'Quiet room (separate to pub) with comfortable beds. We dont like full, hot breakfasts so it was nice not to have to pay for it. The cereal/fruit /toast/ pastries were ideal for us.
The food in the pub was nice, probably not worth the price but that's fine as a one-off. The pub was attractive and cosy. All staff were lovely and very helpful. Note - free toiletries are available at the bar, not in the room.
The only things I didnt like were the stag head looming over our breakfast area and the...

'Stayed a couple of nights due to its convenient location. Great to have a leisure club attached. The staff were all great, the food and bar service was good. Breakfast was nice too.
My wife and I did find the bed a little uncomfortable due to it being 2 single mattresses joined together so it had a ridge down the middle. If you want to use the Spa then book early. Friday evening had an amazing keyboard player entertaining in the bar providing background music which was a nice touch. '

'Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. 'Staff were all courteous and Hotel is really nice. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and the food was amazing. Prices very reasonable. My only negative was the size of our double room! It was really only big enough for a single bed and we were very cramped. Bathroom was lovely though.'

'Very characterful room, staff were most welcoming and made a lovely fuss of our little dog , as well as giving him a sausage at breakfast time. Nice to have a bath too. Excellent value for money, will stay again.'
