Koufonisia Hotel & Resort Koufonisia,Cyclades Although as advocated as a the only 4 star hotel in Koufonisia, it represents nothing what a 4 star hotel should be. Firstly, the Hotel is not on the beach, as it is pointed out on Google Maps so no nice sea views from the Hotel. Secondly, the photograhic brochure of the rooms is not match by the in locco presence, the first room shown was very mouldy and the second one extremely kitsch with outdated decor and bathroom facilities. Finally was offered a suite (for part of the stay only!) at an extra cost the cost was reasonable but ounce again the quality of room looked like a botched job - I have to say the suite mattress was good - not close to the photos you see on the website. Thirdly, for a so called only 4 star hotel in the island, it lacks basic 4 star facilities... such as good showers and toilette facilities, complimentary toiletries in all the rooms (not just in the suite), air conditioning (yes it stopped working in the suite!), good quality decoration and finishing, internet wifi connectivity service throughout the facilities, to mention a few. Fourthly, the staff where very attentative and kind, always looking to help their guest either suggesting a taverna to eat, a special location to visit, ... unfortunately I cannot say the same of the front desk staff... The only interesting area is the swimming pool but as I said before, there are no nice views from it. Although it was renovated in 2006 - see their website description - maybe it's time for a 2015 renovation...

Excellent place to stay on this amazing island.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was great and the staff really made us feel welcome. The communal areas in the hotel - Pool, bar, restaurant etc - were great. The food was also delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable (with a little sea view and over the pool area). Very effective aircon. My only complaint would be the size of our bathroom - Tiny. But this wasn't a major issue given how little time we spent in there.

This hotel was very enjoyable - espicially the area around the large pool was a delight. The food and service was nice, The hotel is located just off the habour and 3 min. by foot from the small village.

Good value for money!

Very nice hotel, excellent pool area. Breakfast was excellent (except for the bad quality orange juice) as is the area where it is served. The rooms especially the ones on first floor are spacious, nicely decorated. Don't be discouraged by some negative comments, I really can hardly get them. The room we were first given on the groung floor was substandard but we were told so. Staff was polite, too despite the busy period.

Comfortable, helpful staff, excellent location.

A relaxing and very comfortable stay. Easy walk to the very picturesque village of Koufonisia. Comfortable room which was kept very adequately clean. Pleasant to be able to take a swim or just sit by the pool in the sun. Good views from the room balcony. The hotel bus automatically picked us up from the ferry on arrival and took us to the ferry for return. Altogether good, friendly and helpful staff. An hotel with a bit of personality - excellent.

Nice pool and serviceminded staff

A great hotel for families with very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and fresh groceries. The staff in the dining area was very servicemined and friendly. The pool area was great and a nice complement to all the wonderful beaches on the island. The room was adequate though the bathroom was a bit rundown. This would probably not have been an issue if the cleaning had been good. Hair, sand and toothpaste still in the bathroom after cleaning. No schampoo or shower gel. Compared to other visited hotels during the trip with half the room price, the cleaning was really not very godd. Maybe not so strange since every time the cleaners were spotted they were either talking to each other or texting on the phone. Still some work to be done before the four stars are really in place.

Hotel et Emplacement superbes

Les enfants ont adore l hotel, la tres grande piscine. Le personnel est toujours pret a rendre service, en particulier Julia et Dimitri. Hôtel calme, et discret. Beaucoup de classe. Nous avons tous adoré le petit déjeuner qui est delicieux et pantagruelique. C est en effet un bon rapport qualité prix.

Il costo della stanza è molto elevato rispetto alla posizione ed ai servizi forniti dall'albergo. Consiglio soluzioni più vicine alle spiagge (raggiungibili solo a piedi, in bici, in autobus o taxi boat) e molto meno costose.

Good option in Koufunissi

I spent there 4 days, and really enjoyed my stay. It's not a 4 star hotel, but this is also reflected on the price they charge, so no big deal. Good options for breakfast. Lovely swimming pool, nice retrat from the beach when the meltemi is really strong. Recommended.

Lovely hotel

The hotel is located only few hundred meters from the beach and the village which makes it both quiet and comfortable. When we stayed - from the 15.-30th of July, there were few families and quiet guests which made it perfect for us. We were told, that only one week later we would experience å lot different hotel with lots of people and more noise....( the tip for the families). The staff is really pleasant and very helpful. The rooms are cleaned every day and they were spotless. The surprising thing is the salty water in the tub and pool. This is the whole island problem, but there is nothing you can do about it. I have a very long hair and it became very dry from all the salt and sun, but there are local hairdressers ( recommend Irene) and I took a good hair therapy for 5€, so there is solution for everything. Tip- rent å bike and explore the island! Some breathtaking views and small beaches hidden from everybody. Food is quite average in the most of the restaurants, but PLEASE- visit restaurant on the 'main' street ( this is a very small and narrow and very beautiful street in the village) called Gastronomus. Fantastastic food, low prices and lovely staff ( the quiet, smily lady serving you is the owner) and you will come back for more, just like we did....every day...So overall is the hotel , the island and the whole experience something you won't forget
