Sandpiper's Retreat is an absolute treat. Located on the oceanfront in the heart of Nags Head at around milepost 11.5, this cottage is perfect for you and your extended family or friends. Comfortable and tasteful furnishings and decor, 3 large flatscreen TV's, and easy/private beach access are just a few of the features that will make your stay here fun and relaxing. Perhaps the best part of 'Sandpiper's Retreat' is the spacious oceanside porch where you can watch the sunrise over the Atlantic every day with your cup of coffee. The location right on the "beach road" makes for easy biking or walking on the municipal bike path that runs the entire length of the town. This house is also just a short walk from multiple popular restaurants and shops: Tortugas Lie, Lucky 12 Tavern, the Nags Head Fishing Pier, the Snowbird, etc. You cannot beat the convenience of a house that is just steps from the Atlantic Ocean yet still within a short walk or drive of all of the shopping and eating options that you need. Our family loved the beach house and the awesome location on the beach. The place was very nicely decorated and very clean with vacuum lines in the carpet when we arrived. Absolutely beautiful view of the beach but note there is a steep walk down to or back from the beach over the sand dune. We would definitely recommend this house and loved our week's stay.

Overall attractive property convenient to everything

Clean but could use replacing or removing stained carpeting. Beds were okay. I'm not fond of two sleeping in a queen bed but that's what's available. There are 2 twins in one room which were not bunks, thankfully. The twins were quite narrow but a thin adult slept there. Narrow twins are ok for children, I'm sure. The location is convenient. The key lock box was a little hard to work at first. The home is somewhat close to public access points on either side of the property (there are houses on each side but access points next to those) which can make for a crowded beach. The trail down to the beach is only sand with a board sticking up that a couple of our party hurt their feet on as the board was partly under the sand and not visible at first.The trail to the beach is also overgrown could use some clearing away. The ocean view is great from the upstairs back bedroom which is a shame for the rest of the party. Too bad there's no back upper deck. The ocean view from the main floor back of the home is obscured by a high dune along the back. You can still see the ocean but not easily. At least there are two taller chairs in the back that help to permit a view over the dunes. The home is overall comfortable with nice furnishings and artwork. The kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, electric oven/stove, and frig that are not outdated. It is close to shopping as well as travel south to Hatteras, across the bridge to Manteo, or north to Duck etc. I would return.

Perfect for a visit with our dogs

Centrally located, 10 steps to the beach, open feel in living area, walking distance to Tortugas Lie (our fav). The house could use a little TLC but we enjoyed our stay and would return with our dogs.

Excellent location. Chairs on deck awesome. Loved having garage. Decorations very tasteful. Good mattresses. Walking distance to Jockey’s Ridge & restaurants. Fun stay - thanks!!
