'This a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths, real crystal wine glasses, antique furniture. 'When my taxi arrived at 3 AM and looked at the hotel exterior, I laughed. It was too funny. But once I got into the hotel and my room, I was cool with everything. Clean, comfortable albeit very small room and bathroom shower system in which the entire room is the shower! Something new for me but I learned quite typical in India.
I was scheduled to stay 3 nights. But instead of moving to another hotel, I stayed 6 nights.
