The Chateau St Denis Hotel is very conveniently located. Both parking and a hot breakfast are complementary. The rooms were clean and spacious.
We had a hiccup at check-in, but the new manager was quick to solve it. The reception desk was well staffed. The hotel had a bar that opened at five and a small sundry shop.
The hot breakfast included sausage, grits, scrambled eggs and pancakes, served by staff. There were also continental breakfast items, including cereal, bagels, muffins, toast, apples… the coffee was Community Coffee, a very popular coffee in Louisiana.
The hotel was a very short walk to the Cane River, the shops and restaurants. It was only blocks from my favorite place, the old general store.
The hotel was clean, but worn. The beds were comfortable, but with thin spreads instead of comforters. My sister was happy about this, I was not. Thankfully, there was an extra blanket in the room.
Our rooms had a microwave and Keurig coffee maker. The toiletries were just okay.
All said, without hesitation, I would stay at Chateau St. Dennis, again. I had stayed at a nice bed and breakfast during my last trip to Natchitoches. While Chateau St Denis lacked the historic charm and overdone decor, the convenient, walkable location, privacy and larger rooms better suited my needs.
