Quiet and close to main trails!
This little house is perfect for a getaway to Acadia. We stayed in late October. If you are looking to get away from the crowds of Bar Harbor, this is it. Surprisingly, it’s not a long drive from town, but it’s so quiet. We did two long full day hikes directly from the house. No need to drive! Check all trails for a trail leading directly from town to the quarry trail to Gorham Peak or the Ocean Trail. We found the short cut only on our way back. Super convenient for home cooked meals, laundry (nice!), fires in the pit, and tv for tired nights. Definitely consider this house for quiet, convenience, and comfort.

Perfectly located with easy access to Acadia and to Bar Harbor. A cute, quaint, comfortable and clean place to return to after days of hiking, biking and exploring the area. We will be back!

Otter Creek Cottage
Our 3 week stay in Otter Creek Cottage was truly amazing. A home away from home. The house is cozy and comfortable, away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Yet, very close to everything on Mt Desert Island. The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. A short hiking trail at the end of the street leads you Otter Cove and Acadia National Park. We would definitely love to come and spend some more time at this home.

Charming Cottage
The Otter Cliff Cottage was charming, neatly kept and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The yard was private, well-maintained and a nice spot to enjoy lunches and dinners in. What we loved most is that it was just a short drive to everything, Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor, Acadia National Park Carriage Roads, and the shoreline. The property manager was easy to work with and provided quick responses to all our inquiries.

MDI cottage with all we needed
We found the cottage true to its photos and description. The location is between Seal and Bar Harbor, which worked well for us. The fire pit and gas grill weee both nice perks we enjoyed. Owner is responsive and check in/ out as well as recommendations before our trip were great. The little store at the end of the street was also so lovely and we visited multiple times.

Perfect for small family
House was perfect! Clean and tidy. Newly updated and simply decorated. Perfect so we didn’t have to worry about mixing up our things with the homeowners. Supplied a number or little special touches that really made us very comfortable for the week we were there.

Great place to stay on Mount Desert Island
We had a wonderful time at Otter Cliff Cottage. It's a nice quiet neighborhood only 15 minutes from Bar Harbor, even closer to Seal Harbor. The cottage was well kept and equipped. Amanda, the hostess, is very accommodating, and goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable. Our only regret was not staying two weeks instead of one. I would recommend this property and plan to book it again if we make it back to Mount Desert Island / Acadia National Park.

Great week in Otter Creek
Very cute and very clean cottage! We loved the location in Otter Creek. It is a quiet street that ends in Acadia National Park- we hiked from the cottage and also took the Island Explorer bus into Bar Harbor. Amanda was a great host- she communicated well throughout the entire process and was only a quick text away if we needed anything (we didn’t need anything though- everything was great!). Highly recommend

Perfect!
We stayed at the Otter Cliff Cottage for almost 2 weeks. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Amanda was very welcoming and very responsive. The location is just perfect. The cottage is on a quiet street, yet just a few steps away is a little market that sells clam chowder, lobster and sandwiches which was ideal after a long day and just wanting to eat-in. I work remotely and the internet worked very well. The cottage is also just 4 miles from Bar Harbor in one direction and in the other, access to the many carriage roads inside and outside of Acadia National Park, as well as the other trails. We really felt like we were at home, and would recommend this cottage to anyone who is interested in visiting Maine. This has been one of our best vacations in the United States as we love the national parks and being in the woods. Thanks Amanda for being the most wonderful host. I really enjoyed chatting with you as you live such an interesting life. Meeting Amanda was part of our experience in Maine.

Charming home, great location
A great location for exploring Acadia. The house is cozy and comfortable -- we were just two adults, so it was spacious, but not overly large; it would be ideal for a family with children. The kitchen is well equipped.

Fabulous Fall Getaway
This is the perfect cozy cabin tucked in a quiet part of MDI. Convenient location to get to all the great parts of Acadia and MDI. The Fall Foliage was amazing - luck of timing. The cabin was very clean and had comfy beds and linens and things you might need during your stay. We would definitely stay here if we come back to the area in the future. Lots of great books and brochures with tips about hikes- We hiked many miles even on the rainy day.

Wonderful experience!
Staying at the Otter Cliff Cottage was wonderful. The cottage is clean and comfortable, with excellent amenities. It is convenient to all of the hikes on the east side of the island, yet the street on which it is located is quiet and peaceful. Another plus was that there are some very nice neighbors: both other guests, and residents of Otter Creek as well. Amanda was most gracious, and also very helpful when we had a minor practical problem (not related to the accommodations). An excellent place to stay!

