The house is awesome, lots of space & in a very convenient location. However some very basic things that are standard in the dozens of rental properties around the world I’ve seen were just plain unexpected & I wished I’d know about them before I booked so hopefully this helps someone else avoid the unnecessary stress it brought me on the weekend I was getting married. There was not one spare roll of toilet paper or paper towels (we rented both sides of the house)- you have to supply your own I was told when I asked the host. I also had to ask for HAND SOAP because most bathrooms either didn’t have one at all or were almost empty- they were delivered the following afternoon. When we arrived we couldn’t even open the door because of the laundry bags sitting on the top stop. I emailed the host because we didn’t know if laundry outside was clean or dirty, she didn’t return my attempt to reach out until the following afternoon when obviously it was too late & we had figured it out. When we finally got into the house we had to put sheets on all the beds & sort our towels- every member of our party found this so bizarre considering the way the house is presented. Interactions with the host were overall fair, until she flipped out on me the day after my wedding for the late check out that she PRE-APPROVED months prior. She forgot herself until I reminded her while she berated me less than 24 hours after my wedding. She failed to tell her cleaning person about the change in check-out & then took out her frustrations on me, which on any day is just completely unacceptable. We enjoyed the house, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have time for chores (which we did not but obviously had no choice if we wanted to sleep on sheets) & if you’d like to avoid the host reaming you a new one over things she agreed to in advance.
