Excellent place, very friendly staff. Breakfast was okay. Ambience of hall, bar, lounge all super, rustic clean and great. Perfect location. Walkable to outside bazaar, shops, eateries and and yet quiet and private feeling.

This heritage property has been beautifully restored. The higher end rooms are beautifully done. The last category rooms may need refurbishment in the near future. There is a completely new wing with large rooms that can easily fit 3 people. Housekeeping may need a little more attention. Overall such a beautiful property. The staff are wonderful and Yamini found time for us and it was a pleasure to walk around the property with her.

It’s an historical property of significance to the town. It’s right in the middle of town too. Staff are amazing, food is nice. Facilities are pretty good. Decor is a bit odd.... some renovations going on which created noise and paint smell in public areas. Could have been managed differently but all in all it’s a very special place.

It was our third stay in this hotel. It continues to impress us. It gives a total different and pleasant feeling ,the old colonial style building, the rooms etc as compared to todays modern hotels. It truly gives the feeling of a resort on HILL STATION.

The staff was amazing! Priyanka gave us the warmest welcome and depute being two hours early, facilted our check-in smoothly and also upgraded our suite. Chander from dining was a delight to speak to encouraged us to go to Rishikesh and Haridwar. Chef Deepak’s breakfast buffets were extensive and delicious. Jitender is full of energy! He greetings are joyous. The staff overall puts the guest first in everything they do. They don’t believe in giving excuses. For example: when the internet was down, they provided us with dongles. Never have I seen this happen at my previous says! Phenomenal!

We were greeted very warmly and sincerely thanked for returning to the hotel. Room and dining facilities were excellent. This 102 years old hotel retains its colonial charm and has added an impressive function room.. Located away from the congested town but close to it, it has its own expansive premises highlighted with wonderful views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks visible from its lawns and many rooms. The room service was prompt beyond belief and even a doctor was arranged in minutes!

This is a large and beautiful property, with a British colonial ambience. The hotel is just off Mall Road (the rather crowded and underwhelming main street of Mussoorie), and yet is secluded and private. There is a main building, which appears to have been a summer mansion at one time, has three floors of suites in each of two wings, with the dining room, business lounge, and a conference area in the main central wing. The building we stayed in is across the lawns. The so-called Chamber rooms are situated here. The entry into the rooms overlooks the lawn and the Main Building, and the backs open into balconies with a nice view of the valley. These rooms are rather small; an approx 12 feet by 16 feet room, with a small corridor at the back, leading to the balcony, and a small bathroom. The furnishings have a colonial look and feel. The cleanliness is above average. The carpet in our room had a smell; since both of us have allergies, we had to ask for it to be removed.

over priced
rooms are ok size , dont have free dorms for drivers , charge rs 500 aprox for driver stay . dont give blankets for drivers if they want to stay in car . food and place over priced according to property .

Drafty rooms and below average scenery
The hotel is old so all the rooms feel cold and drafty even with the heating on and this was during the month of April. No double glazing which is shocking for a wintery destination. The non-veg food was of poor quality so we gave up on it and ate veg only. Mussoorie as a place to visit is poor, disorganised with below average scenery for mountain holidays. The hotel room was large enough but the bathroom very old fashioned, needs updating. There was no hot water when we arrived because the hotel forgot to switch it on for us... it took a long time for them to rectify this. The hotel was too expensive for what we got out of it. It should have cost half the price.