The property looked exactly like the pictures, even nicer. It was decorated really well, was very cozy and it is the best fully stocked kitchen in a rental I have ever had. Amanda was great when we had a question and we loved how close and easy it was to access the park!

Perfect cottage
My family and I absolutely loved this property! Such a cozy cottage and super clean. We enjoyed being in a quiet area but yet still being within a short drive of everything!! This cottage had all of the little touches that make a place feel cozy and like home away from home.

Adorable cottage
Communication about check in and check out was very clear and smooth, and the host was very responsive. The cottage is adorable as far as decor and the perfect space for 4 adults. Having a fully functional kitchen, washer/dryer, and fire pit was a really nice perk!

Overall a great place for vacation.
Amanda was great. The house was clean, comfortable, well stocked and in a great location. The only issue was that it was a bit musty and smelled damp. We had good weather,, so we were able to open windows which helped.. A humidifier might help as well. Overall, it was a great vacation and we would recommend the house and Acadia!

Great Stay
Otter Cliff Cottage had everything we needed for a great stay in Acadia. The location was perfect. Close to Bar Harbor and Seal Cove and only 1/2 hour to get to the quiet side. Trail at the end of the street led to Quarry Trail, down to Otter Cove and on to Thunder Hole. The cottage was dog friendly, clean and kitchen well appointed. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit making s'mores. Overall a great place ro stay.

Perfect house in a perfect location
The house was in great condition and had everything we need. The best part is the location. Outside of the tourist craze of Bar Harbor but with easy access when you feel like that. Location couldn't be better. You can get to the trailheads quickly to some of the most popular hikes in the park by walking or a short drive.

This property was everything we could have asked for! Great location, very clean, open, extra bedding, a small market just a block away to purchase essentials, hiking directly from the property! I could go on! Sometimes rentals at this price point can be a little hit or miss but this was wonderful!

Wow! Where to start?
The Otter Cliff Cottage raised the bar very high for any future VRBO stays we do. The cottage was exactly as described on VRBO. The cottage was spotless and very well prepared for us when we arrived. The air conditioning was on (very hot day). There was ice already in the freezer. The owners attention to detail astounded me. Even the outside lawn furniture was spotless and ready for use. The location was ideal for us. We liked the quiet street and being closer to scenic walks and sights. We met some of the neighbors and everyone was super friendly. In the first day or so I had a couple questions about directions and activities and texted the owner to see if I could learn more. I heard back from her immediately with great information and ideas. We will definitely be looking to return here.

Great Place to Stay!
The cottage was cozy, clean, and beautiful. Everything was straightforward and easy for the check-in process, and the host, Amanda, was super nice, easily reachable, and quick to respond to questions. There were all the amenities we expected and the cottage is on a road that connects to trails around Acadia. The market at the end of the street was also within walking distance and had all the essentials, as well as dinner options including lobster. We had a wonderful stay and I would definitely come back!

Family and dog friendly!!
We stayed here for a long weekend with our toddler and dog. The location was great. Close to all the major attractions in Acadia and to downtown Bar Harbor. Very quiet neighborhood with trail access to Otter Creek and the Ocean Path (~2 miles each way). Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The front yard had a fire pit that we used and a nice size grassy area for our son to play. Very happy with our stay and hope to visit again soon!!

A charming spot in the heart of Acadia
This was our family's first visit to MDI despite many summers in Maine. While the visit didn't turn out as we had planned (emergency surgery for one of our children), we enjoyed our time at the Otter Cliffs cottage and look forward to returning another time. The house is central to the greatest hits of Acadia without being in the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. (We were coming from a small island in Maine, so anyplace seems congested.) Amanda has thoughtfully outfitted the home for renters, and we had everything we needed.

Great property - close to the shop and able to walk to the trails from the unmarked trail at the end of the street. Made best use of the free buses to tour the whole park. Had an awesome time in Arcadia a real gem of a National Park. Thank you

Great place with location near Otter Cliffs and accessible to hiking/biking trails. Nice corner store a short walk away with nightly lobster pound. Quiet neighborhood, nice albeit small outdoor space. Would definitely stay again!

Decent place, not ideal neighborhood
The house is clean and had ample room for our family of four. The hot water heater runs out of water after two showers and takes an hour or so to get warmed up again. The adjacent homes on all sides are year round tenants who aren't keen, for the most part, on keeping their properties well maintained. While we had no issues with any of the neighbors we did feel a bit awkward travelling in and out of this neighborhood. The nature of the neighborhood continually reminded us that we are tourists and these are the people that make Mount Desert Island work as a place to visit. Proximity to hiking was good and an easy drive to towns and restaurants. I would definitely rent this home again but we just weren't prepared to get such a close look at the daily lives of the locals. Next time we will be ready....
