacation with our two dogs and it was everything we had hoped it would be and more. The house itself is the perfect size and very comfortable, with absolutley everything you could need. The natural light and views from the windows make the place feel surreal. Then add in the loons floating by and calling up and down the lake, we thought we were in heaven. The location is perfect with most of all major area attractions in Acadia and Bar Harbor only 15-20 minutes away! I cant recommend this vacation home enough and cant wait to return next year!

Nice spot on Long Pond

Lori was a super host - provided a bunch of good info prior to our stay and was quick to respond to a small issue while we at the cottage. Kitchen was well stocked (had access to everything we needed) and grill worked flawlessly. Beds were comfortable and heat worked well when needed. We had a fabulous stay - rented kayaks for the week and enjoyed exploring the pond - Rum island, sunsets, etc. The rental place is a short 10-15 minute paddle from the cottage, so no real need for delivery service, although it was offered. Dock at cottage made it easy to enter and exit the water. Hiked several trails in Acadia and all trailheads were within 15-30 min drive. We were there right around the new moon and night sky viewing was phenomenal from deck and dock. It was always nice to come back to peace and relative solitude of the cottage after a day of exploring. Lori was a great host and their cottage is a real gem!

Hidden gem on Long pond

Beautiful home right on Long Pond! Such a comfortable, quiet home. Communication with owner was above and beyond. Having everything on one level was so enjoyable- hard to find in Bar Harbor. Loved the individual thermostats. Furniture very comfortable and warm throws great for curling up to watch tv or sit out on deck. Kayak rentals at end of pond. Delightful vacation!!

Wonderful Cottage

We had an amazing stay at Long Pond Cottage despite a few days of dreary weather. The location is tranquil and relaxing, and we loved watching the activity in the water. We enjoyed hikes near the cottage as well as those on the other side of Mt Desert Island and the Carriage Roads for biking were very convenient. The cottage itself was furnished with everything we needed, and we were content to enjoy the games, puzzles & view on the rainy days. The quality of kitchenware was upscale, and a coffee and tea bar, as well as a speaker for playing music were an unexpected bonus! We appreciated Lori’s suggestions of activities, and she was terrific to work with as the island prepared for Hurricane Lee. We highly recommend this cottage!

Love Long Pond

House was brand new, clean as a whistle, and everything was just where you’d want it to be! Easy in and out, and a nice layout for friends or family… a pleasant central area with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths off it. Very well planned out and right on top of the lake with lovely views!

Perfection on (and I mean ON) beautiful Long Pond!

Everything about this cabin was perfect! It is situated right on the pond- you can hear the water lapping throughout the cottage! The cottage is spotless, comfortable, VIEWS abound and the kitchen is FULLY equipped. My family and I had the very best time hiking Acadia in the mornings then coming back to swim and paddle in the lake! We had coffee alfresco each morning on the lovely deck where we could see and hear the resident loons and give an occasional,"good morning," and a wave to the boaters and paddlers passing by. We spent lots of family time playing cards and board games on the deck and inside around the beautiful farm table. And the icing on the perfect cottage was that our host is a lovely person who was responsive, helpful and completely accommodating!

Perfect Stay on Long Pond

We had an amazing stay at this house on Long Pond. The house is so nice, with a terrific view of Long Pond, as well as being super comfortable and spacious, and well appointed with anything you need to make a rental house feel like home. We spent the whole week pretty much looking at, on, or in the water. Kayaking and fishing were out major activities and we loved how close the dock was to the deck and the house to make that as easy as possible. Our dogs loved hanging out on the deck too.

Loons!
