perfect overnachtingsadres op weg naar Italie.
Een klassiek ingericht, goed onderhouden hotel met bijzonder vriendelijk personeel. Waar je lekker kunt eten, zowel ontbijtbuffet als diner. De omgeving nodigt uit om te verkennen, zoals een wandeling rondom het meer. De kamers zijn ruim en schoon. Klein minpuntje: de slappe kussens. Al met al een aanrader waar wij beslist (en ook wat langer) terug willen komen. De hartelijke ontvangst met een glaasje prosecco zette meteen de goede toon!

Nice hotel in a lovely valley in Austria.
A great hotel in a fantastic part of Austria. The hotel sits under a lovely castle by the side of a beautiful alpine lake. The hotel decor was fantastically busy and eclectic. The staff were excellent and attentive and the food at the restaurant was wonderful.

Did not meet expectations
The hotel did not meet our expectations. The decor and antiquity were average. The main issue we had was that the room was really hot. The room fan was useless and it was difficult to sleep the first night. For the second night, we borrowed the fan from the kind and considerate receptionist and we had a somewhat better sleep. The scenery around the hotel was spectacular.

Flott hotell, spesiellt hotelldelen i det gamle slottet til Kong Ludwig II av Bayern. Må bare oppleves !.

Schönes Schlosshotel mit schönem See
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Für Hotelgäste gibt es abgesperrte Bereiche beim Fernsteinsee. Eine Seerunde zu Fuß ist an einem lauen Sommerabend sehr zu empfehlen.

Like a fairytale place
You do feel like you're staying in a castle! I had a single room and it looks exactly like the picture they have. The room was very stylish, lots of lighting, bathroom was also great. The breakfast was included and was very nice with big Buffett of many things, from savory to sweet. The staff is very friendly and personable, you will feel very welcomed there. Highly recommend staying here!

Weniger Kitsch und Stoffblumen wäre mehr...
Auf unserer Motorradtour machten wir hier Stop und erhielten die König Ferdinand Suite. Diese befindet sich im Schloss oberhalb des neueren Baus, wo sich auch die Reception und das Restaurant befindet. Die Lage ist sehr idyllisch, in der Nacht trotz Nähe zur Fernpassstrasse ruhig. Die Einrichtung ist eher kitschig/barock, Die Moderne sucht man hier vergebens. WLAN funktioniert im Zimmer nur gerade, auf der Toilette und im Gang, die Mauern sind wohl doch zu dick. Ansonsten war das Zimmer in Ordnung, ordentliche Matratze, grosser Raum, herrliche Aussicht. Man fühlte sich wie ein kleiner Schlossprinz. Das angegliederte Restaruant war ok, das Essen gut. So richtig begeistert waren wir dennoch nicht. Stoffblumen, Plastikkakteen, Barocker Kitsch bis es einem schwindelig wird. Der Service war bemüht, aber nicht wirklich mitreissend. Für einen Zwischenhalt auf unserer Reise wars aber perfekt.

Absolutely wonderful experience!
We had dined in this hotel's restaurant 22 years ago and had very fond memories of the place, the services, and the trout! As we were able to pass through the area this summer, we decided to stay. We were in the hotel part (as opposed to the schloss itself). The rooms were gorgeous. We had a very large room with private balcony (Room 6). Truly wonderful. We had half board that included breakfast each day and a 5-course dinner each evening. We also had the trout again at lunch time, and were thrilled. This is a wonderful spot, but plan to stay, as it is a hairpin turn drive to other restaurants. This is also a great spot for hiking and biking, located on the old Roman road to Bavaria. We also toured several of the guest rooms in the castle. Room 301 would be amazing for two couples or a family. There are two bedrooms with queen (maybe they were king) beds, and one bedroom with a single, two baths and a kitchen plus living room in true castle decor but with modern comforts. The road is busy with heavy traffic in the summer, but we were not bothered. Short walk (5 minutes) to the Fernsteinsee with boating and perhaps swimming. Highly recommended!

Nice Castle/hotel in the Alps
We arrived late on a rainy summer evening. We had booked a room in the old part of the hotel. We were offered an alternate room in the newer part of the hotel because it was 120 steps up to the castle. We declined, and I'm glad that we did. The room was nicely furnished and very clean. THe bathroom up to date and also very clean. Unfortunately the room did not have air conditioning and was very warm.
