Kennisgeving van 2018: Recente updates omvatten LVT-vloeren overal, nieuwe glazen metrotegels achterwand in keuken, nieuw beddengoed, nieuw serre-meubilair en opnieuw gestoffeerde zitbank. De virtuele rondleiding en foto's zijn up-to-date.

Gambler's Retreat is een tweede rij huis met vijf slaapkamers en vier badkamers met uitzicht op de oceaan en de inlaat, gelegen op 2. 4 mijl ten zuiden van Garden City Pier in Gulf Stream Estates. Dit huis beschikt over een volledig uitgeruste keuken met vaatwasser, magnetron, twee koelkasten, bar met ijsblokjesmachine, evenals een wasmachine, droger, centrale verwarming en airconditioning en plafondventilatoren in elke kamer. Vier flatscreen-tv's (kleur, kabel), vier dvd-spelers en cd / stereo-speler zijn ook aanwezig. Een extra familiekamer met de tweede koelkast bevindt zich op de begane grond. Slaapplaatsen zijn onder andere een koning, twee koninginnen en drie eenpersoonsbedden, evenals een stapelbed met twee eenpersoonsbedden en een tweepersoons slaapbank. Drie slaapkamers zijn boven en twee zijn beneden. De badkamers zijn gelijk verdeeld over de verdiepingen. Outdoor voorzieningen omvatten een op maat gemaakte 34-voet-door-18-voet prive-zwembad met natte dek, zitbanken en waterval, drie zonneterrassen, grote gescreende veranda, buitendouche en Weber gas grill. Garden City Beach is gunstig gelegen dicht bij enkele van de beste attracties in de omgeving, direct ten zuiden van Surfside Beach en eindigt op een schiereiland aan de monding van Murrells Inlet. Een van de meest gerenommeerde attracties in Garden City Beach is de Pier in Garden City. Andere bezienswaardigheden zijn Marlin Quay Marina, Gulf Stream Cafe, Original Sam's Corner en Sara J's Seafood Restaurant.

Net ten zuiden van Garden City Beach ligt Murrells Inlet, een kustgemeenschap die wordt beschouwd als de 'Seafood Capital of South Carolina', maar waar ook enkele van de beste golfbanen van het land te vinden zijn. We love the screened in porch, the swing, the pool, and the great ice maker! This year, however, the dishwasher was broken and didn’t get fixed, the pool turned green and no one came to check it, and we had to change out the air filter downstairs and clean the wall in the bathroom. The bedspread in the master bedroom was stained and the knobs on the bed’s footboard kept falling off. The ceiling fans have lint on the blades. This is a great house, but it needs some care.

Reviewer Comments: Gamblers Retreat is a great beach home that has just about everything you need to enjoy your home away from home. Too bad it wasn’t clean though. Most of the beds need new mattresses, the grill outside needs to be replaced. It’s all rusted and went on fire. The sheets on the beds were dingy.We made due with what it was and did a lot of cleaning. The location is great.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Gambler's Retreat is a wonderful property with lots of positives primarily location and amenities. The home is thoughtfully decorated for the comfort of families and guests. However, there were some negatives as well. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that the pool was not clean with significant amounts of algae. We promptly contacted the rental company on Saturday and requested that the pool be cleaned. This happened on Tuesday. The house also had some issues with cleanliness. Overall, the kitchen and bathrooms were clean and although the floor had been swept it did not appear to have been scrubbed or mopped. Could not walk around barefoot without turning our feet dark. The rental company was very responsive to our concerns and sent housekeeping back to the house as well as contacted the pool company for a cleaning. Other suggestions to consider would be to replace the mattresses, they are not comfortable, add a handrail to the pool to assist with getting out particularly for elderly people, replace dining room chairs or recover and be careful going down the stairs inside.First time visit to Garden City Beach and we really enjoyed the area. Will not consider this property again even though our issues were addressed. If we had not brought it to the attention of the rental company, the pool probably would not have been cleaned until the end of the season. Yuck!I appreciate Garden City Realty for being pleasant to work with in addressing our concerns. Nice group of people!Hopefully this feedback will enhance the stay for other families.

When checking in, there was a notice attached to our package that the stove was not working. This was a major inconvenience to us due to our grandkids having severe allergies which we combat by bringing foods to cook that they can eat. When we inquired about the repairs, we were told that it would be Thursday before the repairs could be performed, which I told them that was totally unacceptable. I was direct with them and told them what was expected if they could not repair the stove on Monday. The stove was repaired that day and it was surprising to find that the gas line to the stove was never hooked up and was laying on the floor under the stove. Otherwise, the remainder of the week was delightful.

Grand Time with THE GRANDCHILDREN!

We were VERY satisfied with our stay. The condition of the property was was first class...you could see how well the owners maintained their property along with GCR. The pool was fantastic...all the kids wanted to do was go from beach to pool and REPEAT! All our little 5 year old wanted was the pool and pancakes!!! We had 6 grandchildren there plus their parents and ourselves....we can't say enough about how impressed we were with the cleanness, the property's condition and our overall experience of l living there for a week! If we did need anything GCR was on it in a professional, courteous manner. Thank you for a memorable vacation! We so appreciate such a great rental property being available to us and letting us experience such a wonderful vacation!!!

We could listen to the waves from our screened in porch in the evenings. The kids loved the pool which was the biggest we have seen in the area. The roads were much quieter that what we experienced in Surfside.

Reviewer Comments: The pool was the best part of our experience but it was cloudy and even after the pool man came he didn't get it clean until the day we left. The rug on the upper floor was dirty And the sofa was well worn.. Also there were very tiny ants in the kitchen.the ice machine in the island made a lot of noise and never really made enough ice

Summer Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my 3rd year renting the same house. Love the location,the house and pool is great. It seemed to me that house is not as well kept as 1st year we stayed. Had issue with toilet leaking from top floor to bottom floor. This was quickly resolved by realty company. Clothes dryer would not cut off and this was not fixed during our stay. Something should be done about tree/bush in edge of yard on north side. Very dangerous when trying to back car out. Cannot see if car was coming or if someone was on sidewalk on bike or walking. I usually put deposit down for this house for same dates next year but did not this year. Think rental amount on house has gotten too high. Will have to think about it and explore other rental properties and compare prices for comparable house.

It was close to everything, but quiet and relaxing.

GCR should have known this much earlier and communicated.Found 4 windows in the house open, 1 full open and closed all of them.Upstairs A/C quit working on Monday. Response from repairman was excellent.Cleaning needs to include fan blades, as all of them are layered with dust.House layout fits our family well, we have stayed here multiple years.

The pool wasn’t clean. And we were lied to by the realty company all week. By Wednesday it wasn’t able to be used and the answers we were given were flat out lies. It was as if they were employing their own families and covering for their failures. I would stay at this home again in a second if they were rented by a different realty company. We called all week for service and were lied to about the pool. When you rent this house it is because of the pool. Like us. We got there Saturday and it was dirty. Thinking they would clean it during the week. I called Sunday. They were closed. Called Monday and told we would be on th schedule for either Monday or Tuesday. I waited all day and called again on Wednesday since no one showed yet. Wednesday were PROMISED it would be done. It was NOT. Thursday they came by 11 and put so much chemicals in it was unusable that day. And on Friday the realty company scheduled maintenance to be done in the back yard so we couldn’t even be there the ONE day we had left. They totally failed us in this rental. I would never rent anything from Garden City again. They thought a partial discount would suffice. However when you have ONE WEEK a year off to enjoy with your family would you be able to discount that away? They took zero responsibility or ownership in their failure. Will never rent from them again.
