'We really loved the home, especially it's location as it enabled our son to walk to class and return to spend family time within minutes. Amenities were great, as we cooked and appreciated the sugar, oil and such as well as cooking utensils. We did struggle a bit with the furniture, as both the couch and kitchen chairs were relatively uncomfortable for any extended period of time. 'My family had a different reason for seeking peace on our trip to the area. We were in town for a family funeral, and this little piece of heaven was exactly what we needed. The cabin was very welcoming, had what we needed, and had the peace that was very welcomed during this difficult time. We were close to events and family in Solon, but had a quiet, peaceful place to let down. The lake was a short walk from the property, with a convenient trail for walking, running, and enjoying nature.'

'We appreciated the spaciousness and location of the property. The kitchen is very functional and the induction cooktop is terrific. The online photos showed a kitchen table that seats 6, but actually only had 4 chairs. Otherwise there were few surprises. All in all the stay was very pleasant.'

'Love watching deer come out every evening. Minimal utensils in kitchen bought steak knives and left them for next guest. If you are physically fit at age 64 then OKAY. however, tub is very high set and NO grab bars. Did not know about Cedar Rapids water, took a trip to Wal-Mart to buy water for drinking and cooking. Other than that, loved the week we stayed centrally located for all of our adventures.'

'We wanted a place that could accommodate our family of 5 with their significant others. This Victorian beauty has so much charm! It gave us ample space to hang out as a family. We utilized the formal parlor to have a cup of coffee and visit. We enjoyed the informal family room to watch tv. Beds were super comfy in all the rooms. Check in and check out was so easy! 'For the price it’s a good hotel. You just have to remember that you have to ask for housekeeping and fresh towels or they won’t do it. And they work so fast sometimes things get missed. For example we had a double double and one day only one of the beds was made. Strange. But everyone who works there was helpful and had a great attitude. I will stay there again. '
