This is normally not the state that Myrtle Beach is in. Its usually very clean but just like everywhere in the US we are all having trouble hiring staff. The city has had trouble filling all its staff openings so some jobs have gone undone. The property management also struggled with being at full staff so some things suffered this year. I expect that this will change over the next year as we get back to full employment and the subsidies go away. My experience with the people in myrtle beach is that they are great.

The property next door is being renovated so this is a short term issue. Not sure why the lobby smells. We checked with the front desk and other guests and we ourselves could not find this smell. They are treating the pool now so that it doesn't have issues.

Thank you for the comments. We replaced the refrigerator as we could not get an ice maker for months, it was on back order and since the frig is old we decided the best thing to do was replace it. We always stock the units with hangers but people take them. Every month or so we add hangers as we stock the units with other missing items. We are also replacing the couch this year, its on order. We have no choice but to leave the key in a lockbox off site. The front desk and the building will not work with owners who rent directly to guests.

Thanks for the feedback. Remodeling is only allowed during daytime hours from 9AM to 5PM. If you would have told us we would have called the front desk or you could tell the front desk and it would be stopped. Its not unusual for units to be remodeled from November to mid-March as this is the low season and the reason why rates are so low this time of the year. We will be replacing the sofa this year in this unit. We tried recliners in our units but because of the mechanisms and abuse they get in these rental units we literally has to replace them after one year so there is any way we will put recliners in any of our units. People are just to rough with them. We just replaced the king mattress 2 years ago so if we continue to get complainst (we have had none to date) we will replace that. The countertop is targeted for granite either this year or next year. The washer and dryer are brand new.

Thanks for the review Candace, you are right, Myrtle Beach is not Florida. It really caters to families that want a wide selection of things to do like arcades, shows, mini-golf, etc....I live in Florida myself and no beach in Florida offers the amenities that Myrtle Beach offers so it really is a different experience but again it is really targeted for families that are looking for more than just a beach experience.
